I'm glad to see these Dollar General super markets arrive. Dollar General is one of those chains that offers good values, if you are alert to prices everywhere. This store has loads of groceries and they're at the same, usually reasonable prices that the typical Dollar General stores have. I was looking for a couple of drinks and snacks with a buddy, and remembered that this store was here, a bit far from Hatch Road, but accessible, especially since it's close to the skate park. I've been in a couple of the stores up on Hatch Road, and they tend to be expensive. For example, Dollar General is charging $1.49 for the original Mountain Dew 2 liter bottles, and $1.00 for Code Red, whereas you'll pay $1.99 elsewhere for the original and you might not find Code Red at all. On the other hand, Mountain Dew Kickstart cans are $1.49 each, and you can find them for $0.99 and $1.00 at Walmart and Target. Going to ARCO or Chevron is going to be higher, of course. BEWARE of FAKE REVIEWS! My two teenagers told me that at checkout, they are being asked for their phones. My children are kind, polite and follow directions, so they hand over their phones. What's happening is, the checkout clerk is going onto the phone's internet browser and to whatever site, the clerk is posting a review for a positive rating. I called the Dollar General in Ceres in the Richland Shopping Center and supposedly spoke with the Manager. When I explained my concern, all she said was, "Ok" in a demeaning manner. There was no offer of apology. Either way, I am looking to take this to their corporate office, because for one; my children are minors, the fake ratings are FRAUDULENT, and nobody should be taking anybody's phone for liability purposes. My son explained that his friends are also told to hand over their phones. This is not acceptable. read more

I appreciate this store. I highly recommend it they have a variety of items from groceries, cleaning products and personal hygiene stuff. The best affordable prices and deals. I should have read the reviews before going to this store. The actual store was clean but the cashier was Very rude. With the situation at hand of the covid19, everyone was at precaution but she rang up my items and walked away. Came back to push her few buttons and left again as i was grabbing my items. The employee Manda, was the rudest employee I've ever came in contact with at the Ceres store. She had a look of disgust and was harassing me because I am a lesbian. Sad its 2020 I should not feel like I am being judge and told out loud your kind is not allowed here. WOW I never thought I would hear something like that from any human. She continued with people like you are hazardous to other woman while she continued to stare me down. I've never felt so treated. I went to this store in Ceres, Ca. @ withmore because of supposedly good prices and savings. But after checking out, I had to wait like what what it seemed like 15 minutes. There were only 2 registers open but it was taking a long time. I only needed to buy laundry detergent and I figure, well..in this kind of store definitely I'm going to save a little for sure. To make the story short, when I was ready to "save" and pay with my debit card, the small atm kind of device, showed so prominently "DO YOU WANT CASH BACK" which I said to myself, well..how convenient, yes, I need some cash back for sure to get quarters. Well, it didn't work, because the cashier said "NO QUARTERS".And they charged 1 dollar just to get those lousy $10. (The machine don't show you "SO PROMINENTLY That will charge you for that little change for sure" If it did, probably was in fine print..lol So, as you can see..there's go MY SAVINGS! read more

On May 15th me and my daughter were in store the clerk was so worried about charging for bags she gave us every one except 1 she pack the bags and pushed away from us then she put them in our cart when I got home I realized she forgot one bag about 10 minutes later I realized this I called the store told them they said yes we have your bag come in n get it too me about 5 minutes to get there, the same girl who help us walked up to me acting like she didn't know me n said no you can't have your bag it isn't here I said I just talked to someone she cut me off saying well it wasn't me I was so mad I said well you didn't say they on the phone they u need my receipt I left it home it just happened look in your receipts she refused I told her I was calling corporate never will go here again they do this all the time she probably kept my groceries for herself read more

Staff sucks and are very rude. They have a few good deals, but Wal-Mart still beats their prices. The only good thing about this store is the lines are always to a minimum. If I want a few items, I will go here instead of to the other big box stores. Otherwise I do not waste my time. read more

This Dollar General is the worst store in California. The employees are always mad and have an attitude. Management is the worst in history. You are promised that products will be there the same week and this never happens. Furthermore, I have heard the employees state that they are going to party and smoke marajuana on there days off and that their manager "Matthew" allows this and that he cant do anything to them. I was looking for a nice store to shop and it seems like the store is out of control. The store is always a mess, just like all the other dollar stores I have visited throughout California. I have bought produce from the store and it was rotten. I am never greeted and I have never been told to have a good day when I leave. This store needs severe improvement and new employees. Terrible management from the top down. New district managers every few months and store managers only last a year or so can't move up the ladder because management picks there favorites non Union they will try to get rid of you for anything. High turnover rate. If you have a problem while working there management ignores you and the corporate number is an over seas phone call that doesn't have a result. Hard workers are shown the door while people who hide behind desks blame anyone else so they don't get into trouble.
