Let me start off by saying how dirty the area. That doesn't mean the parking lot has to be too. JUST SAYING. One of their employees (an older lady) was not so friendly. As she was scanning my things I was unsure of an item and asked her if she's ever tried it and she responded in a very not so friendly way. Sheesh. The times that I have been there... MESS. Always messy and long lines. That's all.

Floor is disgusting and products on the ground.

If I could give this place a -1 I most definitely would. I love Dollar Tree, it's here where you can find cool decorations and chotskies at great prices. I've been lucky enough to find things at these stores that are not at their competitor, 99cent Only and typically love shopping at these stores. However, every single time I have been to this location it is a disaster. Looks like a tornado hit it's isles and there isn't a soul to pick up the mess. I've even asked one of the managers what the deal was and she said "not enough hours". Yet, they have signs posted and have for some time regarding hiring of stockers and cashiers. Not sure what that's about. Heck I even referred someone to apply at this place and I guess they just don't want help bad enough to call them back. So someone else will be lucky enough to have their help, but that's besides the point. Dollar Tree District Manager or anyone who cares to listen with this store, while this store is in more of an industrial area and services nearly 75% Hispanics, this does not mean we don't want a store that is cared for. It's pretty sad when I go to another one of your stores a few miles away and it's a complete 180. Clean, polite people and cashiers actually at the registers. You can stand at the registers at this store and literally wait. Heck might as well walk right out if they don't care! Get employees that want to be there. People who need jobs and are eager to help this store and its community be uplifted. This is a VERY sad store. You've lost my business today. Enough excuses about why it's a mess, hire people and fix it! Not a lot to offer in the neighborhood, but what is there can at least be decent. (Oddly today was one of the cleanest conditions I've seen this store in) Very sad & disappointed. You have cleansers use them. You have help wanted signs, hire. I say all of this to not bash your store but to let you know your community and customers do not like this. Be proud of your job and make a difference!

I've worked retail for the past 10 years and just entering in the parking lot to this store was depressing. The parking lot is filthy. There is trash every where. As I walked to the entrance, there was a trash can that looked like it's been collecting trash for a year. Trash was all over the floor and it smelled like complete s***. I entered the store with Hope's but I was super saddened to find out that the interior was just as bad as the exterior. Every aisle was littered with product. The shelves were completely disorganized as if a tornado hit the store and nobody bothered to organize anything. A customer walked in without a mask and the woman who greeted this person didn't bother to tell them anything. I bought a roll of paper towels. Before that, I waited for five minutes till someone realized we wanted to check out. Stay away at all costs. Take a short drive and head to the 99 cents store on Whittier and Lorena. They have their ish together unlike this hellhole of a store.

    Huge pothole entering/exiting! Be careful.

This location is terrible. Dirty inside and out! The parking lot is disgusting, trash everywhere. Store definitely needs more staff to help keep everything organized.

Service is bad. Stockers are bad. My major problem is the stockers. I miss the 99 cent store.

While waiting for a restaurant to seat you, you can walk around in here and look around. There were several things that were pretty unique to me, and I found the shop very well-managed and clean. Even though it was a small store, there was still several workers present which was pretty interesting to me. But yeah, I think if someone wants to buy anything related to anime, have any unique chopsticks, Pokemon, pencils, Sanrio, Studio Ghibli, or some squishy toys, they will enjoy coming here. Prices pretty reasonable. You will be tempted to buy something for sure! Lots of very cute plushies also and I found it funny/cool they even sold backpacks for Labubus! - no bathrooms inside - lots of blind boxes - cute eye-catching displays at the windows

My son was looking at one of the dumpling squishy toys and flipped it over to see how much it was, when all of a sudden, the girl storms over and chastise him "don't try to open the item" and snatches that toy from him and went back to the counter to see if the item has been open. I was nearby and witnessed the whole thing and I asked my son what happened. He said I was just trying to find the price. I saw the girl trying to see if the box was open and of course it wasn't. This type of service is very off putting, hawking people and rudely accusing them of doing something they didn't. Needless to say, we left immediately and will never return.

HOW have I gone this long without reviewing Smarty's!?!?!…read more My daughter and I are Art's biggest fans. Every Thursday (which is when Art gets in his pallets of new inventory), she says to me "Happy Smarty's Day!" You just never know what you are going to find here. We have gotten the following items in the past year or two: a brand new Samsung dishwasher (a model that had only been on the market for five months, new in the box for over $700 off retail price!), a Ninja Creamy ice cream machine, Instant Pot lid that turns it into an air fryer, Dyson and Shark vacuum cleaners for hundreds off list price, deck boxes and hose reels for the backyard, a new microwave, an amazing array of plastic storage bins in all sizes for the garage/storage locker...and that's just off the top of my head! Going to Smarty's is our weekly treasure hunt. More than once, my daughter has bemoaned that she bought something elsewhere only to find it later at Smarty's for a fraction of the price. On the rare occasion that something we bought ended up damaged after we opened the box (which does happen from time to time, given the nature of the business of buying pallets of stuff from Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc.), Art has always made good and given us a full refund. I am almost loathe to tell people about this store because I want to keep these amazing, secret deals all to myself, but I also want Art to stay in business forever. Thanks, Art! We'll see you on Thursday! :)

This particular location in Downtown is a sneaky win! My own bias made me avoid this location thinking it would have hard parking & be a bit dingy but it's honestly SO clean and well organized here. Plus, tons of parking. The Downtown Grocery Outlet may be my new favorite location!
