I really love Dollar Tree, not to be mistaken with Dollar General. Everything in Dollar Tree is a dollar which is fantastico! And this is my favorite location with ample parking, items organized neatly in the store, helpful employees, etc. The only star off is the trash cans outside can get a little gross and full so they require a little more maintenance. I like going to this Dollar Tree for holiday decorations, party decorations, etc. My local visits have been getting Christmas decorations, gift bags, gift tags, etc. I also like getting party decorations like different color paper plates, silverware, cups, tablecloths etc. Happy shopping! read more

I'm giving this Dollar Tree three stars. It's a great resource for seasonal decorations. I mean, where else are you going to find styrofoam tombstones for $1?!? There are so many good buys here that I stop by at least once a month to pick up things like readers - yes, readers for $1!. And ziplock bags, balloon weights, silly string, striped fudge shortbread cookies - I think you know where I'm going with this. They have a random assortment of lots of stuff on the cheap. And I'd give it more stars if the store was cleaner, if I could find a basket with 4 functional wheels, if very young children didn't approach me in the parking lot to give them money to buy school uniforms, etc., etc. I really like this Dollar Tree for its good buys, but I'd LOVE it if the management would step up their game and clean it up. read more

This is easily one of the best Dollar Trees in the area. I stop in here regularly to get cheap flowers for my mom's grave, which is right around the corner (the grave is outside, so super-nice silk flowers would be a waste). They always seem to have the cutest accessories for sale and the last time I was here I got some St. Patrick's Day socks (on sale the first week of January) and a gaudy Shamrock thing to stick on my Irish mother's grave, which I'm sure she appreciated. The staff is always nice and I always find whatever I need. Big win! read more

Yessssss Yessssss and Yesssss!!!! I love Dollar Trees. I feel like I'm on a shopping spree when inside. I mean everything is really ONE DOLLAR; this is the way Dollar Stores are supposed to be. I mean if it says DOLLAR then things should be a DOLLAR; otherwise they should be named family dollarS or dollarS general, because you spend more than one dollar, but not here. I love these places because of the frugality of it all, but also because you can actually find name brand, quality products in here for a DOLLAR. No gimmicks, no false advertising... ONE DOLLAR gets what you need. My only complaint, but still a 5 star review, is that lines. You can bet your bottom dollar (no pun intended, but cute huh?) there will be a line when you walk in and when you walk out. It's just the nature of the beast. But I don't even really mind the line, well unless the manager is outside on a smoke break despite the long line, this happened to me at a DOLLAR TREE in Kenner; because it gives me opportunity to hairy-eyeball other dollar items that I may also want to purchase. This particular store has parking lot that is shared and always packed... so street parking is normally the method I choose. read more

Truly, the Dollar Tree can't be beat. This location has a nice clean, decent sized parking lot, most of the time you are greeted when you walk in, and the shelves! Fully stocked shelves! And usually, there is not a stack of inventory in the aisles to be put out! There are always seasonal decorations and helium balloons to buy. This is on the north side of where Canal Street dog legs at City Park Drive. Of course, there is construction going on at the moment, so I am not sure how that will pan out in the end, but I am sure it will be awesome! Cleaning supplies, canned fruits and vegetables, personal hygiene items galore. The cashiers can occasionally be surly, but who can't be when you've worked in customer service all the live long day?!?! I do like this location as it is neat, clean and well organized. This is an actual dollar store, not an imposter like those places on Broad where you walk in and discover the prices start at like $2.99. Everything here costs a dollar, so what's not to like? They have some decent stuff, too. I stocked up on toiletries and snack foods, and got some essentials for my new place. Found this little packet of curry sauce that turned out to be unexpectedly delicious. Their knock off fragances are kinda fun. I scored my mom a version of Poison by Dior that smells just like the original, to my nose anyway. I enjoy that it's located just across from the cemeteries. Makes for some great moody photography on the way back from shopping. read more

I'm not a huge fans of "dollar stores" as most of the products seems to be low quality. But then again, what do you expect for a dollar? However, there are a few items that make this store a worthwhile trip for me me on a once a month basis. I'm a huge fan of the liquid hand soaps and refills, as no one in the city ever has a better price; and this is probably the main reason I shop there. The cashier probably thinks I'm nuts when I walk up to the register with 10-15 bottles of hand soap. I know many of you are thinking 10-15 bottles of hand soap is a lot of soap for one month, but my wife and I are are almost self proclaimed germaphobes (LOL). This is also a great place to buy gift bags, as all sizes are just $1.00, whereas you'd pay 3-4 times this amount at a local drug store or card store. Other than that, this is just your typical run of the mill dollar store. It's always busy, especially on the weekends, so I recommend going early in the day. read more

Four stars as in 'I am a fan of a huge space filled with fun cheap stuff.' Not four stars as in 'You will find 4 star quality items here.' You will find ALL sorts of fun random things that may bring some joy into your life. I found some holiday decorations, a coloring book for the neighbors' kid, some wrapping paper with Cookie Monster at the beach, and a pair of reading glasses and they were all only One Dollar!! This Dollar Tree is great when you're looking for bag stuffers, party decorations and supplies, or candy to bring to the movie theater (because I love me some movie popcorn but $20 in concessions is redonkulous). There Halloween decorations were extensive this year, and I'm sure Christmas decor is being shelved as I type this. I have attempted to buy them out of glow stick paraphernalia of which they have an excessive amount of options. The other section I'm very fond of is their fancy plasticware (wine glasses, silver plates and what not) and school supplies. At check out, try and know how many of each thing you are purchasing, i.e. 18 packs of glow sticks to help speed up the process. I would definitely say, hit up Dollar Tree before heading to Party City for non-specific party decor. read more

They have a wide selection of school supplies and right around Oct/Nov they get a shipment of what I can only assume is workbook surplus. Several years in a row now I've scored workbooks that would have cost me $25 for $1. Can I get a huzzah?!? Homeschoolers? This is your place! Need modeling clay? They got it. Need magnets? got that too. Ping pong balls? you betcha. Markers? yep! Coloring books? That too. Classroom supplies? OMG yesssssssssssss. Are you an Ebayer? They got shipping supplies! On the party supply front.. Come here first!!!! More often than not I've fulfilled all but one or two of my party needs here rather than Party City (sadly Dollar Tree does not carry pinatas) They've even have a craft section! Why have I ever paid more than $1 for glue sticks?!?!?!?! Employees leave a lot to be desired, most are rather cold. Lines tend to be long especially around holidays. Dollar Tree can't be beat. I love this location on Canal because it's easy to get to and my tax dollars stay in Orleans Parish. They always have lots of name brand items. I regularly will stroll through and stock up on pantry and cleaning items. Also, I've found some great brands that I don't recognize, but when Googling, find out that they are popular in other parts of the country. I especially love going to binge shop on holiday decorations, of which they always have an impressive selection! Sometimes it's hard to get in and out of the parking lot, it's kind of small and the store draws a good crowd, understandably. It's also really hard to find a buggy that works. When you walk in, it's a graveyard of locked-wheel buggies because you can't take them out of the store. One last issue is the long lines...but that's a a staffing problem at Dollar Tree in general; they need to hire more employees and open more registers. read more

I came here for the purpose of buying a beanie, and did not find it here. Why don't they sell hats?! Other than that, seems like a cool cheap place to shop if I'm ever throwing a party, since there are a lot of decorations. Valentine's Day stuff was already being set up when I was there, and the New Year hadn't even started. I think the stock rotates here, so you're not going to find everything you need. If you want helium balloons, don't waste your time at this location. It's a bigger store than most, so it has a lot of good deals. The staff is rude, however, and understandably so, because it's always understaffed (only ever seen 1or 2 registers open) for how busy it remains. But there are always super long lines, sometimes so much that they incite mutiny - in December the lines stretched way back into the store and everyone was grumbling about the wait to check out. I love dollar tree stores, but this is by far the worst dollar tree I have ever been to. I'm shocked that it has such a high rating but I'm guessing people are rating the brand not this location. This store is always filthy, looks like a damn hurricane went through it. Everything is thrown about in such disarray it's unbearable to shop here and the carts are broken down beyond belief. There's always a line 10 deep bc they are so understaffed. I tried to go last night and there was no parking so I just kept on driving. Not worth the wait.
