I've never had a problem with this staff until now. At around 6pm on Tuesday, April 11th; my girlfriend and I were in the store to make a purchase. We shopped for about 20 minutes before going to the register to buy our selections. The family in front of us were checking out a few items and getting ready to leave. It seemed the mother knew the sales associates and they chatted it up while we waited. The mother was asking about items that she "wanted" while a sales associate was with her, telling her to come back at a later time. Apparently this mother was "LP" for the store. Upon checking out we were stopped by the same sales associate who had with her an open bag of candy. She then began to accuse me and my girlfriend of stealing the candy. (Mind you I'm making a $50 purchase and could've bought a $1 bag of candy if I needed it.) She made my girlfriend empty her purse. She said she had us on camera. I asked to see the footage and she of course, could not show me. She then says the customer/mother/"LP" lady saw us stealing... We were of course not stealing anything. I don't know what inside job or sketch store is being ran there but I will NEVER shop there again. I should file a police report for wrongful accusation of theft. But maybe this review will be suffice.

I stopped at Radio Shack before stopping here to get a USB to Micro USB cable for charing my Mophie case for my iPhone. At Radio Shack, 1 cable was $14.95. I figured I'd see if there was a chance that Big Lots might have some. Lo and behold, they had lot close-outs from Travelocity accessories and I got these awesome Micro USB to regular USB cables that were retractable - for $5 each. So - for the same price as a non-retractable cable at Radio Shack, I got 3 of them, one for the car, one for home and one for the office. WIN! One thing any shopper should know on their maiden voyage into Big Lots, it's never the same store twice. Well, not 'never' - but it won't be the same every time you go in unless you go in two days in a row. They get close-outs from stores that go out of business - so if you see a killer deal, don't assume they'll always have that item. They won't have it ever again in some cases. Deals on nice looking, student-priced furniture at times - from beds to sofas and quality patio furniture. Big Lots stores keep their prices down by having few employees and many are not necessarily the cream of the crop as far as knowledgeable, or a motivation to clean the aisles, etc. The stores can look a little divey sometimes - especially because moms come in there with 3+ kids that wreak havoc. Despite this issue, Big Lots is a great place to browse shop. I always end up finding something that I meant to buy elsewhere for twice the price when I wasn't even thinking about that item. Fun stuff to be found here - from blank CDs to costume jewelry.
