It has all the ambience on the Broadway market without having to leave my suburban neighborhood. I've been focused on Tavern style fish fries throughout this Lenten season. But today was only Thursday and the Market in the Square's deli doesn't serve beer battered fish until Friday. But imagine my surprise when I saw beer-batter fish in the prepared meals section of the deli. For $15 I got two huge beer-battered haddock cutlets, which when air fried are absolutely flavorful, crunchy coating and the fish is tender and tasty! I prepared all my homemade sides and tartar sauce, served it with a lemon and some rye! I sure didn't miss paying $52 at a restaurant for this tasty meal which served 3 people! I thoroughly enjoy the selection of fresh lilies and tulips in pots near the front of the store Cashiers are very helpful, pleasant, and caring.

Cashiers are always friendly and during my most recent trip, almost all the registers were open even though I went during an off-peak time (1:30 on a Friday). The new safety precautions make checking out feel safe and easy, as they installed barriers at the checkouts, and floor signage to maintain social distancing. The other shoppers who were there at the same time as me were also respecting social distancing. Overall, this is still a great location and definitely one of the best, if not the best, Wegmans locations in the area!

The parking spots are narrower than suburban locations, but there is a lot of parking. The store felt slightly more cramped than my go-to location, even shopping with a small cart was tight to navigate through the produce section and the aisles were busy with shoppers and staff restocking. It's also a busy location, even on a Friday afternoon. But the store was clean and well organized, and they had a lot of registers open and staffed by courteous cashiers. The quality and selection of their food is fantastic, better than most grocery stores in the area.

You might not snag a spot close to the entrance but you'll find a spot. Might I suggest that patience is basically required, as with all things Wegmans. Once inside, I'm almost always overwhelmed (in the best way) by how much there is. Prepared foods, deli counter, meat and seafood, bakery, flowers, produce, frozen foods. You name it, Wegmans has it and they probably have a Wegmans branded version, too. I love browsing the craft beer section and, more recently, the growing selection of non-alcoholic options (Thank you, Wegmans!). Honestly, I can't complain. Yes, Wegmans can feel overwhelming, but now that I don't actually work there anymore, I've grown to appreciate the variety, freshness, quality, and pricing.
