So disappointed in my visit this morning to Krogers. I was racially profiled when trying to…read morepurchase baby formulas and it was not a good feeling at all. I always come in here to buy baby formula but I noticed everytime I come in to buy baby formulas and I get to the self check out, depending on who is there they will either give me the baby formulas to scan or they will scan it themselves. As I mentioned I come all the time and a few times I have come in the past a Caucasian man with glasses is always so nice and playful and when I ask him for the formulas, he gives them to me without hesitation and allows me to scan them myself. He is so confident that I won't steal them so that is why he is not worried about me scanning them by myself. But whenever he is not around and it is a black employee at the front, when I ask for formula they always have an attitude and also when they bring the formulas out of the display case they will scan it themselves. They do this to show that they don't trust that you will scan them and they think you will steal them. I think it is so sad that they purposely do this to only black shoppers. The fact that they themselves are black to and doing this is what is ironic to me. Today it happened to me again where a black female was standing at the front and when I saw her, I said hello and greeted her "good morning"! Then asked her for 8 formulas. So when she came back with the 8 formulas I asked her as she was scanning them herself that why won't she let me scan it? That the other man who is usually here allows me to scan it but now that he is not here and she is here she is scanning them for me. I thought this was self check out?! The lady was absolutely rude and pretended I was not saying anything then she said it's not a big deal. We are supposed to scan them. I did not like how she responded to me and how rude she was so I asked to speak to a manager at the customer service desk. After my purchase I asked to speak to a manager named Steven who identified himself as the manager, and expressed to him how I felt racially profiled. He apologized for how I felt and claims he will speak to the employee about her behavior and customer service. He also mentioned that it was policy to scan the formulas but I advised him that the other man who is there most days does not do it so why is it not standard practice across the board? They should not pick and choose what guest they should allow scan items for themselves and then because they see a black shopper they assume the black shopper will steal baby formulas! I told him it paints a picture of as if the guest they are profiling is capable of stealing baby formulas when they scan the items instead of giving it to the customer. I informed Steven the manager that have no reason to steal especially being that I a disabled veteran. I have integrity and was brought up to work hard for anything I need. So pls management talk to your employees and train them to treat all guest equally and not racially profiled a guest. I was not happy and comfortable with my shopping experience today and I pray no one goes through the same thing I did.

The Forney location is my favorite one to stop by on Sundays for my grocery runs or spur of the moment pickups. It can be a bit frosty when there aren't many cashiers open during peak hours. And it's definitely cleaner than most grocery stores in the area. Well from what I could see.

My experience on 11/18/2025 was a perfect example. I saw a Walmart ad for a Star Wars toy for $10. It was out of stock online but said "Pick up at store," and the Terrell, TX Walmart (Store #265) showed it in stock. I drove over an hour to get there. At the register, the toys rang up for $29 each! Almost triple the advertised price. Nowhere did the ad say the in-store price would be different, and the crossed-out "original price" online was $24.99, so even Walmart's own numbers didn't match. I asked an employee, assuming they would simply match their own advertised price. Instead, I was sent to the service desk, where I waited 20 minutes only to be told they WOULD NOT HONOR IT. They refused to match Walmart's own app price. Their reasoning was that Walmart online and Walmart the store are completely different monoliths. WHAT?!? WHY!?! I spoke with multiple supervisors--Kim, Andrea, and finally Daniel--all of whom repeated the same canned line: that online and in-store are "completely different" and they "can't do anything about online prices." This is absurd. Walmart's own policy says they match prices from Walmart.com, yet here they were pretending their own website belonged to some unrelated company. The corporate call center wasn't any better. I was told the issue would be escalated urgently and that I'd receive a call within 30 minutes. I waited 45, called back, and they had *no record of me at all*. After retelling the entire story, I was finally told that the store manager, Robert, would call me within three days. I left empty-handed after wasting my time, gas, and patience. This is FALSE ADVERTISING, plain and simple. As I told Andrea: How is a customer supposed to know that Walmart's advertised online price isn't actually the price? How is it acceptable to say something costs $10 online, then charge $30 in store? Why even list prices online at all if they bear no relation to what you'll be charged at the register? The whole thing feels intentionally misleading--a mechanism to pull customers into the store with low online prices, only to hit them with higher ones once they arrive. The three "managers" I spoke to acted like price matching or overrides are mythical concepts they've never heard of. Walmart is one company. Online or in-store, the price they advertise should be the price they honor. Instead, I was met with rudeness, inconsistency, and a complete lack of accountability. Terrell, Texas Walmart should be embarrassed by the incompetence on display today. I'm still waiting for a so-called "resolution," but based on how badly this was handled, I'm not holding my breath. *TERRELL, TEXAS WALMART SCAMMED ME.* They should have done a simple override and honored their own price. Ridiculous.

Earlier that same day, I was informed by a staff member that the pizza department closed at 8:00 PM. Based on that information, we arrived at approximately 7:40 PM to order a pizza. When we approached the counter, the young lady working there told us they were closed. There was no greeting or explanation offered initially. I explained that I had been told the department closed at 8:00 PM. She responded that they closed at 7:45 PM. Since it was still before that time, I asked to speak with the manager. The night manager, Graham, came over. Unfortunately, his demeanor was unwelcoming and dismissive. He stated that they stop taking orders at 7:45 PM. By the time he spoke with us, it may have been around 7:42 PM, but we were already at the counter before that time. No attempt was made to accommodate us or to clarify the discrepancy in closing times. Instead, the interaction felt rushed and unfriendly. My frustration is not just about the pizza, but about: * Inconsistent information given to customers * Poor communication * Lack of basic customer service and courtesy from management If the pizza department stops taking orders earlier than the posted or communicated closing time, that should be clearly stated and consistently enforced. More importantly, customers should be treated with respect and professionalism. I plan to follow up directly with the store manager, as I believe this experience does not reflect the level of service Fresh by Brookshire's should stand for.
