Recently, there was suspicious activity on my unit as well as several other units. I requested them to file a police report and they refused. Someone had placed a lock on my unit and others units. The storage unit drilled off my lock and put their lock on my unit and the following day my items were stolen. They refused to be held responsible, were dismissive and were unwilling to assist the police in investigating the theft. I was told by the district manager Amanda that I would need to file thru my insurance (raising my rates) and she couldn't discuss why she wouldn't assist the police as it was "company policy". This is not a secure facility. If you have a unit there, get your things out before they disappear.

I walked back in and the gentleman informs me I must punch "*" then "#" then enter. I offer a suggestion "Why don't you place a label on the keypad stating this. Instead of answering my question he states "I can give you a paper card and write this info" on it, I state my suggestion again, he repeats. When I arrived, I was told the dolly was unavailable despite it being included in my reservation. I understand inventory issues happen, but moving heavy items without equipment you planned and paid for creates a major inconvenience. What made this especially frustrating was how dismissive the response felt. If the reserved equipment was unavailable, the least the staff could have done was help locate another nearby U-Haul location where we could have gotten one instead of simply sending us on our way without a solution. What added to the frustration was the disconnect between the advertised pricing and the actual cost once mileage and other charges were added. The initial compensation offered for the inconvenience was $9, which honestly felt dismissive and inadequate given the situation. After further communication, the General Manager did increase it to $25, and I do appreciate that he remained professional and responsive throughout the process. Overall, I left feeling like customer expectations are set one way online, while the reality at pickup can be very different. Not the worst experience I've ever had, but definitely not one I'd enthusiastically recommend either.

I find it really shocking that I was charged a 27% increase on my unit for no reason or explanation. I called three times and left messages right after I was charged, as I thought it was an error on their end. I talked to Kyle and asked him why I was charged, and I was not notified by phone or email. Kyle said he would send in a complaint about it to corporate after our lengthy conversation, but it was not even done. I also told him because of the addition of $50 a month I would be leaving asap. I was sent a copy of the PDF increase 30 days after the increase was charged to my account. It shows on the PDF that they give their customers a 3-day notice for a 27% increase, which was $50 over my monthly payment. A 3-day notice, so their customers may not have an opportunity to make a decision to stay or leave. I have been waiting for a call or response but did not receive any communication from anyone at this location in this matter until I called back to confirm I already moved from this location. Sad that this company has to do this to make money by putting people in a difficult position of having to move or forced to pay this ridiculous increase. I will never use your company again and will share my experience with everyone I can, so they do get forced to make a decision like I had to. Again, it is really sad that this company has to take advantage of their own customers to make extra money. All together, it is a wrong and unethical practice. I can't imagine doing that to anyone in my business.
