We stopped by on a trip as we were passing through and wanted to pick up some snacks. They did have quite a bit of produce, dairy, eggs, breads, cereal, meats, etc, but alas they didn't have the snacks we were looking for, namely chicharones which we eat like chips. I also noticed there weren't that much plants/vegetable seedling starts for sale compared to other GO's. Staff were mostly busy checking customers, but when I stopped a staff to ask for the chips section, he was friendly and pointed the way despite looking busy and on his way to getting something or taking care of some business. The store is on the small side and felt a bit cluttered even though it is organized. There's just not that much space and so some aisles looked kinda of random, with categories of items put together that don't go together that well, for example, having snacks in two different sections of the store. There was not much of a NOSH (natural organic stuff) aisle either, but for a smaller grocery store, it's not bad.

But this is the first Grocery Outlet to enter my area, so I have known of it since the early 2000s. I had just mentioned that this is one of smaller Groc Outs I have ever been in. And for some reason it is harder for me to find things here, or find the right aisles. I think it is because it looks like they expanded their space and took over the space next door. Right when I think I reached the end of the store, the liquor, chips and snacks curl around the corner, not visible from the other side of the store. I'm also not a fan of the parking lot here, just an older style of retail strip type of parking. Tighter and more chaotic when busy. And this location is definitely busy, the neighborhood just fits this grocery mode. Always a line at the registers and just hope they have enough registers open to move lines along. Usually they are pretty good. But the pricing here is still pretty darn good, given you know what you want. I pretty much know what Grocery Outlet is good for and also what to avoid, so I'm not too shocked at their quirkiness. It is actually the draw for me. Newark Groc Out is my alternative but more convenient location. I'll consistently go, but not my choice if I have time.

Small toys are $3 , make up pallets are $5-$7 . They have everything a discount store ( 99 cents store ) has but in better quality and materials. Therefore , they are $5 and up . It carries items different from the 99 cents store . It has better make up ( foundation, eye shadow , brow pencil, eye liner, brushes ) etc . The rechargeable battery is $10 and the phone cases are $7 for iPhone ) . Nice headphones are $8 each . There are T shirts with 60 % cotton and diff designs for $6 . I bought some cosmetics and two T shirts . The most amazing thing was that I could refund my items within 90 days with good condition recipe . In Daiso and 99 cents discount store , they're are no refunds . All sales are final . I like Five Below the refund policy . If I buy something for the school craft project... I can refund all the unused items . Way to go !

But you can walk a little to the parking lot near by . Most items are $2.25 but some can be $6 or more . Plus, I can find my things clearly with their transparent organizers. The kitchenware can be fragile. I accidentally broke several ceramic bowls or got them chipped over the years, yet it's cheap to replace them. The crew members are always doing merchandise and inventory around the store. They will help you when you ask them. As for payment, they don't accept AMEX and bills over $20. Overall, this store is very organized, clean, and easy to find certain items. It's the small parking lot that is limited in peak hours. However, you can park near Safeway and walk across there.

Best of all, it's walkable distance to the bakery, grocery store, restaurants, and other stores in the same plaza. Staffs are very well trained and the store is super clean and organized as always. Aisles are walkable and easy to navigate. What I really like is they have lots of products here/wide range of new and old selections. You'll find some good value for the prices and quality here. Good shopping atmosphere. All positive. I purchased some smaller loose items along with a new non-ticking wall clock. Everything is still looking good and useful inside. Daiso always have what I want and most of the time, I end up grabbing additional items that weren't on my shopping list. Yes, very tempting shopping specifically at this Union City location. Good experience. I just wish that prices would come back down like the old Daiso days when they first opened in the San Francisco Bay Area. Overall, great place to shop. It's more unique than other Daiso locations in the region. It's even better than ones in Las Vegas region. After that, drove to Hallmark front entrance as the back entrance of the store was closed. The Fremont Hub definitely has changed quite a bit since the last time that I had came. We go to the San Jose location every now and then, since our oldest son lives nearby. We go to Costly about once a month, since we don't need to buy in bulk that often. However, we do find their meat selection, produce and bakery to our liking. I like their Mini Apple Strudels and their Apple Danishes. Their cookies and pies are always good to take to a pot luck. We also find some good buys in their clothing section too. We also stock-up on paper products like toilet paper, kleenex and toilet paper as well. The parking lot is large and we always go early to avoid the crowds. This helps us locate a parking space fairly close to the front doors. The staff are helpful and friendly. Their hot dog and soda deal for $1.50 is always a hit. You always see customers enjoying them at the picnic tables inside.

Just park further away to find a spot. I N S I D E It's large but everything is definitely spaced out. They have a lot of the blind boxes near the front. Food is close to the cash register area. They do have a little area for claw machines. But service there is quite friendly. The selection of items feels like a lot but some times I feel like they're missing some items. Maybe I just haven't been to many Minisos in a while. I do also wish their items were better labelled with the prices. O V E R A L L If you're looking for cute items as well as blind boxes, they have quite a selection here. They also have an area for sales, you just have to go in the back.
