I'm not one to use the self checkout because I have heard too many horror stories about people who "forget" an item under their cart and next thing they know they're charged with a crime. I say that to also say that they had adequate coverage on their registers, so self checkout was unnecessary.

To tell you about a recent experience, twas the night before Christmas, and I wanted a different Christmas Tree Skirt. I did find one at another retalier. But I paid $31 for it! Yeah, I was desperate. But something in my mind said keep checking around. The hour was getting late and dark was setting in. I tried one other store before coming into Big Lots. While that other store did not have anything to choose from, I stepped into Big Lots and about two minutes later, I found what I was looking for and it was a third of the cost of the one I found earlier. Big Lots has a lot of nice things from toys to everything home related. I even spotted some of my favorite jasmine rice at a good price. I will definitely be back soon. Other shops and eateries are located near this location and I love it. If you ever want to try new snacks, the selection is on point here. Now some things you can find elsewhere for a cheaper price, but I'm just telling you to check them out when time permits. Plenty of parking and check out is usually fast. There were a few empty spots with the clothes and shoes missing on this visit. But that was only with dressier shoes. They were several choices of slippers and clogs. I also noticed it was extra warm in there, so that cut down on how long I was willing to stay. It felt better outside almost. Smh. They need fans or something if the ac is choosing to not work on any given day!! They had some cute slide shoes and clogs. I love rhinestone and they had a few options, but if you have a foot larger than size 8, you may have a time finding shoes. They normally only send 1 set of shoes in the bigger sizes. The store has food products, body care, household items, pet supplies, and more. The lines are hit or miss though. Sometimes it's busy but others you're going to be waiting a while. I do wish the carts were more reliable. I fought to go left while my cart went right. We just couldn't come to an agreement, so I put it back!! Lol. All in all Roses is the budget friendly version of Ross or similar stores like that. The prices are reasonable and affordable. The parking lot is spacious, but can get a little packed at times. They have carts but they go fast, so you can purchase an IKEA bag or bring your own bag. I like the store because I already know what I'm going to pay. Some of the food items are expired, but still good, so pay attention to the dates. I brought a box of lays that expired but still tasted the same as the unexpired chips. A box of 30 for $3 was a good deal. If you have gloves, I'd recommend it because it's several hands picking over this stuff. I like these new bin stores and will definitely return!! First impression after parking was why the hell to they have so many dedicated spaces to drive up. No way they need that many. It was like 20 spaces. See attached pic. Prior to entering there was panhandling right outside their door which is disappointing. Return was speedy and customer service on point. Everything seemed neat in the return area. Mentioned the panhandling and rep said they would address. The walk through the main aisle was good with neat appearance. Grabbed some peanut butter from the food section. The area was well stocked and attractive. Checkout is where they shined. A clerk grabbed me to open for my one item and was a sweetheart. Walked out, no panhandler. Solid 4 star visit.

Sometimes dishonest people steal & take people's packages or goods.
