I try to avoid them, however due to a few factors: * They can get very busy. Body-slamming strangers in the aisles busy. * Pedestrian safety is terrible. Cars zoom down the main traffic lane right in front of the entrance. If you park anywhere to the east of the main entrance, there is no sidewalk due to the poor design of their pharmacy pickup lane. There is no choice but to walk in the middle of the busy roadway. * Interior layout is inefficient and chaotic--it's clearly optimized according to marketing principles (make the customer walk as much as possible) rather than customer friendliness. Aisles are tall and narrow. Between this and the crowds, people generally seem more irritable here than at the grocery stores I usually visit. * Even though their selection is good in some areas, as often as not they don't have the item I'm looking for.

Their meat tends to spoil a bit quickly; I attribute this to having such a huge variety of products under the counter, where pathogens could possibly transfer between products. Produce is better than Family Fare but worse than Bakers. Product selection isn't amazing--there's often only one or two brands in a particular category.

The single biggest negative is that Walmart does not accept Apple Pay so I have to dig out a physical credit card to pay. And I refuse to use their funky Walmart pay system with QR codes. So I shop here once a month for dog stuff, medical supplies, and Guinness, and make most of my grocery purchases at Baker's, Target or Hy-Vee since they all take Apple Pay.
