I love this place. Inventory changes every day so it's always an adventure. I've gotten great deals on kitchen items and bought two Italian terracotta planters recently. Love to poke around, see what's new. You just never know what you will find.

Awesome place for fun vintage and antiques at all price levels. Chet was working there today and went above and beyond to help me find items for a a multi part project for my home. Kind of wanted to keep it a hidden secret. Morality got the best of me and had to leave a review. From glassware to furniture, kitsch, memorabilia & beyond, they have it all.

Eclectic, fun, surprising, affordable and vintage/antiques galore!! Had such an amazing day because of the friendly customer service from Wes, and the truly amazing artistic experience and inspiration found in this little, locally owned store. From quality Preowned collection wardrobe must-haves to the Thundercat's Snark that one lucky shopper found before she caught a cab to the airport, this store was delightful!! It was a cool place to visit. Cool hats, costumes, old fashioned gadgets & more. I Didn't see anything I was interested in but I now know where shop for "what nots" as my grandma would say about the items she stored in her China cabinet.

I really really enjoyed my happenstance visit to Bargain Center. My friend and I were just wandering the streets after an awesome brunch and we couldn't help but stop in and explore. I am a glutton for a good second hand shop and could easily have been lost for hours in this little treasure trove. Bargain Center is a magical maze of goodies and every surface and wall area is covered. Without a doubt there is something for EVERYONE and there were a lot of things for me lol. Tormented by the reality that my suitcase only had so much extra room in it for oddities, well-read paperbacks, and miniature paintings of Frida Kahlo, I had to go the less is more route. I went with the Frida Kahlo wall tile and it looks perfect, perched on my little shelf in my room. The staff woman was friendly and gently let us know that we couldn't bargain down our hand painted items, which we respected. I would love love love to go back for more. This time I'll come prepared with a little extra room in my luggage.

Oh for the love of everything that will overload your senses! I was in the area seeing the sights and making stops at will when we drove by this. I had to stop. Overflowing with costumes, clothing, varies from older Americana to Latin America, there is just so much to look at. I will be back for some of the home decorations. This is the perfect place for gifts for yourself and others that is just a tad on the quirky side. Friendly employees.

This is a fun little shop. The staff is really nice and it's on a nice little drag in the Bywater.

No matter what city you're in, you go into a Buffalo Exchange, and you feel like you've been in it before. This is because all of the locations are designed and laid out very much the same. Like all Buffalo Exchange locations, this shop offers the best of the best of vintage clothing, footwear, accessories, and jewelry. Everything they have for sale is chosen from all of the clothing and other items that sellers bring into the shop. From there, only the best of the best is purchased. Meaning, whatever it is that they offer to their customers has been well examined. The people that work in this shop, are all super nice. So, if you need any help, I'm sure that they are more than happy to give it to you. Located on Magazine Street, this business is super easy to find. In terms of parking, they have parking all over the place. You can find parking spots on Magazine Street, or the streets that surround the business. So, that should never be a problem. Overall, if you're looking for that truly unique piece of vintage clothing, this is a great place to find it.

My heart was broken when I found the most beautiful beaded, silk skirt that simply didn't fit. Humbling experience but that's the way it goes sometimes. I hope someone else can take advantage of the deal- very high quality piece. I did however find a couple of cute pieces that I'm excited to wear. So stay tuned for outfit pics.

How do I begin to sing praises in order to convey the fantasticness/fabulousness/ all the other…read moreRachel Zoe jargon conveying amazingness that is Swap? I will take a gander. Ultimately, Swap has singlehandedly eliminated my need to ever go to Lakeside Mall or Canal place, and has given me the wonderful ability of clicking delete when I get a sale notice from Banana or J. Crew because I know I can get the item at Swap in the same condition for less money. First, the owner, Michelle, is fabulous. It is like she has read every how to make your employees and people around you respect and love you book on the market. Or maybe it's innate for her. I don't know. Michelle is a genuinely kind person, who signs every single one of her business' emails with every single store associates name. In a world of faceless corporations, that means a considerable amount. Swap discounts items on a schedule. I know they do at 30 and 60 days, so you can take a gamble and watch an item if you are in love. Swap has only been open for a little over two years, and nearly half of my wardrobe went to be consigned there and the other half has been rejuvenated by it. My finds include Theory shirt dresses for 15 dollars, silk Club Monaco skirts for under 30, Coach wallets and wristlets, Tory Burch clutches for under 100, a Guess red peacoat that was Blair Waldorf worthy for under 70, banana republic silk tops, etc. How did this happen you say? Michelle opened her store in a section of town that has wealthier liberal arts schools literally 2,500 feet away (tulane and loyola) and is wedged in a wealthier part of new orleans. So, an influx of a revolving market with a disposable income. Brilliant! She works her butt off to get the word out about her store to New Orleans' ladies who lunch who then bring their garmets here. (Thankfully) There is no hipster ridiculous pretentiousness here (Im lookin' at you Buffalo Exchange) and they are always kind when you consign your items. I have never been treated anything but wonderfully by Michelle and her crew. If you are in the area, make a point to stop here. Honestly, I would work here for free if it were legal, but well, we both know there are labor laws. note: sign up for store emails because Swap loves coupons as much as you budget fashionistas do, and they also have an ebay edition of their store.
