One thing you'll notice as you walk about the store is that most of the signage is written crudely by hand. The other sign they are famous for is "when it's gone it's gone". The store is filled with brand name and not so brand-name products at cheap prices. They have a very large book selection, lots of bedding, garden items, decor, cards, snacks, grills, pet, kitchen appliances and more. The luggage had a store sticker that said "3 piece set", which made me excited to purchase. I got the luggage home to find that there was nothing else inside the "set". I returned with luggage piece on Sunday May 29th to be told that there was nothing that could be done. Aside from individually purchasing the remaining pieces or a refund. The reason I was given was "the higher ups have us do it that way". I took my refund and purchased luggage and the other products I was going to purchase elsewhere. She said that it was fine and ran her finger around the side and I asked her again to check it to make sure that it was ok and she said again that it was fine. When we got home I checked my butter dish and it was chipped on the side so I called burkes and told the the incident and she told me ok and then hung up on me. So like a week or 2 later I went back and I saw the same butter dish on the shelf not even on the clearance side and it was exactly were I saw it I love this store but if something is broken like that then you should put it in the clearance side. What I experienced today was just more decline in an already mess of a store. Packed clothing racks, with little in the right place, and clothes on the floor, purses piled on top of purses, and in the wrong areas. The dressing room is still dark and dingy. Once again, the women's plus area is impossible to shop in due to a total lack of organization. The Kerrville Belk has become one of the worst stores I have ever been in. Nothing changes for the better in this store. If anything, it continues to deteriorate. Even the once organized men's department is now in shambles. Belk used to be the go to department store in Kerrville, but no longer. Now it's just a dump. I have reached out to corporate more than once, and get the same reply.

This store is always a complete mess. That could probably be fixed if the workers weren't on…read morepermanent smoke breaks. When I asked for help from a lady with multicolored hair she told me "I don't know, I haven't worked all week". Okay...can you find out? She was then talking to the manager about a previous customer loud enough for all of us to hear. When you try to use the app they cannot help you at all and the never have the items that are on sale because the shelves aren't stocked. Neither of the other stores in Kerrville/Ingram are this way. Someone from corporate needs to come in and take over.

We came to see the small museum exhibit about the craftsman and his art form more than the store…read moreside. It's not very large, but you can get a nice idea of how jewelry was made, the forms, the designs, and the process as well. You can watch a few videos and sit in his old art desk, too. The other side has a lot of jewelry, which seems well-priced for what it is. I didn't get anything, but it's also nice to window shop sometimes. Parking is in a smaller lot, so it can fill up.

I hope they are using Ebay prices for items that actually sold, not what are being asked It is staffed by all volunteers and last year they gave $1 million to the Hill Country Youth Ranch. That sounds like a lot but given expenses have been exceeding revenue by over $1 million a year the Youth Ranch Foundation continues to cover it but their money won't last for ever. I have friends who moved to the Big Springs Ranch for Children in Leaky which is part of HCYR to be volunteer live in grand parents. Beautiful setting with a working ranch, charter school and chapel but I believe only 2 of their 6 cabins are in use now. It's hard to get staff when you are that far from a good sized town.
