Everything is clean, relatively organized, and stocked well - a contrast to other long term opened HomeGoods locations. I've never been the biggest fan of TJX Companies' offerings (TJ Maxx, Home Sense, Marshalls, Sierra, HomeGoods), but some of the newer locations have been growing on me. Perhaps it's the newness or maybe they're getting less gaudy/lame junk and more decent offerings. There were more than one item I would've considered purchasing, but I needed to behave since the holidays are approaching and I'm on a budget. I didn't have any interactions with employees - as I usually don't at these stores as rarely anyone will ask if I need any help (not that I mind because I prefer it the other way around) and will go out of their way to evade the customers, so I can't comment that aspect. The cuing area is decent and I saw no lines and more than one cashier. As mentioned, it's in the spot that Staples used to be in - so those who know the area will know where I'm talking about. This new location shares the same space with some businesses, most notably a Pizza & Brew and TJI Fridays. Parking lot can be busy at times, but I've never had an issue finding a spot. There's decent parking on the side of HomeGoods as well. Overall a good entry in an area of good shopping choices and one more store to add to Central Park Avenue's large overall shopping options.

JOHN A SAVED THE DAY!…read more Needed a light fixture for my bathroom. Stopped by to check out their selection. Upon entering the store I was greeted with a not so welcoming hello. The staff was not very friendly and made it seem as I was bothering them with my questions. I saw a fixture that I liked but wanted my hubby to see it before purchasing it. When the staff realized I wasn't going to buy immediately, their actions pretty much showed me the door. I took the hint and left. I made up my mind I was going to purchase the fixture elsewhere but went back to show it to my husband. I was immediately greeted by John A who made me feel welcome. He was personable, helpful and asked all the right questions. His guidance made me realize my choice wasn't a good one and he helped me find a light that was just right. My decision to purchase the light elsewhere was reversed because of my experience with John A. Nice job John A, your colleagues should take a page out of your book!

Millennials and Gen-Z, avoid this place at all costs…read more I waited until the last minute (electrician is coming tomorrow) to order a flush mount light for our new walk-in closet, so decided to find a brick and mortar store to select one in person, so I'd have it ready for him and be able to wrap up this project ASAP. There aren't many lighting stores left in Westchester, and Hi-Light had a few decent reviews, so I popped in quickly before the appointment with our electrician. After finding a few crystal flushount options at Hi-Light on Central Ave, I took a couple photos to send to my husband (who is also part of the buying process), and was immediately accosted by a salesperson who said I wasn't allowed to take photos of the products I was interested in buying, and asked me to stop. WTF? This is 2023. A great customer experience is your competitive advantage, and yet, the first thing a customer service person said to me was to stop taking photos of the items I was considering buying. Okaaaaaaaay. If you want to sell your products to people who use technology as part of the buying process, you need to make that easy AND pleasant for them to buy, and not harass them for promoting your products to their spouses (or interior designers etc.). I've been working on the renovation of our house for a year, and never once has a salesperson asked me to stop taking photos. In fact, they encourage it! This is why millennials do not want to come into stores now. Who has time for this B.S.? Never again. I'm ordering a flush mount online and will have my electrician come a second time to install a closet flush mount.

Something funky for your living room? Totally. But if you do eye something, get it quick, otherwise, it'll be gone. Such is the case with an unusual desktop, sterling silver card holder that I wanted to purchase for Mr. Man, but I bypassed it and when I went back, it was gone. Service is nice and Sharon will gladly assist in almost anything that might interest you that day. Prices are clearly, comparable to its own Scarsdale location---lavish. No problem....every so often, The Dark Horse runs a store-wide sale and will not feel that huge dent in your wallet. Though I don't shop here on a regular, items, truly are rare, one-of-a kind. I pick a few funky and worldly, accent pieces to elevate my living room a bit and redecorate my college-age daughter's room, with items that I will not find anywhere else.

My wife and I have often shopped there when we are looking for something that you really couldn't find anywhere else. This is not a store for people looking for a bargain or something you might find at a tag sale, however, the gifts that you might purchase will be truly valued and appreciated by the lucky recipients.

I still do not have my chair back. I bought the fabric and they said they were picking my chair in 2 weeks. They took 6 weeks and I had to call and call and call again They told me they were taking 2 weeks to re cover my chair.... they still have my chair. I spoke with Carolyn yesterday afternoon who reassured me they were delivering my chair this afternoon between 5 to 6pm. As you can imagine is 6:40pm and I'm still waiting. At this point I don't know if I am going to see my chair again!

But after 2 Westchester Sears location closings, we've now turned a new leaf and depend on Fortunoff on Central Ave in Yonkers for some of their outdoor selections. While Fortunoff isn't a BBQ grill destination, they almost have all your backyard needs. We haven't felt the need to replace any of our bigger outdoor pieces- because again, they're fine. But once they go out of their misery, I might consider this place for their outdoor variety. I mean...if you're going for that gawdy look, they gotchu covered- but if you want more of a clean-edge/'minimalist' feel, Fortunoff added that too. Service from the young gals is choppy, patchy and weak on dialogue- then again, I'm not going out with them for cocktails- but I do crack a smile to ease the blow during my transactions.

The furniture quality is excellent & price was fair. Delivery was confirmed the evening prior & 30 minutes out.. The 2 delivery guys were amazing! Very professional, efficient in assembly,/placement & packaging was taken away. My only regret is that prior to going to Bob's, I wasted time online Amazon shop, read tons of reviews & stressed about the rigors of assembly. Save your valuable time, go to Bob,s. I didn't realize it was a service where you have to file a claim within a certain time frame. My reclining button stopped working, but because I didn't file a claim right away, they denied it. I paid for peace of mind and got excuses instead. I won't be buying another protection plan--or anything else--from Bob's Discount Furniture.
