It's that time of year again…read more Every years with give Friends and Business Associates a little gift which in most cases is a bottle of the Biltmore Estates Christmas Wine. We've already bought the wine a couple of weeks ago at Total Wine in Huntersville but now in pursuit of some nice Christmas Wine Bags. These are normally readily available this time of year in Dollar Stores. There is one not too far from here but since we were going over to Lincolnton for Lunch at Italiano's , my wife pointed out that we were going to be going past a Dollar General and we could stop there. Neither of us had ever been to this particular store. We stopped in and it appears that Christmas Wine Gift Bags are not out yet but expected in after Halloween. They did have some other nice Christmas Shopping Bags however, so we picked up a couple of those. Store is very nice and well organized, and the store staff is very helpful. Since we are in Lincolnton a couple of times a year, we will definitely be back as it gets closer to Christmas.

While this is the closest Dollar General to my house, we rarely get over there. It's at the corner…read moreof NC Hwy 16 South Business and Old Plank Road. It's one of the oldest stores in the Dollar General family is stores and it's long overdue for a remodel. It's dimly lit with just the windows in front for illumination which gives it dirty, cramped and damp feel. The artificial lights can only do so much. For us, we normally shop at the Dollar General in Iron Station off of NC Hwy 73 since we are in Lincolnton at least once a week. We have also shopped at the one in Denver up Business 16 North. In general, we only stop by when we are going to the Lowesville Cafe or Mike's Discount Growers. We only shop there maybe 4 or 5 times a year, normally to pick up wrapping paper, gift bags and things like Cleaning Supplies. We stopped by just before Christmas because the other Dollar General was out of the Christmas Boxes we were looking for. This one did have them. Still they had what we wanted. Staff is very small but they do try to be helpful.

This store is filthy, shelves are not stocked, the employees stand in front of the store smoking,…read morethen throw their cigarettes on the ground, they talk on their cell phones while working, including while they are ringing up customers. Employees rarely wear uniforms. The gentleman that works there looks like he just rolled out bed, looking disheveled and always wearing a wrinkled, faded tee shirt. 2 thumbs down for this Dollar General location.
