I love coming to dollar tree, I'm sorry one twenty-five tree. This location always seems to have one person at the register. But I do appreciate how big this location is. The fact that its steps from the Broadway N/W station is a huge plus. I tend to come here when there's something out of stock at the steinway location. Their order and pickup runs very smoothly. I'm really impressed with their location. They lose a star because some aisles are too small for someone who is handicapped using a wheel chair. It's hard to go down one aisle with someone in general. At times, I felt like I couldn't be in the aisle alone. In this particular location the older people tend to think anyone who is young works there. It's pretty funny, and I play along like I do and help them. So if you're coming here, expect to have some small talk with the older generation. read more

This Dollar Tree is very chaotic and overstimulating. There's always a long line to check out, shelves look ransacked like the apocalypse happened. I initially came here for egg dye kits around Easter time which were, of course, sold out. I was also heading to the movies, so decided to save myself some money by grabbing some candy from here, which was well stocked but also behind some plexiglass that you could reach your hand into...I guess to make it harder to steal but not impossible? Who knows. The line to check out too me around 15 minutes or so this day, but I was happy to see that at least their candy section was well stocked. This is one of the only true dollar stores left in the area, so I guess beggars can't be choosers. I still prefer the one on Northern Blvd to this one. read more

Recently, I scored a neck fan for under $10. They were selling out elsewhere. Do not go to this dollar store the manager is very useless. I walked up to her. I asked her. So please open up a line cause there was literally 40 people in one line waiting. She told me that her keys are locked in the room and she didn't know how to open up the door to get inside the room and there was a guy that also works there chilling just hanging out next to her leaving everything on the other employee. There's no monitor here to the point where anyone can walk in and steal anything they want. I don't know how I had patience tonight to really sit in that line but I did. I was respectful. I was quiet. Whoever the manager is she needs to get fired. That is not right, but they're doing they're leaving all the work on one person. Everything was scattered on the shelf. Nothing was stocked at all, and the fridge was barely stocked at all very unprofessional very dirty inside the store and very horrible. I will never go back to this dollar store ever again. The customer service was a 0.0. Do not go to this dollar store you're better off going to the stores where they sell everything for retail and not resell. It's better spending a few more dollars to get taken care of professionally. Terrible customer service, terrible atmosphere and terrible people working there. The only person that was good. Every time I go here there is an issue. Actually the same issue I encountered a few months ago when I went. I attempted to purchase some vinyl craft paper a few months ago it was marked at half off. When I took it up to the register, they threw it off to the side and said "we can't sell this to you. It doesn't work"... So I go back today and the same assortment of paper is for sale. The cashier threw it behind her. I looked up and she said "we can't sell this to you." I asked if I could have it kind of jokingly and she said no. Understood. THEN she tells her coworker to go put the unsellable item BACK in the aisle. Why would you put it back if you cannot sell it??? This was rude and made no sense. The service was wonderful. I was there for 1/2 hour and found two service people to help me at different times the selection is very wide and they have a very clean place now. I am very happy. I recommend this but you have to watch out because it's not just $1.25 items they have family dollar items for Two dollars up to $10. There is also a manager's discount clearance cart as you enter. try to go there first the manager ram is very helpful very nice and very, very friendly. read more

Now it's the $1.25 tree but it's very close to the Broadway train station in Astoria. Decent selection of items and the price is definitely right. It's not the largest store and it took forever to get my items but if you're looking for Christmas items, party gear, stationery and the like you'll probably find it here. It's definitely on par with other discount stores in NYC that have decent selection and are clean. I'd go back if I were in the area. They also have headbands with reindeer ears and I was tempted to get a pair though didn't. read more

Stuff is either torn open or thrown on the floor, and don't even bother asking if there's anything in stock cuz you'll get the same usual response, "Whatever you see on the shelf is all we have." Cashier: Kris. Around 8:00pm. 08/04/2019 I simply asked if they take apple pay and she stopped everything and announced, "no, can you afford all of this?" I looked at her with shocked and felt embarrassed immediately. I just nodded and got really really uncomfortable. Not only did she let her emotions of tiredness and crabbiness get pass through her work ethics, but she dropped one of my products and put it back in the bag without asking me if I wanted another one that's cleaner. This used to be one of my favorite Dollar Tree locations in Queens, but the shopping experience at this location has taken a nose dive. I went in this morning around 10am and the first thing I noticed was that the stationery aisle was blocked off at both ends. One employee was "stocking" shelves. I watched him for a good five minutes and he wasn't doing anything that necessitated the aisle to be cut off from paying customers. Stock the shelves after business hours, not on a Sunday morning when the store is full of people. I also noticed the freezer section was mostly empty (now THAT needed stocking!) and the store overall felt very disorganized and dirty. I'm sure I'll return at some point in the future, but for now I'm annoyed and I wish I had used the time I spent here today at one of the other Queens locations. read more

Not a fan of this Dollar Tree. The only reason I visit this location is because it's at the base of my apartment building so it's very convenient in a pinch if you need something. However, the store is so unorganized and items that run low are not replaced often enough. They're slacking with keeping up with inventory. Additionally, they like to keep only one to two registers open, which leaves MASSIVE lines literally to the back of the store. It's really ridiculous - more often than not you'll be waiting on insanely long lines with only two resisters open up front while 4-5 other employees are just standing up front doing nothing. This place is pretty handy. You get a bunch of everyday stuff for really cheap prices. Throwing a party? Shot glass packets, disposable plates, cutlery etc. are all $1. Wanna take a dump in comfort? They have soft toilet seats for $5. Need to get rid of that impossible piece of meat stuck in between your teeth? $1 for dental floss. They have all kinds of random items that you can buy on the cheap. You can even get a bed sheet set for $10. Don't expect Egyptian cotton though. I bought a couple of birthday cards and they ran me a whopping 50c each. It's basically a $1+ store with most of the items in the $1 range. Definitely worth checking out. read more

Mask adherence by customers is abysmal, and there's no enforcement of it. I saw a woman wearing a ribbon as a mask. A ribbon. Other customers wear their masks under their chins and no one says a word. The line is always long, and there's minimal social distancing in the store. But everything is a dollar, so I can't stay away. read more

This place is now a Dollar Tree. It's still good though. They sell a wide variety of items for $1 each. Today, I bought a set of $8 hangers, two Mother's Day cards, a pair of socks, and facial tissues for $4 plus tax. The greeting cards were 50 cents each. CVS probably sells similar Mother's Day cards for four or five times the price of what I paid at Dollar Tree. The cashier also let me use a credit card for my small purchase, which was so convenient! It's not a beautiful store but it's fun to shop there knowing that you're not going to spend a lot of money. read more

I love this Dollar Tree store! The store is always organized, and the staff is very helpful. The only thing that I don't like is that they don't tend to carry the newer stuff other Dollar Tree stores carry. I Have been trying TO PHONE Dollar TREE on 31st STREET and the Dollar tree on 20th AVENUE....for a few hours today Sunday, JULY 11TH I had to go there to find out they did not have what I was looking...and I really needed these particular items all due to incompetent employees that cannot answer the telephone I would have saved myself time they think by saying "Sorry" gets them off the hook not after they provide the same service constantly...why does DOLLAR TREE Hire Incompetent employees...there was a recording the phone recording call back later and this recording was on for a few hours the entire afternoon....they should qualified people that show up an are responsible and can answer a common sense question and they are coherent for the work shift and not smoking weed...weed maybe legal but not when you have to show up for work and use a cash register and comprehend basic common sense question...do you agree CORPORATE I do hope you are reading this and maybe this store could POSSIBLY IMPROVE? read more

I think I have a love-hate relationship with this place and struggled whether to give them 3 or 4 stars, but I think I'll give them the edge on this one. The Good: Basically everything you need under a tight budget, ranging from toys (albeit pretty generic quality and potentially carries lead...jk) to $1 cards to candy to canned foods to frozen dinners to toiletries. This is my pit stop whenever I need to restock on items or for household products like pots, toilet paper, etc. The deals they offer on their products are AWESOME! I usually pay $5 for 12 rolls of toilet paper and get the $5 frozen chicken breasts package. They also have some really good frozen wings and chicken strips which I'll occasionally buy. They have great deals for boxed pastas as well that I capitalize on from time to time. The Bad: There is not a lack of variety in the products they offer, but all are mediocre, especially the ones that are not brand-name, though that should obviously be a given. I got some mouthwash one time and it was pretty horrible tasting and failed to leave a minty breath in my mouth. But hey, I get what I paid for. The Ugly: The service here is probably what gets me each time. There aren't too many workers around, and helpful ones are even harder to find. Usually they operate the check-out lines EXTREMELY slowly and even when there are a couple people lounging around doing nothing, they don't open up another line when the check-out lines get super long. Even when it's obvious they should be working faster, they just lackadaisically place items in the bags as though they were bored instead of getting paid to do a job. But I still award 4 stars because I think they have a wide range of supplies for a great price. I'll continue to come here for my daily essentials! read more

Forget the 99 cent stores on Steinway; here you can get a four pack of toilet paper rather than the single rolls at those other places, sure it might be a little more money but 4 rolls as opposed to one is worth it. Great deals, I guess that's why the name of the store is Deals. I love & hate coming here, because I always come here with a set amount of money to spend but I ALWAYS go over that limit. You can find just about anything is here. I have been waiting square dinner plates for a while and she shocked to find that they sold them here and for only $1.00. The quality of the plates were very good for such a cheap price. The staff can be a little unprofessional but they are nice, friendly, and talkative to customers. Which in my opinion is a good thing. Sometimes the store is a little disorganized but that's to be excepted with the amount of people that shop here. It maybe be a little disorganized but you can definitely find what your looking for. My first and last time in this place. I found what I was looking for -- an old school item for my travel kit -- but the cashier didn't know what she was doing and called the manager over a bunch of times. Two people in line behind me just left their stuff on the conveyor belt and walked out. When the lady in front of me started fussing with the cashier (who literally could not count change without assurance), a few of us groaned. Instead of just ringing the lady up, though, she started making rude comments to me that she'd take two days to count the change. A few more of us left and I stopped to speak to the manager. She was just rude and tossed everyone's merchandise to the side. Why bother with such a place? The manager seemed pleasant enough but wasn't sure what to do with her increasingly rude behavior. Being from the South and living in New York you miss the Dollar Store but Deal$ is my Dollar Tree on crack! Deal$ has blown Dollar Tree out of the water. Why? There's a frozen aisle in the back! I got a bag of chicken tenders for a $1!! I'm so happy. They even have milk and eggs in the back as well. I know the food items are not quality but if you're on a budget or need to make a bundle of food, it's such a great option. Not everything is a dollar but everything is very discounted. So a little disclaimer, I have never actually been inside this store. BUT! my mom was- she was suddenly very sick while visiting this store- and was on the verge of passing out. She asked for some water and a worker there gave her a bottle. She ended up being hospitalized, & I am so grateful the staff there reacted quickly and graciously. A few weeks after she was discharged from the hospital, she went in to thank the worker and pay for the water bottle- but they refused the money and gave her well wishes to get better. To me, this shows a lot about them. Especially when, so often, we hear on the news about people getting hurt, or dying with bystanders doing nothing. This former Deal$ became a Dollar Tree (everythings a dollar) apparently after they merged with Family Dollar, assuming that the Family Dollar about two blocks away would sell all the items that cost more than $1.00. This place is great for what it is! They carry a wide variety of things you would expect to find in a discount store. Stationary, cleaning supplies, soap, frozen food, seasonal items, etc. with a few obscure 99 cent store type items thrown in. For example, I got two of those paper toys that grow crystals when you add the solution to the plastic tray for a dollar each. I haven't seen those since the 90s! Perhaps I am easily amused, but this sort of thing makes me happy! There are a bunch of discount stores in the area and here is how I would rate them: Home Mark 99 Cent Store: this is giant store that's kind of like a mixture of a 99 cent store and a cheap close out store, though the prices on some items are inflated. You have to dig. It has a 99 cent store vibe but is the size of a supermarket and if you're looking for a basic, random, cheap thing (hole puncher, bubble mailer, key covers, hammer, coloring book, etc)this is a good place to try. They also copy keys. Family Dollar: this is a chain store and it's kind of like a tiny, less expensive Kmart. It's clean and the prices are very low. They carry a smaller selection of pretty much everything you would find in a store like Kmart. Deals: Family Dollar meets Odd Lot. It's clean and carries brand name stuff for cheap, including the things you'd find in Family Dollar. There are also random bizarre things thrown in, such as the crystal growing toys I mentioned above that make shopping in this place pretty fun! read more

So this place has been around for a while now and you just can't go wrong with it! If I want to pick up any small things or simple things like scotch tape, cards, wrapping paper, inexpensive party gift stuff- they have it all. It's like a Rite Aid but you're paying so much less for the same stuff. Also there are never long lines and it's never any trouble to find someone to ask for help. I recently came here to pick up some Halloween decorations and was able to purchase multiple things and my bill didn't even break 30 bucks. For all those little things you end up buying at Rite Aid, CVS, etc... Save yourself a trip and some cash and just stop in here if you can! read more

The deals in the store are pretty good but a few items aren't really cheaper than what you can find somewhere else, it's just a few though. I love this place. Its a chain, theres another on steinway that i frequent as well. Most things aren't mot than $5, & a lot are $1. From decorations to balloons to glassware to phone charhers, they have a lot of variety for the cheap!
