Recently I was at the Dollar Tree at 100 Granite St. Quincy.My wife who recently had surgery is unstable on her feet I pulled up just outside the door to pick her up and an employee named Dan (on his badge )came right over and helped her into our car. I called and i spoke with one of the managers there to let them know what a great employee they have. In this day and age it was really "old school " how he helped my wife. This is a good place to shop if you're looking to buy items for around the house on the cheap. It is conveniently located in a strip mall with plenty of parking in the huge parking lot just outside the stores. So parking is never an issue. You can find anything here from hair and beauty supplies to over the counter medications to candles and household items. I came in here to pick up some cleaning supplies and I had no trouble finding any of the items that I needed. The service here is excellent. It is a busy location and the lines do get long sometimes but they move along very quickly so I never find myself waiting for very long to have my items rung up. Last Week Tonight did a brilliant exposé on dollar stores, Dollar Tree among them. They are 100% no immune from criticism, and my perspective is that the humble dollar store 100% has a place. Yes, on a unit-price basis, Dollar Tree isn't always cheaper, and the quality of items may be less. Body wash, for example: you need more of it compared to Axe or Old Spice. However, you don't need 4-5 times more (which is what your supermarket body washes cost). With some things, that's just it. It may not create suds at the same rate, but the economics work out. Then there are greeting cards, which are criminally overpriced at Target for something that will be looked at, given a smile, and thrown in the bin. Here, mostly 50¢! Write a sentiment from the heart within, and it'll be better than a $6 card from the red circle. What's important is to have an understanding of what this location offers, and how this fits into your routine and needs. Maybe even though the soap is cheaper, you prefer something higher end. Maybe even though the ketchup cost more per-ounce, you need it so rarely that a smaller bottle is a better idea. Okay, great, but this applies to virtually any dollar store. Why did I award 5 stars? Well, so many such stores I've been to have been utterly chaotic! They look like a tornado and/or earthquake went through! This one has a little of that, but is among the best compared to peers. Better even than the Bullseye section at Target! Finally, the staff have been friendly, and the location has been reasonably clean. Dollar Tree also sells snacks, which I am not picky about. If you are looking for the best Dollar Store it is the one in Abington. That store is so clean, the people working there are the best. You never see the aisles with boxes of merchandise waiting to be it away. Worth the ride, also they are always well stocked! read more

Call me Cheap... but I love a place a where everything is a $1! No, this isn't like Family Dollar where items can be $1- $10.. EVERYTHING is only a dollar. You may think.. $1!?! It must be all crap.. well, it's crap that I like to buy for a low price. This is the location I go to the most, but I've been to many and they all basically sell the same exact things. I come here when I'm having a party/picnic/outdoor event and I need paper products, plastic table clothes, and other party related stuff. Not sure how my review got "Filtered" but here it is again. Let's just say, Stay away if you're Asian!! I was in line holding my son, overheard cashier PAULA said to an Asian woman in front of me,"swipe my ASS do it again"!!!?? The poor lady kept quiet and proceed to swipe her card again. Then it's my turn, she totally ignored me and start to check out the person in back of me (full cart). She fcking dare! Paula then called the manager over and said I was screaming and yelling for no reason. Note: I didn't yell, I told her I was next. She then replied I didn't see u and continue scanning. I have 1 balloon in my son's hand I need to pay for, that's it! Paula ignored me. By this point I was very offended how I was treated!! Paula and manager never said sorry.. I'm a dollar tree addict! I'm not ashamed to say. I love cruising up and down the aisles. You can get some brand name items there. This location is always busy especially during holidays. read more

I think of all the other Dollar Tree stores in the area, this one is the nicest. The demeanor and dispositions of the employees is always good. They accept SNAP/EBT, and credit cards. They have a frozen food section if you want frozen foods. this location is also very large and is often well stocked with items. We often purchase items like plastic baggies for food storage, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, cooking utensils, and sometimes jars of pickles. Cheap party supplies, school supplies, and the makeup items tend to be rather decent. I've never had bad service here either. read more

Got to love this place. Everything for $1! Oh yes, EVERYTHING!! Actually items on sale e.g. past holiday items are 2 for $1!!!! At first i actually get mad going in here because it reminds me of all the ridiculous prices i paid for some items that you can get a pack of 2 or more here, all for 1 buck! Even walmart cant touch this. So now its my routine to check this store first for items i need before i go to other stores. Of course you got to be wise about the quality of things and know what you can save on and what you have to spend more money on. read more

Came in here to find one item that somebody told me they got at The Dollar Tree - and ended up getting all kinds of good stuff. The food aisle was what really grabbed me. They had these coffee syrups like the kind they use at Starbucks. And a giant bag of marshmallows for S'mores for only a buck. And there was good quality coffee, instant espresso packets, spices, and an awesome selection of movie candy - all for a dollar. Then, I made my way to the wrapping paper aisle and got some really nice and colorful gift bags with sparkles and ribbon - as nice as what you'd find at Hallmark but for about one fifth of the price! There are cleaning products and stuffed animals, coloring books and toys, household items and cosmetics - all for a dollar. I thought this was going to be like that junky Family Dollar store in Quincy Center that looks dirty and sells a lot of junk for much more than a hard earned and so-called "family dollar". So as I checked out, I asked her how much this, that, and the other thing was because there were no listed prices. She said that everything in Dollar Tree is truly, just a dollar. I will definitely be back here again. I had not been in a long time and I had forgotten how good it was - with really decent stuff for unbeatable prices. I would go out of my way to come back for food, sundries, gift bags, paper products for parties, school supplies, beauty products and gifts for kids in the future. read more

Srsly don't go here. It's dirty and the lines are long, and I wouldn't mind, if at least I could get what I came for. But, tonight the cashier put all my things in one bag, and I trusted that the cashier would pack them properly. So I leave and walk ten feet and the whole bag breaks. My stuff is all over the parking lot, and all my ceramic pots are chipped. I hardly mange to get all 17 items to my car, bc I'm still literally outside the store. One of the pots fully broken, so I go back with the bag and the one pot and ask if I can exchange it or have the dollar back, the manager I'm guessing, is so rude and like no, and then she literally asks the cashier if she put to much stuff in the bag, and the cashier is YES like probably, but the manager is like well that's to bad that you left the store bc now the responsibility for the pot is on you. So, I wasted an hour of my life to buy a bunch of cheap China crap, that broke in the parking lot, bc the cashier put to much in the bag, and dealt with a rude manager who couldn't even exchange the item, never mind give them dollar back, or even really apologize, that bc of them I had to go trough all this xtra waste of time. Literally, an hour and money wasted, buying garbage and dealing with rude people. I'll absolutely never go back. read more

As a teacher Dollar tree is one of the best places for shopping. However, the employee at this location are very rude with customers. I never saw an employee yielding at a customer and when you call the manger she acts the same way. This is one of my favorite stores and I don't know who to contact to complain. I'm really mad and want to take an action. These people need to know how to deal with customers. If they own this place they will know how to care about their customers. read more
