I saw that there was a Publix in Pigeon Forge and knew that's where we'd need to go to get our picnic supplies! Because we had flown in (and didn't have picnic basket on our pack list), I knew that we needed to get a small cooler to keep our drinks and sandwiches cool on the warm spring day. Fortunately, Publix had a nice variety of small lunch box size coolers and we found one for a reasonable price that was perfect for what we needed and would collapse down for easy packing to bring it home. We then made our way to the deli and got fresh, deli made sandwiches made with boar's head meats and cheeses. They're fully customizable and we very much enjoyed them! We were also able to grab some fruit, pretzel crisps, boar's head hummus, and bottled beverages to round out our picnic. Everything was great, prices were reasonable, and we enjoyed a beautiful picnic in this beautiful area. One note would be that the deli does get busy. We were there in the ease of spring (ie: no big National Park crowds) and we still had to wait in a bit of a line for our deli sandwiches. So, just something to factor into scheduling. That said, we didn't mind a bit and the sandwiches were worth the wait. Get to it!

It was located at the intersection of Great Smoky Mountains Pkwy and Wears Valley Rd. The store was clean, well organized, and well maintained. I was able to easily find what I needed. Prices weren't the best, but there were some deals here and there. I bought 2 bags of Boulder Canyon chips for $8 and a gallon of Publix drinking water for $1.43. It was quicker and very convenient for me to pay for my items while using one of the self checkout kiosks and be on my way.

Immediately, my husband looked up the zip code for where we would be staying in Sevierville and found that there was an Ollie's located nearby. It became one of our first stops on the itinerary. This store was comparable in size to the one located near our home in Carmel, IN and the layout was similar as well. The staff was kind, and I loved everyone's Southern accents and hospitality. The deals were good, too. Shoppers were really stocking up! I saw one person purchase every ironing board that they had on the sales floor. Something tells me they were purchasing them for resale. We purchased a few items, but not too many since we had limited space in our vehicle for this road-trip, but we were happy to be able to participate.

I get there at 5:10pm and let them know I am there for an interview, they tell me to sit and wait. I wait for 40 minutes, 20 minutes past my scheduled interview, and no one is in sight and employees are on their phones not bothering to pay attention to the man waiting for damn near an hour. If the manager can't handle something as simple as interviews they need to be replaced.

Today the guy on the cash register asked why we bag our items with the grocery bags. Does Kroger employees go to health safety training? It is also raining and we do not want our food rained at and get ruined by the rain water specially the dry goods since the molds will form on the dry goods. I never heard any complaint from the Publix cashiers. They are all very courteous and polite to their customers. If the cashiers find it inconvenient to scan our groceries, why work there?
