My son liked the french fries a lot, and said he cheeseburger was "OK." I had the chili which while flavorful it did appear to lack anything beyond ground beef (no beans, tomatoes or onions that I could detect; and no cheese on top at all). The grilled cheese sandwich my other son had was actually pretty good despite looking burnt (oddly though, it wasn't). Overall it's not a place I'd rush back to, but it also isn't a place we'd avoid in the future either. Given the choices in the area, it's probably one of the better ones but don't get your expectations too high! Two things that bothered me were the first 15-20 minutes we were there, there was no music playing whatsoever. Once it came on, it really helped the ambiance of the place! Secondly, smoking is allowed; there was a customer at the bar and another one at one of the tables playing cards that were puffing away. I guess Lakehills isn't one of the many places in Texas that has banned smoking in restaurants or bars. It's been so long since I've seen anyone doing so in an eatery it was a bit of a surprise. While the fans did a good job of displacing the smoke, it was noticeable and not a pleasant addition. If anything, that is more likely to keep us from returning to Adolph's more than anything else. Lastly, calling this place a "store" is a stretch. What used to be a store is now "store-age." It's a bar with tables to eat at. That said, it doesn't have a TABC 51% sign at the door so the majority of its sales are not alcohol.
