I am not big on dollar stores for household items but the Dillar General usually has what I need in a pinch. I wanted some coloring books and knew from raising my girls they would have them. Much to my surprise I ended up browsing because they had so much good stuff. Well organized and well lit. It was worth the drive from Denver. The cashier was pleasant and there was ample flat parking. I bought school supplies to donate and may go back as they had great prices and selection of items. read more

Commerce City Colorado Store: this is concerning the bringing in of backpacks: I am 58years of age and ill start by saying Ive not been a thief and i cant stand a thief: Next I find this policy discriminatory. Never have is seen the women or shoppers with thier own take home shopping bags to be left on the dirty floor by the doors. Now to my recent issue on 2/10/2026, I went in with my bag and heard someone saying sir leave you bag and take off the backpack. I took a cart and kept shopping and got in line. This short heavyset hispanic woman with purple hair then walked up to me and began a debate with me in the presence of about 15 other shoppers. and waited with me all the way to check out. as we got to check out she told the clerck not to scan my items and was refusing service. Is this how Dollar General treats law abiding and paying customers? Not only did i walk to the store in the cold, now I had to walk home in the cold and humiliated at YOUR Store. I hope that the management from the top down sees this email. I hope that you take the appropriate action and terminate this woman and that by doing so you tell me and the shoppers that you dont tolerate this kind of treatment to your shoppers. Remember, its the shoppers that keep you in operation and not the the ones you pay. I would also recommend that you revise this egregious policy: I can understand with a group of kids coming into a store to set backpacks on a clean table: But for adults who rely on public transportation or walking, and the elderly dont treat us like criminals please. Let me just say how much I hate the dollar store. It irritates me that they get away with using the name "dollar" - you know like I know, everything should be a dollar. But this store has changed my mind. On my way home one day I needed to get some cleaning supplies. Not wanting to pay King Soopers prices nor Walmart (ugh, that Walmart in Commerce City? Stay away!) Anyway, I decided to stop at this one. My, was I surprised! This store is huge, a lot bigger than what I thought. Everything is so highly organized. And the customer service is top-notch! I had issues trying to find a certain product, and saw someone stocking the shelves. He stopped what he was doing and walked me to the correct area. Now that's what I call customer service! Everyone was so pleasant, I was very surprised. So all in all, I will go back to this store whenever I don't want to spend too much money. Although I choose not to buy food from them, the prices seem to be a little cheaper than the grocery store. I know I saved big time with the cleaning supplies. read more

Dollar general where not everything is a dollar ughhhh you disappoint me I was wondering why the parking lot is empty a lot

The cashier was texting while taking care of customers. I asked a question. She said " hold on" she then finished a text. Horrible

Employees see guests waiting to be checked out and still expect us to squeeze a toy pig to be helped. Employee in front of me having unprofessional conversation and hold up the linethen walked the wrong way down the taped line, broke social distancing. Cashier was disrespectful and rude when my bag got stuck on the turn table because, she didn't turn it and actually tried to make it seem like it was my fault. I'm not sure why my family and I continue to give this store another chance when it in clear that every time I send a complaint the service is worse the next time we go in. We would rather take our chances with our health and our money at Walmart down the street who seems to care more about Guest services and health then this company read more

Everybody from the manager down to the cashiers are just rude. The store itself is messy and there are boxes everywhere. There is never anything I need there because all the shelves are always cleared. Very disappointed and will not be going back until there is new management and friendlier cashiers. read more

went to the store for one simple item when we arrived there were people inside, it was almost 8pm and as we walk in we get told theyve been closed and how they don't understand how people dont see the big sign that says " closed for remodeling at 5pm" we were made to feel dumb yet they literally had being coming out from shopping 2 hours after there supposed to be closed, worse customer service ever. read more

i started shopping at this location as it was close to where i live, i was first disappointed that this was not a true dollar store, and i will say i did not really care to shop at this location, this store is never clean inside its always a mess with products just scattered all over the place, there is nothing in proper order, the staff are always just standing around either on their cell phones or are talking to other employees instead of doing their job, you have to flag down an employee when you want to check out or need any help, the workers here act like they dont even care about helping the patrons, however my main complaint is that the last time i was in this store i bought a half gallon of milk that was past its sell by date and already spoiled, if they are selling spoiled milk what other products are sitting on their shelves right now that are already expired, does this company not know or care that it is illegal to sell expired food, dollar general just lost my business for good, and one more then please change that stupid name i hate any store that uses dollar in its name that sells products that are higher then 1 dollar, a dollar store is supposed to be everything is one dollar. read more
