Today June 11, around 12:30pm, I was in the dollar tree with my elderly mom who has a heart condition. The lines were really long. only two lines where open at the time. We were on line one, that cashier closed and we were the last ones on that lane line. There was a man In front of us, by the time we got to the cashier, the man in front of us paid and left and then the cashier instead of taking us next he took a woman who was standing on the side, the woman claimed she is a co-worker and she needed to pay for her items. When we questioned it and my mom asked what this is, I have been standing so long on a long line , what is this preference. The lady who was paying stated loudly "I work here" So, my mom stated to the cashier that "it isn't fair no matter a worker or not, it isn't right I had to stand all that time and not to be next to pay for my items" I even stated that it " this isn't right for the elderly and senior citizens to wait on a long line to pay just to get to the cashier and make that person wait so they can check out a co worker who just walked up to counter." The cashier pretended not to hear us, he ignored my mom when she was questioning his actions to why he didn't take us next and took his co worker who just walked up on the side with her items instead. All he kept stating was " $21 ma'am" he did not answer to the question she asked. He just ignore what she was saying. Very Very rude. We left everything we were buying behind due to the rudeness and obnoxiousness. Just very upset due to how things went I was always a good and loyal customer. I will not be going to Dollar Tree anymore. The Dollar Tree used to be an A+++++++++ store, but it seems very sloppy now and never seems to be stocked with items that are needed. i love absolutely every dollar tree. However i do not like when they get deliveries and sometimes leave some of my favorite aisles blocked out and unable to browse to see what is in certain areas of the store. read more

Slim selection of what I needed (containers) but very neat and organized. Great for picking up little itens you may need but not for "bulk" shopping for crafters or organizers. Perhaps its because of the summer season. read more

I was one of the biggest pains in the butt as a customer! Last week I purchased $30 worth of stuff for the Easter bonnet parade in NYC. It was canceled due to covid restrictions. I had two big bags of stuff I couldn't use. I kept my receipt. Because of their "no refund" policy that's labeled at the bottom of the receipt, I couldn't get my money back. I could, instead, do an even exchange. So I went shopping for 30 new items to exchange. Cindy was my cashier and she was very calm, poised and patient. She scanned every new item, then scanned every return item which showed a negative amount each time. It seemed like an easy system. Then she pushed a button on the register. Something was wrong. She pushed it again. Something was still wrong. Cindy called for the manager Beatrix. A small line was forming behind me. Beatrix looked over the charge and explained something to Cindy. They had to push F2 or something in their system. But, again, something was wrong. They deleted the whole transaction and started again, needing to re-ring every item I wanted to purchase and then every item I wanted to return. Beatrix explained to Cindy what to do and she patiently rang me up again. The line behind me was getting longer and I was feeling bad for taking up so much extra time. But! The computer malfunctioned again. I'm not familiar with their system so I don't know exactly what the problem was. But it happened yet again! Beatrix came over and deleted the transaction for a second time. Cindy started over. She had to ring up all 30 items again and then ring up all 30 returned items again. It finally worked! The whole process took over 10 minutes. Beatrix directed people waiting to go to another line. Cindy saw it through and eventually was able to do an even exchange for me. I know I was a disaster customer, but I tried to be patient and polite. Cindy was so nice and calm and didn't judge me. She took care of business, asked for help when she needed it, and treated me with decency. She is a great employee and someone I would want to hire. I was mortified that my transaction was such a pain for so many people! I was impressed with the way Cindy continued to do her job pleasantly. Thank you! And I'm so sorry! read more

Never have a bad experience here. Go early for shorter lines. I find customer service can make or break your experience and one customer service rep is always so friendly and pleasant that I leave the store in a better mood than I came in with. I wish I knew her name but the other employees could learn a thing or two. She is usually at the first register near the doors, next time I'll be sure to get her name and post it here! read more

OMG where do I begin?!?! How about with one word.. DISGUSTING!!! I went in to see if they had anything I needed but instead of looking around I was side tracked by the huge mess on the floors in almost every isle even broken glass!! I took out my phone & started snapping away. When I was done and I had to reach for my hand sanitizer. The place was not only messy it was dirty. Sitting in my car & going through the pictures I just took I couldn't believe how many I took. That's how messy it was!! Ok so I wait a week (not planned) and return hoping that the prior week was just a bad day for this Dollar Tree store but NOPE it was worse which I didn't think it was possible!! I can't believe a store is allowed to operate in this poor condition! The Manager should be FIRED!!! There is NO excuse EVER to have a store opened to the public like this unless of course there was an EARTHQUAKE!!! Shame on you to Upper Management for not overseeing this store or simply ignoring it. It would be more costly to have lawsuits from people getting hurt by tripping & falling over all these items in the aisle than it would be to train &/or retrain your workers to actually DO THEIR JOBS!! Unfortunately, a huge mess. Things were thrown everywhere, nothing was organized. It looked like the place has not been picked up in weeks because there is no way that a store can get that bad over night. Plus, this place was super packed on a Sunday afternoon. This store's mess is beyond intolerable... The store was so packed with them restocking, literally, there was NO room to walk down several aisles. Boxes were packed up and down the aisles as far as your eyes could see. How can you possibly sell goods if no one can access them? That was a turn off! So I left empty-handed. read more

Go Early for a Better Shopping Experience First and foremost-People make the store meaning people need to take pride in their communities and not trash the stores in their neighborhoods/ areas so that we can all have a pleasant shopping experience- that being said, I went early (8:30am) and the store was neat and the experience was really nice. The manager (who was training a new cashier) was super helpful and friendly and I saw stock boys stocking shelves. They have some awesome stuff and the location is truly huge! I've read some of the other reviews, I am sure that later during the day or on the weekend, this store might get chaotic considering its size and the small staff I saw working today's shift... However, I love DT and have been to many of the stores in the area (I have an addiction and proud of it!!! ) and this ranks in my top 5 for size and goods/ selection available. read more

If I could give one star I would, but unfortunately Yelp won't let me. Had the worst experience I've ever had with placing an online order. Received an email that my order was in the store and ready for pick up - when I went in to the store I was told it wasn't there (understandably delayed because of the weather) but the employee also told me that the email I received "didn't mean anything... doesn't mean the items you ordered are actually in the store - it's an automated email" okayyy. So I was asked to come back in 2 business days. Due to work, I returned a week later.... The same employee was only able to find 2 of the 3 boxes I ordered, and offered no solution to the problem. I suggested that we try to track the other box, he said he had no way to know where it was or when it would arrive. He only suggested that I come back "tomorrow" -- (why would I do that when they don't know where the box is?) or call and speak with the store manager. He never apologized for the problem or the fact that the box had been lost. I tried multiple times to call the store and speak with the manager, and was never able to get through. I refused to return to the store unless they could guarantee that my order had arrived, and called the main Dollar Tree customer service line instead. Customer service was equally as unhelpful as the store service (believe it or not) and insisted that the box had arrived in the store. I assured them that the store was unable to locate the box and suggested that they offer me an alternative. They offered to reship to the same store - obviously this is not a good idea given my experience - so I requested that it be shipped to my home instead. They refused to do so saying that it wasn't policy. I asked if they would be able to cancel the order and reship without the shipping fees, given my horrible experience when I ordered these items for my wedding (now rapidly approaching). Again, I was told no there's nothing else they can do. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS HERE AGAIN!!! It's not that hard to be polite and apologetic for your mistakes, or offer your customers some support due to said mistakes. read more

When this place initially opened. It was great. Always stocked & friendly staff. As of lately the store is constantly in disarray. Nothing is ever in stock and the store looks a mess. The staff is extremely rude. I would drive to this location and by pass closer ones but not anymore. read more

I have no idea what the two " Lauras" are talking about. This is New York and you learn fast that in dollar stores people tend to be much more messier than in regular stores because in order to provide the discounts they can afford fewer staff...I have been a CONFIRMED shopper at the Bartow DT for YEARS. When I discovered this one I was hooked! It has so much more product ! It is amazing. I try to do most of my frozen food shopping here, the variety truly almost leaves you wanting for nothing and able to feed your family in this economy. I no longer live close to this DT but make the trip every month or as often as I can because it truly is my favorite DT. Could it be cleaner and have more staff at times? The store looks like no one owns it, I felt like I was in a really really run down place in the south Bronx . The one my job on third is maybe a tab better . The manager is present but has not idea that on a holiday weekend you need more then one cashier open . There was a line to the back of the store and she was blowing balloons ? I'm just confused !!!!! But I think it's just the mentality of those who operate this store ! You really have no value for your customers, and have no respect for your staff to run a store like this ! It's better off being shut down ! come on folks relax with the bad reviews its dollar tree so if the aisles are not messy or if stuff aint all over the floor then whats the point of visit. i like dollar tree its my guilty pleasure for spending 20 bucks and getting 20 items . i usually get hand soap, dish soap, vo5 body wash, lightbulbs, ajax, baking soda, cleaning supplies for kitchen and bathroom along with some other stuff i may or not need. i dont bother with any food items but that just me and i dont judge. this dollar tree in pelham manor is spacious inside and the outdoor parking is large. the lines are long cause it seems that every dollar tree thinks it a good rule to have only one cashier working while folks get pissed while waiting. its dollar tree folks , it is what it is so dont bitch and moan just think of it as an adventure and save a little money. read more

The store manager is rude to customers and staff. The manager was literally yelling at a worker for using the bathroom too long and she stated she had a female emergency and he said he didn't care. Staff is often on their phones and won't help when you need to find something. I ordered a few things online and they could not find my order even though it said it was delivered to the store. they told me to come back in a few days. i came back and my order was still missing. the assistant manager looked up my paperwork and she said its there received in the store but no one knows where it is. then they said my items were put on the floor and sold. because of this i was not able to compete an engagement party arrangement. i will not be coming back to buy stuff from here or order online again. oh by the way your staff is stealing from you by eating the food and placing it behind books in the toy area i overheard them saying cameras are not in that area and they know which ones are fake. read more

Yes I know this is a dollar store and everything is a dollar and that's good but there's a lot to talk about this store. This store is always messy. Boxes on the floor, a juice spill in one of the isles, and all of the shelves are mixed up with different things that make it very confusing. Buyers beware- some of the products are really bad and some don't work at all. Yes once again this is a dollar store and its mostly non branded but rather go to Walmart to shop than here to be very honest. The electronics stuff don't work or poorly work. The micro USB cable worked for a day and it stopped working and had a little wear and tear in the cable which I was very disappointed. Mini speakers sounded absolutely horrible and had a lot of noise to it. Food and drink in this store is another story. They have non branded coke and a fake Sprite. I tried them because I was like hey why not it looks the same and it's only a dollar, why not. The worst $1 spent or should I say $2 because I brought one cola and one the fake Sprite. It was nasty!! Worst $2 spent. The fake fruit loops weren't the best, and the non branded "Lays" chips were average but were very salty. As for the checkout lines, there are 5 checkout registers and there is only one open on a busy Saturday and waited over 20 minutes to checkout and leave.
