I was given a gift card to this place by a good friend. I had never heard of this store, but my…read morefriend knows me well because when I entered last week, I was so happy to see all the different items made by people all around the world. I was able to talk with the manager (or maybe owner) and she told me they work with 400 cooperatives in 59 countries across the world. The first time I went, I didn't buy anything because there were so many different things and I wanted more time to really look at everything. There were household goods, instruments, shoes, blankets, jewelry, art, and so much more. Prices range from low to high, but all are fairly priced to help promote economic development in the countries that send the goods. The second time I went, I took my husband with me. He settled on a Gourd Shaker made in Peru and I purchased earrings made in Kenya. While we were there, we saw a djembe that we will probably go back and get. I highly suggest you stop by. Lovelady Center, located not far from the store, helps women get back on their feet after going through tough times. They turn your donations into profit that helps them support their residents.
