The one star this time is for the store itself. The floor tiling is black and falling apart. Some tiles are missing and the entry way is so uninviting. The store desperately needs a deep cleaning or a complete redo haul. The one star is also for the peanuts I bought. I thought stores has to have certain standards about perishable foods. I know it's only $0.59 but the Fritos "munchies" brand peanuts I got expired in June 2019. It's October 2019. They definitely tasted expired as well. Make sure you check every food and drink item you buy here. I didn't but I only ate 2 peanuts so I won't die lol. I love you big lots, but I can't stand the store looks & the carelessness of expired items they're selling. The store is well stocked and organized and I like the staff, I just can't get over the nasty black dirtied floors and expired food. Per the website I took the items in without an appointment. I was greeted with an attitude since my items were all on hangers from the cleaners. I was told they would only be accepted folded and in a bin or basket. I told the young lady that it would be nice if that was on the website. She said "it's on there somewhere you just didn't look". I went and got a bin, folded the clothes and returned at 10:20. She checked in my tote and told me it would be 2-3 days before I'd hear from the store. At 3:00 the same afternoon I received a text that they were unable to buy any of my items and that I had until the end of the day to pick them up. I called the store and asked if I could pick up the items the next day I was told, "if they're not picked up today they will be donated". My wife was nearby, she called and asked if she could pick up for me. She was told it had to be me. So I drove back to the store from Odessa to pickup the items. When I asked why they couldn't be bought she told me because of the smell. Total lie, they came from a smoke free home, some had only been worn once and all had been dry cleaned before attempting to sell. I'm attaching some photos as proof. The customer service from Lupita, I asked for her name, was as poor as I've ever experienced. I will never be back. Be aware!
