Hayfork Discount is anchoring the busy end of the village strip..... next to the laundromat and Roping Rhonda's bar. [Oh, yeah, there are also two bars in Hayfork....] Hayfork Discount is pretty much equivalent with Wiley's. Wiley's has a few different frozen food and fresh meat choices; Hayfork Discount tends to have a little bit cheaper prices on dairy products. HD also has hard alcohol, whereas I believe Wiley's is beer-and-wine. Prices are high in Hayfork -- raising transportation costs really hit this town hard. The cashiers are friendly.

Thus began my bud's confounding streak of managing to piss off a wide swath of local humanity in small communities throughout NorCali and Oregon Casade Country.
