I went to HomeGoods today to buy a rolling cart. They only had one white metal card in the size…read morethat I needed. The paint was chipped off on the "feet" of the cart and came off when touching it. Flaked paint was literally on my hands when I touched the wheels. I asked the cashier if she would be able to give me a discount on the rolling cart. I really didn't want to pay the full price of $59.00 for an defective item. She looked at me and said: I will not discount the cart but you are welcome to buy yourself some paint or a white marker to repair it. Ok- so let me summarize. I am paying the full price and then go out to buy sanding paper, paint etc to make the item look like new when it was supposed to be new at purchasing? I always liked HomeGoods but this experience makes me want to go to their competitors now. It has been a long time since I have experienced such poor customer service.

Anytime I move or want to redecorate my living space, Home Goods is my first stop to look for everything from new dishes to wall art to decorative pillows. This Home Goods in particular is usually pretty well stocked with quality home pieces at prices that are hard to beat. Keep in mind that they usually don't restock the same items twice, so if you see something you like you can't assume it will be there the next time you stop in. I've also run into the issue of HG only having one item in stock when I need two (i.e.: a set of matching lamps or pillows). Can't say that's their fault, just something to keep in mind.

I went in to buy a new belt and both employees were rude as hell and disinterested in my situation with an utter lack of empathy. I still managed to find a belt and buy it on the spot. Two weeks later while in the same restroom at The True North convenience store, the new belt I had just bought broke right in half at the Buckle. Again I went to the fashion warehouse and they again were inhospitable and wouldn't help me it at all in exchanging the belt. So now I'm stuck holding my pants up as I walk around because I made the mistake of buying a cheap faulty product at a cheap store with inferior products that don't care when they break. I'll never shop there again.​

Well, I didn't realize the wheels on the carts lock up when you try to roll them out the door. Also didn't see the sign saying so, because I'm focused on my kids, that was my bad. But this guy is mumbling "they're gonna lock up" while sitting on a table next to the exit, and I don't tend to realize people are speaking to me when they're mumbling into the void. Suddenly this guy loudly says "Lady! They're gonna lock up!" while rolling his eyes. Maybe you think they don't pay you well enough to bother having some sense of kindness or customer service etiquette, but you don't have to treat people like they're garbage just because they've never been in your store before. Consider hiring someone a little friendlier.

There's nearby restaurants and we always took the grand girls to get their sugar fix at a store in that shares a parking lot with the mall [I don't recall the store name]. They rebuilt both in the 1980s, as I recall, and it's bright and welcoming, but it's strange that there are no military personnel checking i.d. cards as you enter. Prices are generally good on merchandise but on cameras and electronics, they're often higher than retailers outside the base and it's the same way with the AAFES/NEX catalog. Tax or no tax, sometimes it's difficult to find a deal. Household items, furniture, and appliances are across in the garden center, as is the alcohol. It's good that they added the food court when they re-built the place. The old dark, greasy fast food place wasn't pleasant at all. The commissary used to be incredibly cheap, but with the surcharge, it's fairly expensive, but they have a good deli and the meats are good, also. Add to that the foreign foods section and you'll have reasons to go, but for daily shopping, it's probably cheaper off-base. I'm sure it's about the same wherever you go. Patrick AFB in Cocoa Beach, FL was similar and the NEX in Orlando was a bit higher, but they closed the training facility there so the Navy Exchange was very much a standalone location.
