We thought they were "okay" but not spectacular. I've changed my mind! They staff is incredibly nice and down to earth. The meat is excellent--my go to places in MA have gotten pretty disappointing with meat that's clearly low grade, but not Roy's--their steaks & marinated meats are unmatched with anyplace else I can compare them to and the prices are very fair. The ambience is great if you want to be in an old school place that's 100% like grocery stores in the 1960s. Lastly, their prepared foods (especially the cranberry chicken salad) are the BEST anywhere and put all the other stores I've been to in recent years to shame.

They have a lot of specialty cooking and food prep items too so you could stop in for gift items. I am very suprised on how this place and Roys, walking distance from each other can function together but in reality the two make up basically two halves of a grocery store.
