Really surprised by the 4.5/5 star average on here. I stopped by here today because I wanted to see if they had some Halloween cards. I normally go the Dollar Tree in Troy (in the Walmart plaza) but I was on my way to Panera to pick up curbside, and this was the only dollar store in that area. It had kind of an old/funky smell inside. I saw they had cards through the window, so that was encouraging, but their Halloween selection is pretty limited; they maybe had like 10 different card designs to choose from, but 7-8 of those were for little kids (grandkids, children, etc). I ended up buying five for family and friends, and good thing I did because they have a $5 minimum limit for credit cards. The final reason I'm giving them 3 stars: the cashier was not wearing a mask. The man next to him beside the counter was, FWIW. He had a very thin layer of plastic sheeting between me and him, so I'm guessing that's why he thought it was fine ... however, I'm "high risk," so I definitely wiped off my credit card with a wipe when I got back to my car. I wouldn't stop by here again, I will just go to Dollar Tree next time. But they do have a lot of cards (non-Halloween ones) if you need them. read more

A superb dolla store, to be sure. Pretty positive they're selling the same cleaning products as the grocery store and the Family Dollar that both share that plaza, except for cheeeaper! Picked up lots of little goodies here (drawer liner, spoons, a silverware caddy). Minimum purchase of $5 in order to pay with plastic! read more

The service is always nice. I can usually find most anything I need in a pinch. I wish the garbage bags were higher quality and I wish everything was just a dollar, hence a dollar store. All that being said, it's pretty big and definitely serves it's purpose. Recommended. **update** They are officially closed. :( read more

After working in a dollar store and shopping in dollar stores all my life, I consider myself to be a very good judge of them. Dollar Expo RULES. The have high quality items (as far as dollar stores go), Unique items, they have all the staples and more. You can get some really great deals on closeout and imported items. Here are some standout items that I have found here: Pack of 20 binder clips (at office max or something you will pay like 50 cents each) Plastic Mixing Bowl (these are hard to find at dollar stores suprisingly, and cost atleast $5 even at stores like Big Lots) Entire bag of Easter-themed sour patch kids (Off season great deal) Garage Sale sign WITH METAL POSTS (okay these are hard to find anywhere let alone impossible at a dollar store) Well stocked poster board section AND the thick foam board (all colors in stock) SPICES!!!!!!! They have so many $1 spices including: Allspice, Cloves, Ground Mustard, Cinnamon Sticks (they do have everything, these are just spices that are hard to find for a dollar) You know what, you'd be better off just checking it out for yourself. Every single time I've gone there, they've had what I want AND more that makes my project even better. How is that? So I assumed that I just miraculously know what dollar stores sell (from that website dollarsstorecrafts.com), until I've gone into other dollar stores, wandered around, threw up my arms, and huffed out without a single purchase. Idiots! Why can't they be like my beloved Dollar Expo? So I don't go anywhere else anymore. They actually recognize me now at Dollar Expo. I'm considered a "regular" where everybody knows my name, and they're always glad I came. I'm a Dollar Expo drunk I guess! So be it. read more

So I have to knock it back a star- I stopped in to pick up some balloons for the kiddos birthday party last weekend. First I was confused b/c they moved their counter, but I figured it out. :) BUT, it is no longer strictly $1. Even the balloons were of varying prices. Sad day. read more

Dollar Expo is my favorite dollar store ever. I love the variety of items for sale. They have a great mix of the expected and interesting, with a good ratio of staples to fun items. It's my go-to place for gift wrapping materials (bags, tissue paper, and bows). I also love their party supplies and "achievement" ribbons. They had a surprisingly good selection of scrapbook supplies last time I went in, too. If you want to support a non-chain store, this is the place to go. read more

Oh my! I love this store! I moved so I don't get to go in as often as I used to. They are your typical dollar store for the most part. All the dollar store staples. You know party supplies, cards, candy, knick knacks etc. They have a really nice selection on the regular plus the seasonal/holiday stuff is plentiful. They had (maybe still have) these "crocks" which I've never liked but bought them 3 years ago to work in the garden. I love them and they are still in decent shape after all this time and abuse lol. The guys who work here are really friendly and helpful. It's always clean and organized. I wish this store was closer so I could go more often. read more

One of the few remaining and respectable non-chain dollar stores around. The selection is great! You will find things that "Dollar tree" and the like don't carry. 99% of stuff is $1, but that's a good thing because there are items worth $2 or $3 like a full-size plastic laundry basket you won't find anywhere for less. This is unlike "Family Dollar" next door or "Dollar General" where normal prices are simply rounded to the nearest dollar. read more
