The space however is a little crowded. But I get everything I can posible want for my little Latin heart who frequently misses its home food. They do stuck up on various Latin countries traditional foods. And their produce section might be small compared to large stores but the quality is as good or better than a wholes food or trader joe.

I appreciate the wine and delicacies (née cheese) section as well as the fridge section here to Mid-City. I much prefer the parking in Mid-City to Uptown and that's a big deal, as in, even if I'm in the area and need to stop at WF for produce, oat milk, wine and nostalgia, I'll more often than not talk myself out of it because I hate that parking garage that much. The last time I stopped in, I had taralli on the brain and knew that I wouldn't likely find that at most Rouses, no less the far more conveniently-located food co-op that's in my neighborhood. And of course I found a decent variety, as well as a bunch of other goodies my regular Mid-City location does not have. Back to the parking lot. It's bad enough, people. At the very least, bring your cart back inside so that the next person doesn't have to move it before parking, which blocks the entire area and annoys the other cars waiting to park. You know this happens. Don't be that person.

This Whole Foods has a very unique location and this reused space does give it some nice unique qualities. This location used to be far better than the Metairie location in many ways but it seems the location in Metairie has started to surpass this location in many ways. They still have a good mix of local, organic, and non-GMO produce. They also offer lots of high carb and high sugar baked goods that most "vegetarians" and "vegans" seem to thrive on. Sadly the formerly excellent selection of cookies no longer exists and they now pale in comparison to what they used to offer. I do look forward to one day meeting a "real" vegetarian or vegan that actually eats veggies instead of most of the ones I know who basically live off desserts and muffins :) Parking is usually a painful experience here and it is DEFINITELY better to go in off hours as people act crazy about parking here. After Katrina I lived next to the Whole Foods flagship location in Austin so this is certainly a much less dynamic store but it usually serves its purpose. Ever since Amazon took over Whole Foods it simply just isn't as good as it used to be in many ways but you are able to get more deals, discounts and coupons. This is still the most unique Whole Foods I've seen anywhere but I miss the vibe it had before Katrina and Amazon. One last review of ONE Star for all the LAZY people that leave their carts strewn all over the place in the parking lot! If your going to eat healthy maybe take a few extra seconds of exercise to put your cart back and OUT of my way you rude, pathetic excuses for civilized creatures. This particular store has an amazing "hot bar" as well as salads one can construct on their own. The hot bar has an extremely wide selection of choices, including chicken, fish, sausages, potatoes, soups and stews. They load the bar up early, and the location was across the street from where I was staying, so I headed over for some breakfast to take out (there are also some tables outdoors). I went back several times during my stay. This was my regular store when I lived down here, got totaled by Katrina (me too) and it took some years to come back. Now better and bigger than ever. I always stop on my way out of town, to stock up on my favorite local foods that I can't get in the snow belt. By the way, it's pronounced RO-berr (silent "t').

There were many gourmet products as well as typical, mainstream brands. Overall, we (this was a girls trip and we needed to stock our rental) were able to find what everyone needed. At the end of our trip the cashier was very friendly and sweet and we began the walk back to our rental with everything we needed to get our vacation started. I ordered from Jake's on UberEats and somehow ordered it twice. I called the store to see if there's a way they can cancel orders on their end. Of course not, so I was charged twice, but only received one of the orders. Which I believe is the Uber driver's fault. I ended up speaking to a guy I assume runs the store or maybe an owner and he offered me a refund on both orders, because he didn't want to lose me as a customer.

Decided to purchase fresh, unique cold cuts for husband's lunch. Opted for Rosemary Ham and Sweet Chili Turkey Breast. Sounds great, right? Not so much. Employee behind the counter was emptying one container of a liquid into another. She didn't see me. I walked away, came back and made a point to get her attention. I placed my order for 1/2 lb each and said I'd be back. I returned in about 5 min and the order was on the counter. I thanked her; no response. Made a sandwich for my husband the next day with the ham. Tasted it and was surprised by the underwhelming taste of rosemary. He remarked the same when I asked him that evening. The ham was fatty, and didn't have any visual evidence of being rosemary seasoned. I even tried a different piece with no luck. The sandwich the next day was with the turkey. It was so shredded I took a picture of it in the bag and out, because I couldn't believe someone expected me to make a sandwich out of it. If it had been my deli counter, I wouldn't have sold it. And since it was a bit dry (maybe it had been unwrapped for a while?), I added extra mayo. Husband commented that evening he didn't get Sweet Chili out of it and it was dry. Turkey was $15.99/lb and ham was $16.99/lb. Husband said next time just buy something in the commercial cold cuts section.
