If you do not have patience or like everything to be organized Blue Hanger is NOT for you. I have tried to visit at very random dates and times never on the weekend. It is always busy. Wear gloves and bring a reusable shopping bag. There are rows and rows of blue bins filled with anything and everything. Books and glass are priced by the number of items. Everything else is priced per pound. You basically walk around and dig through the bins to find treasures. Sometimes I have found neat stuff and other times I don't have much luck. There is usually a crowd of people waiting to rush the newest bin that is rolled out. I am not into this so I hang back until the rush is over and then take a look. In the time of Covid everyone is wearing a mask, you just have to be careful not to become enveloped in the rush of the crowd.

Definitely come here while…read moreplanning on bringing in some gloves and a wagon/heavy duty reusable bag because the carts disappear in seconds of opening and stuff is dusty/dirty. There are blue bins galore here and you have to be the type of person who has the patience to look and doesn't mind spending the time digging through/sorting through a pile of almost nothing. And mismatched items. You will barely ever find the pair to match shoes up- singles in so many bins where do the others go?!? But wow did I find some great finds here! I'm happy with the purchases I made. They don't price each item out, but weigh them out in an empty cart on a scale connected to the register. I can imagine this is a hit or miss type spot based on donations. Some come at your own risk-

RB's are an absolute necessity when doing first ascents. I've taken many lead falls on them and never once has an RB pull out of the rock. I have 100% confidence in their RB's. Over the years, Climb Tech has honed the RB's design, making them more user friendly and even more bombproof. Also, Climb Tech is the only company that has responded directly to the needs of route equippers worldwide. Climb Tech is one stop shop if you're looking to bolt a new line. For establishing big walls to overhanging sport routes, Climb Tech's products have proved indispensable. Other Climb Tech products I've tried include permadraws, chain draws, chain anchors, adjustable aiders, etriers, bolt hangers, and quickdraws. All of Climb Tech's products are top notch and of the highest quality. The customer service at Climb Tech is as good as it gets. The employees are rock climbers, so they understand the specific needs of climbers. Finally, Climb Tech is locally owned and operated in Austin, Texas! Buy local!

I have used their permadraws in the south austin gym as well as out at reimers and I can tell that they are made with amazing quality and will last many years to come. I do kind of wish that they would have a store front for their gear so I can feel and see the difference between everything they have to offer. In this modern day of a digital world and internet ordering, it's still nice to be able to walk into a store, see/ feel what you're about to purchase, and walk out with the product in hand.

I have to say that this toy and game emporium feels a bit creepy but I loved every minute I was there anyway. The part that put my skeezy sense on high was the fact that this place seemed very fly by night. The displays didn't take up the entire store and were the kind of wire mesh that I used to put up and take down in an hour when I worked in retail. I'd seen these for calendars and for Halloween decorations but not for toys. It made me wonder if this place was even legit. It turns out that it is. It's run by a calendar sales company. And they seem to know their stuff in both calendars and games. They carry games that I hadn't seen in years. They carry variations of Monopoly that probably shouldn't exist. And Big Bang Theory Clue. How does that even work? And 3D puzzles galore. And dozens of trivia games. I couldn't believe they even fit so many games into a space so small. The front of the store is a small section of toys and stuffed animals of all varieties (mostly modern, some classic). Now F.A.O. Schwartz this is not. I'm not even sure the "staff" (one person on the register) could even say what was in stock. But for a quick pre-game party trip, this place would be great unguided. Now that Hats In The Belfry closed their National Harbor location, I have to say this is my favorite store in the area. They call themselves Go!, but I hope they stay for a long time.
