I have visited this location numerous times and this time I must say that I will probably not visit this location in the near future. I visited on a Saturday, December 14th. There were a lot of customers in the store and the parking lot was crowded. Of course, because people are buying items for Christmas, so this is not at all unusual. I only needed a few items, such as two Christmas cards for family members, pocket tissues, hefty storage bags and some baby powder. Needless to say, I raced through the store and prepared to stand in line to pay for my items. I was deciding which line was the shortest and I must say, there were no short lines. I decided to use the process of elimination and decided on this line near the door. The sales associate, Rasheeda was speedy and was getting people in and out the door. I salute her for this. The gentleman in front of me needed balloons and I mean a lot of balloons. No one else and thats including me expected Rasheeda to leave the cashier station and proceed to blow up balloons for the customer in front of me. Rasheeda is then blowing up balloons and we, all of us, other customers, are patiently still waiting in line and waiting for Rasheeda to finish. It took forever because the gentleman customer needed at least fifteen balloons. None of us could understand why someone else in the store could have blown up this man's balloons. We, the other customers started talking and commenting, saying it wasn't fair like we had to wait so long. We didn't get in another line, because all other lines, about two total were busy also. It would have been ridiculous to get out of line and wait in another line since then we would have to go at the back of the line. The lady behind me complained and went over to Rasheeda. Rasheeda was understanding and agreed with us that we should not have to wait so long and that someone else in the store should have blown up the balloons. Its Christmas time for one thing and all stores are crowded now!!! Finally Rasheeda came back and apologized to all of us. We told her that it wasn't her fault, but someone else should have blown up the balloons. She agreed with us and she said that she has been working there for three years and that she asked the corporate people to hire someone for the balloon job. That was a waste of time, she said because no one listened to her. I decided to write about my experience here, to alert other potential shoppers about this situation. Good night Yelp Family!! The sales person refused to offer a small discount for its unkept, almost non-giftable appearance. He also did not even offer to gift wrap the many things I have purchased. When I asked for two boxes for the cups I bought, he said the boxes were only meant for clothing, even though I saw perfect sizes for the cups behind him. What kind of customer service is this? Just because the store items are cute, no curtesies are given to the customers? Ridiculous. I will not be shopping there anymore.

There is lots of departments like kids, mens, womens, shoes, bags, suitcases and much more. There is a lot to sift through. The pricing was in my opinion a little high. I had a very disappointing experience at this Family Dollar location (6438 Sackett Street,…read morePhiladelphia, PA). My minor son made a small purchase using a $10 bill and was given back eight dollars and 21 pennies -- shortchanging him by 75 cents. When I returned to the store minutes later to resolve the issue, the cashier (who claimed to be the manager) admitted he had no coins and said it was "my fault" for not sending my child with exact change. Rather than apologizing or offering a fair solution -- like rounding the change or returning the full $10 -- I was left to argue over 75 cents. I returned the item and only received $1.25 back, meaning the store still kept some of our money. This is completely unacceptable, especially from a large corporation that should be equipped to handle basic cash transactions. The service was slow (one cashier, long lines), the attitude was dismissive, and the resolution was unfair. Marginalized communities deserve better treatment and respect -- not to be nickel-and-dimed and blamed for the store's lack of proper resources. Very disappointing.

I was like ok let me check my account that's weird and right in front of her I open the app of my bank account and yet $3.24 was right there posting as a pending item meaning the transaction did went through I asked her for a receipt where it said decline or duplicated or whatever so I can show my bank in case the $3.24 charge doesn't drop from my account. She started yelling at me and told me to "get the fuck out of the store" that she refuse now to sell me anything and that I was probably just bored of being at home and I was seeing things on my account that's are not there (literally calling me crazy) while I was showing her my bank account. Are you kidding me? I told her that was wrong. I was only asking for a receipt of something since I did swipe my card and my bank account clearly shows that a transaction from today 5/11/20 for $3.24 was in fact debited.
