This place has been around for ages. I know if I can't find something at other supermarkets/ drug stores than price wise will probably have it. The staff here is usually very helpful. The space is narrow isles but the shelves are packed in with all different types of products. Cleaning, shampoos, bug spray, school supplies, laundry products. You name it Price Wise probably has it. Their prices of items are also pretty reasonable. Find some stuff cheaper here than at other drug stores. I recommend this shop for sure. read more

Price Wise Discount has been here as long as I can remember. Periodically I have to take more photos and do a review because mine are missing. I realized that when I went in last week. I was greeted with a big Hello when I stepped in. There's tons of employees. I saw about three stocking shelves and a couple checking the items on the shelves for the next order. In the front there's two ladies behind the counter for check out. This is a great store when you want health care items and items for personal hygiene. Price Wise, New York, is jam-packed with all the necessary things of life. This time I needed a new water filter pitcher, Pond's cold cream, dry shampoo, a potato chip snack and sewing needles. Really, they carry whatever sundries I need, and more. All in a long, narrow-aisled wonderland of inventory. I travel to this Price Wise since the UWS Broadway store closed. You do need to compare prices. However, there are some things here that are way cheaper than other places. I found some plastic gloves for cleaning here that were way cheaper, dish soap, garbage bags, etc.I saw a cheaper than normal heating pad, and they have some office supplies for a good price. I personally would avoid any oil-based vitamin supplements as those can get rancid easily if old or not stored properly. The check out is super fast. Whenever I asked for help they were friendly. Around the holidays I got an amazing light up tree here for only $20 that looked very expensive, and a lot of decorations, tinsel, etc all for very cheap. They have a large makeup section as well, nail polish and some small appliances like toaster type things. read more

Great little family run store that surprises on many levels. Not really a cheapo .99 cent store, not really a drugstore, but more like a jack of all trades kind of shop that offers name brands products at highly competative prices. Rows upon rows of items are stacked high here. Many of which will save you mucho dinero over the supermarkets, bodegas, and corner grocers in the area. Each time I have been here I usually walk out with a few bargains. Staff is helpful and pleasant. Gotta support these little family run businesses, as they offer great deals. I love saving money! When I think discount superstore I think $0.99. I think cheaply made synthetic materials. I think: better deal than I'd get elsewhere. This turns out to mostly be just an odd drugstore. The price labels are all in bright orange stickers on the front of every item and you're sure to get items like shampoo, socks, and razors for a dollar or so under the bigger guys. Don't expect $0.99 shenanigans but the quality and brands remains high so your hair won't turn to straw either. It's a family run operation so I can surely get behind it. read more

The prices are pretty great for cleaners and home necessities (tp, paper towels, etc.). I compared the prices with the CVS and Duane Reade nearby and Price Wise was considerably less. Price Wise Discount is by far the best place to shop for soap, detergent, toothpaste, paperclips, mops, etc. Their selection of merchandise dwarfs that of Duane Reade / CVS. Duane Reade is gigantic, but if you want a bar of soap they actually only have about 5 options (if that). Price Wise is a small fraction of the size of Duane Reade, but they have about 30 different bars of soap to choose from. This is one of the best-stocked stores I have ever been in -especially considering their square footage is limited. They don't waste an inch. They also stock a range of Aveeno products including Aveeno Eczema, which can be hard to find. If you like hard to find soaps, this is your place. Prices are also quite competitive, and are usually the cheapest I can find. This place is a true hidden gem (hidden in plain sight actually). Even the Bazzini brand chocolate covered almonds (that I buy wherever I go), are about 50 cents cheaper here, than in other places. read more

This place is glorious!! Prices are usually lower than average, and when they aren't, they certainly aren't higher than anywhere else around. The main reason for the 5 stars though is that they have everything here - literally everything. I've bought everything from envelopes to school supplies to extension cords to pantyhose to lightbulbs to press-on nails to batteries to jewelry cleaner. They somehow manage to pack everything that ever existed into a small space, which means it's a little bit disorganized, but the staff know where everything is and are always happy to help. read more

They had everything I needed to clean the apartment we moved into and other home improvement essentials. The people who work here are super sweet, always asking if I need help finding anything, going out of their way to find it for me and offering free delivery. They do carry some items that many drugstores around NYC don't bother to stock, but "discount" seems to mean "what it would cost outside of NYC". Beware: the posted hours are essentially meaningless. If you're planning on going any time within 2 hours of closing, call ahead--they routinely close early... VERY early. Or better yet, just go to the one across town on the UWS. read more

A great store with competitive prices. Not a discount store but their prices tend to beat Duane Reade and the staff is very helpful.

My husband and I walk into this establishment around 10ish to purchase a few items. We walk into the first aisle to pick up one items and as we was heading for the second aisle I notice a Hispanic guy but just assumed he was shopping like we were. We went to the second aisle and I notice him again and realized that he was following my husband and I. So my husband and I walk to the front and ask the cashier and another male that was sweeping the floor (assumed he was the manager) if the guy was working here and they confirmed he was security. We felt very uncomfortable and discriminated against. We decided not purchase anything and just left the items that we pick up with the cashier and walk out. I will not suggest this place to anyone unless you want to be followed and racial profiled. We decided to go to CVS to purchase the same items for a much cheaper price.
