I have lived in this town pretty much my whole life. Roughly three weeks ago I was in the store…read morewhen an employee who I know personally from outside of the establishment who also dislikes me saw me there. They proceeded to flip me off, insult me and threaten me and my family in the parking lot right outside the store. When I confronted the manager about this employees behavior, the manager sided with them and strongly suggested I just don't shop there anymore, even going as far as to claim they had never seen me in the store before despite the fact that I regularly shop there. I have a four year old with Autism and some snacks sold there I cannot find elsewhere and are among some of the very few foods he will actually eat. As a single father on a fixed income this store has always been a lifeline for me and I am really disappointed in the staff and management. The manager took my number down but never actually called me back to update me about the situation and every time I try to call for an update they screen my phone number and refuse to answer me so I cannot get the number to the GM or corporate. I have tried to find corporate's number online but I cannot for the life of me find it. As someone who loved the store and shopped there once a week I can honestly say I have never been so ashamed of an establishment in my town in my entire life. I would rather shop in a store that was literally on fire than ever give another dime to this company.

I normally go the Dollar Tree in Troy (in the Walmart plaza) but I was on my way to Panera to pick up curbside, and this was the only dollar store in that area. It had kind of an old/funky smell inside. I saw they had cards through the window, so that was encouraging, but their Halloween selection is pretty limited; they maybe had like 10 different card designs to choose from, but 7-8 of those were for little kids (grandkids, children, etc). I ended up buying five for family and friends, and good thing I did because they have a $5 minimum limit for credit cards. The final reason I'm giving them 3 stars: the cashier was not wearing a mask. The man next to him beside the counter was, FWIW. He had a very thin layer of plastic sheeting between me and him, so I'm guessing that's why he thought it was fine ... however, I'm "high risk," so I definitely wiped off my credit card with a wipe when I got back to my car. I wouldn't stop by here again, I will just go to Dollar Tree next time. But they do have a lot of cards (non-Halloween ones) if you need them.

I spent over $100 in the last two days purchasing 24 Mylar balloons, party decor and balloon…read moreweights. The cashier who was helping me inflated the balloons, and I tied them to the weights I purchased. I was waiting for the order to be finished while the cashier was serving other customers. The balloons had been filled, but they were not secured or prepared for me to take to my vehicle, and no one told me that I would be responsible for managing them myself or that tying them to the weights was an issue. While I was still securing my purchase, another cashier, Anisa, abruptly came over and told me I needed to move immediately because the area was "only for cashing out," even though there were multiple cash registers she could have used. My order was not complete, and I had already paid. Instead of offering help or a solution, she started moving my balloons herself with no care for tangling the strings or letting them float up to the ceiling. There were many ways she could have handled the situation without disrupting my purchase or treating me like an inconvenience. Her dismissive attitude and lack of problem‑solving were unacceptable. If customers are expected to take unsecured balloons and manage them on their own, that should be communicated upfront. Very poor customer service. I will not be buying balloons here again.

We tried a number of stores with no luck. I suggested that perhaps Dollar Stores might carry that type of mirror so we planned to look for one. So we were on our way to a dinner meeting on 10 Mile Road when my wife spotted this Dollar General Store, on the opposite side of the road, in heavy traffic, which I would need to cross again on the way out! But, happy wife, happy life, as they say. She went in by herself and after about 10-15 minutes she returned with her mirror and a big smile! Then I got the rest of the story...the Dollar General store did not have what she wanted but the lady who was trying to help her suggested she try K Beauty Mart next door. So she went next door and found just what she was looking for and the cost was...one dollar! I'm basing my rating on how helpful the Dollar General lady was even though my wife couldn't find what she wanted and made no purchase there.

A number of times I've arrived at the store when they're supposed to be open, 8:30, to end up having to wait for an employee to show up and unlock the doors. Once this is done, it takes a while for the employee to show up at the register with the cash drawer to ring up my purchase. I end up waiting twice. A number of the employees seem completely apathetic and clueless; poorly trained and lacking basic customer service skills. These are not the first negative experiences I've had in this location.
