I guess my preconceived notions of what it might or might not be caused me to overlook this hidden gem. This store has a little bit of everything from groceries to housewares to games to party favors to cards to seasonal items -- just about everything you might want or need at only $1 each. I send a ton of cards: birthday, sympathy, thank you, contratulations, etc. At a regular store, even Walmart, five cards can bust your budget. Not so here. The cards are not castaways. They are Hallmark and other name brand cards, the likes of which would be found in other stores, BUT ... they are only $1 apiece. The employees here are friendly and helpful, the store has always been neatly blocked and stocked. The seasonal items are especially cool to look through (I got some cool Santa ornaments for only $1) Did I say "only $1"? You betcha. Try this out and you'll be hooked.

I shop at dollar general at least one time a week, if I do not my husband does. I came to the…read morecounter to ring up and got 4 items from the clearance section in addition to my normal $25 or more to use my coupon. The 4 items were 2 Suave mens products and 2 head and shoulders products. When I got up there the lady at the register said she refused to sell me those items due to they clearance should have not have been marked down that low. One Suave was $1.75 and the the other $1.50. The other 2 items we .40 and .15. I told her I didn't understand why she was unable to sell them to me, and she starts yelling. I asked her why she was yelling at me, she responded with, because you don't seem to understand what I am telling you. I asked if I could talk to the manager and she said she was the manager. She was the manager and agreed to sell me 2 out of the 4 items, but I needed to get 6 dollars more to use my coupons and I could not use my coupons on any of those items. I agreed & went to get the other items. Upon returning within 5 minutes she had went to the bank. The other cashier stated she was unable to give me those items cause she did not hear her say that. I had her call her. Once restated I could have the 2 out of the 4, the new cashier told me I was unable to use my manufactures coupons for the other items that did not have a dollar store coupon. While she tried to discount the 2 clearance items, 2 other customers had walked out, leaving their items in line. She was unable to complete the transaction and after 15 minutes I had left. I was not rude to them, I did not raise my voice and I did not use profanity, but I will not shop at that dollar store again. If I could give it negative 25 stars, I would.

They do have smiling faces and always willing to step away from the register and help you with your needs even though there's only like 10 Isles. They know where everything is, they know their products, they know what they do have and don't have which is oh so great! This is a must go to if you're going to the nearby movies because they stock perfectly $1 priced boxed movie Style candy for all of our pleasures and needs! The Isles are all cleaned and they even have holiday items at least a month and a half ahead of time ready to go. This is a great place to get some cheap toys also for kids in addition to party favors and even if you just want to Window Shop and tease your children, this is the perfect place to go. They have balloons Galore for last-minute pickups and celebrations in all the kitchen utensils you could ask for. For some reason every Dollar Tree does not pay attention to that little detail but this one does.

When I return to her cash register shortly thereafter to exchange them, she said that she didn't remember me and couldn't find those items anywhere. Absolutely unapologetic theft. Stay far away.
