Each person that contacted me told me that Tom Hall Auctions is a great auction and they follow them. I was told the people there are honest and very nice. On November 20th I was able to bid online and win the painting! It was the first time I ever bought anything at an online auction. The process was very easy. I now follow them myself! Let me also say that when I went to pick up the painting I was met by several of the nicest people I ever met! They really took their time with me and the one employee listened to my long story of my search with much interest. He was the one who helped me carry it to my friend's truck. I was worried he would get in trouble for talking with me too long. It made me feel good that they treated him so nice also and did not try to rush him away. Catherine was GREAT! (Not to mention very pretty!) I think she was either an owner or an operator of the business. She made me feel good when she said how beautiful she thought the painting was. By the way it was my Great Grandfather who painted it! Let me end by saying they all really treated me special and were very professional in every way. I left with this feeling I was leaving family! Today, I went to use HiBid to bid on some artwork, only to discover that Tom Hall Auctions…read moremaliciously flagged my account on the platform as "doesn't pay shipping." This is a completely false mark designed to damage my reputation as a buyer, despite them acknowledging their original failure to ship my items over a year ago. When I called to address this, "Catherine" was extremely unprofessional. She claimed she reported my review to Google to have it removed because my experience "wasn't valid," and openly admitted that my account was flagged on HiBid in retaliation for my feedback. She also falsely claimed it is illegal to name individuals in reviews. For the record, under the federal Consumer Review Fairness Act, consumers have the legal right to share truthful experiences without business retaliation or threats. I have formally reported this weaponization of buyer feedback to HiBid support, am submitting a complaint to the Better Business Bureau, and will be cross-posting my 1-star review to their Facebook page so other buyers are aware of these business practices. Here is my initial review: I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Tom Hall Auctions through the HiBid platform. I placed an order on October 28, and as of November 13, I have yet to receive any follow-up on the shipment of my items, despite numerous emails and voicemails. I do want to stress that the amount we spent was of higher $$$. So, you can understand our deep concern when we were not receiving ANY follow up to our questions on when items would be shipped... When I finally received a call from Paul at Tom Hall Auctions, he admitted they had not returned my messages and still had not shipped the items. He informed me that the shipping costs could be up to $1000 to $2000, which is outrageous. Due to the lack of communication and significant delays, I marked the transaction as fraud and reported my concerns to HiBid. Paul then got rather rude, stating he would report me to HiBid, which could prevent me from participating in future auctions, all without ever apologizing or attempting to make it right. He immediately went to "I'm going to report you" after acknowledging they made a mistake. I want to save people the headache of the unprofessionalism and wasting their money. This experience has been extremely frustrating, and the customer service from Tom Hall Auctions was unacceptable. HiBid has confirmed that they cannot block or delete my account and acknowledged that what Paul stated was very unprofessional. They have noted this incident for future reference and reached out to Tom Hall Auctions to emphasize that not returning phone calls and emails to customers is not appropriate. If you look at other reviews, the shipping charges and timely shipping is also noted to be horrible. I felt it important to let others know. Their excuses in prior responses stating that they list their auctions on multiple sites and get multiple views still do not give them the right to be unprofessional and not respond in a timely manner to people who purchased through their company. I would not recommend this auction company to anyone, especially if you value timely communication and professional service.

Lehigh Valley Comic Convention now uses two separate venues, as they run at both the Lehigh Carbon…read moreCommunity College and the Allentown Fairgrounds Agri-Plex. The Lehigh Carbon Community College events are smaller but usually have a respectable number of dealers and several guests, with free parking. In 2024, the convention made a major change by having an event at the Allentown Fairgrounds Agri-Plex. This was a badly needed move as prior to this, the convention was feeling stale and running too many events per year at the community college. The Agri-Plex allowed to them to have two large open rooms for vendors, guests, and an on-site food stand. Biggest challenges were the lines to get in as the attendance was larger than expected and crowding at the entrance among the vendors. Vendor selection was good offering a wide variety of comics and toys. For 2025 the convention returned to the Agri-Plex, and had another large crowd with the line to get in still strong even several hours after opening despite the wet weather. There was still enough parking even with the crowd. Layout was largely the same. Comic vendors came in all sizes and price points, with there being everything from quarter book boxes to wall books worth hundreds of dollars. The convention also had guests, display vehicles, and toy vendors. It was an easy event to attend with a low-ticket price and was worth my time. Overall, the Lehigh Valley Comic Convention's event at the Agri-Plex has been a major success and brought needed changes to the convention. While it's not the size of something like FAN EXPO Philadelphia, it's also much cheaper and easier to access. You could bring the family here, get some comic books, eat, and not go bankrupt. The expansion to two days and dates in June for 2026 will be interesting and I look forward to attending.
