We booked our rental online about a week before traveling. The in person check in process was a breeze. It only took around 15 minutes in and out. They have a clean bathroom. The parking lot is pretty small and they told us which rental spot to find our car in and it was there and ready for us. They gave us a free upgrade or they just have larger SUVs then they do in CA. The SUV was very clean and was a smooth ride. We opted out of their insurance as we called our Insurance company and they will cover it for us. We returned the car to the Tampa Airport and that was a smooth return.

Ask about it, I get a new invoice without it and the charge are getting erased. I dropped the car about 12 hours before my return time, somewhere around 10pm while my return time was 10am. Give the key to the hotel. One week later, I get etoll charge. Go back, was told to call the number on the transaction information on my credit card. Called the number, says to go online and fill a form. I fill the form, give screenshot of all the vtp till I paid and wait 2 week. Get answer saying the toll I'm due aren't in the vtp list and I'll get a partial refund. No more information on what or when. I reply with a GPS tracking proof of all my transit the 2 days I had the car where we clearly see all toll occured and I ask more information on what toll I supposedly did, when it occured with the date and time and remind them that I didn't had the car after 10pm. To this day, more then 2 weeks later , I'm still waiting. Done waiting, I've asked my credit card to reverse the charge. I'm not paying because someone used the car after I dropped it. That's stealing.

I booked through Nü Car Rentals and my rental was with Action Car Rental at Orlando International Airport. The shuttle bus takes around 20 mins to reach the pick up point and was timely and easy to find.... That's the single good part. I paid just shy of £500 for my rental upfront around 4 months in advance of my trip to Orlando. I called twice before my arrival to be certain that there were no hidden extras. I was advised the only extras were for a child seat or sat nav rental, which I didn't require. On arrival at the desk an employee named Jose Cruz asked for my passport, licence and credit card. I handed these over and was first of all told I would need to pay $59.50 for the fuel in the car and to bring it back empty. My rental conditions stated I returned the car with the same amount of fuel in it as at pick up. This was the first discrepancy. It doesn't cost almost $60 to fill a Kia Rio, but they wouldn't let me take the car without paying it. I was asked how I'd like to pay for insurance. I told him that it was included in my rate and Jose then back tracked and agreed. I was THEN told that because I wasn't paying for insurance that I would need to purchase a pre paid toll package for my 21 day rental at $13.99 per day. I've been driving in Florida for 20 years and this is never mandatory. It even says on Action Car Rentals website that if you don't pay for a toll package, you're responsible for an admin fee plus the price of the toll should you trigger a camera. I was happy to accept this, though Jose wouldn't allow me to take the car without paying almost $300 for the tolls. I pleaded with him that I did not require this, nor had I ever had it before and he rather abruptly told me that if I didn't want to pay it, then to go away and apply for my money back when I got back to the UK. It was late at night and I was alone. I was forced to pay this amount or have no vehicle. Absolutely horrific and upsetting start to a trip I'd saved all year for. It doubled the cost of my rental. I took this up with the company when I got back to the UK and drove without using any toll roads as I would have done anyway. They insisted they don't ever enforce toll packages. The employee lied. I was absolutely forced to pay it, because without paying it, Jose wouldn't let me take my car. This company are THIEVES and incredibly dishonest. I'm currently taking legal action through my bank in the UK. Avoid at ALL costs. You'll be lured in with cheaper rates and then stung at the counter, exactly as I was. Disgusting and dishonest establishment that needs to be avoided.

I was put on the spot about making a decision on insurance and with a "better be safe than sorry" I agreed to pay for 9 days. My car was not ready after those 9 days and nobody called me to inform me that even I signed and paid which means agreed to 9 date of insurance, I would continued to be charged for insurance - even i obviously now didn't consent to the optional insurance. I had to find out myself to which I was then told I had to come in in person to get a new contract. After the rental car was returned I was then charged for toll by plate even I had a Sunpass the whole time. A few days later I also was charged for the extra days of insurance I never asked for and it was kept in the dark about because that seems the trick, "keep quiet and let's secretly make the customer be forced to pay". As I had a new credit card by then they refused to take a payment over the phone and told me once again to come in. I was then told that it I wouldn't come in asap I was going to be taken to collections. So basically nobody was in any rush to ever tell me I was continued to be charged but they were quickly to tell me I would be taken to collections if I didn't pay asap.
