I had deer in the head lights look the entire time I was in there. Selection: on a Tuesday selection on bin side was poor. Shelf side good 3/5. Value: depends on what you find or why you come. If its for entertainment 9 bucks is cheap entertainment. So 5/5 Thus a four star rating as that is what it averages into: 4 My experience: You walk in.... Large, open space. Very bargain basement-y feeling. Clearly divided into two sides: 1)shelf 2) Bins. The shelf looked like a randomly organized dollar store. It wasnt messy. Items were just randomly placed next to each other. This wasn't the exact order but similar and it gives you an idea of why I was instantly emulating the "holy xxxx what have I gotten myself into". Shelves were stocked like this: toy, next to brushes, next to an air fryer then next to socks. Then next to fake Stanley cups... and on.... And on. On the "shelf side you paid the sticker price (which was rumored to be at least 50% off of the original pricing) Then on the "other" side are bins. So. Many. Bins. Cue my "omg, what in the world is this place... why... or, more so...what are they digging for" face. Well, there are boxes. Lots and lots of boxes in the bins. And all the boxes are 9 buck. Now it hits me. This place is a LOT like "Lets Make A Deal". You are paying this business 9 dollars to treasure hunt one box. It could be a dud or it could be worth hundreds. You have no way of knowing what is inside. That part was fun. Then i see the people searching. Omg. They are wearing gloves (ooooh. They must be the seasoned veteran's of bin diving???). Then I think about it. Quickly decide: oh definitely if you EVER go to this place... bring gloves!!! cuz everything has been grabbed, shook and handled again and again and maybe even drooled on as people are really into the hunt here. I don't know. I really don't know what to think about this place. The lady who was cashing out goes. "You will be back! I started coming four years ago and Im back every week and I don't sell any of it. It clearly fulfilled a need for her and brought her a ton of happiness. I left happy for her but also kind of worried about her addiction to the place. Decided, that (bin diving) is not for me right now. I need to minimalize.... But if its for you... you do you! No judgement here. And who knows, maybe one day I will actually come back-- but with gloves. It seemed entertaining.

Really an awesome place, that helps to assist the less fortunate, in this area. The prices are…read morereasonable, especially for clothes and toys. The run occasional deals, where you call fill up a whole bag with clothes, for 5 dollars! The woman who runs the store is also very friendly. I try to donate here, other than other thrift stores, as it truly benefits the community.

They pay their utility bills, rent, and then give everything else away. They've helped out local families, and places like the Hartford Library. The store is a little cluttered and disorganized at times, but I don't mind. They are volunteers doing their best. :) If you'd like to donate you must come during business hours. This place is such a wonderful community business for Johnstown. I try to stop in regularly :)

And they have amazing prices compared to other thrift stores. I ended up purchasing 4 things - a dresser, two chairs, and a coat 'tree'. An employee walks with you, marks what you want to buy, then checks you out. They will then help you load big pieces. Shout out to Seth & Wayne for being an amazing help to us on a busy weekend.

Over the years I've gotten amazing items and very good prices. But lately, I don't know who's…read morepricing items, but their costs have gone WAY up ($100 for a small, used, unlit Christmas tree?) and many collectible items are as expensive or more expensive than they are on EBay. Identical items with sometimes have a $25 price difference (the Kincade villages, some china etc). I don't think it's worth going to that part of Morse road unless they fix the price problem.
