Apparently the who's who of this tiny but snobby town shops here religiously. Every high heel is $39.99. GO TO ROSS, THEY GET THE SAME SHOES, and you won't pay over $30. I promise. Trust me on this, if not anything else. I have a shoe problem, so I figured out the less I can pay for shoes, the more of them I can have- even on my limited, college student budget. The prices are not a deal and their clearance stickers are usually not more than $5 off of the original price. They buy their clothes in lots by the pound, so the prices on the clothes depend what was in that shipment and how much they paid per pound, which explains why the exact same Diesel jeans sometimes have a $20 price difference. (because one came in week 1 and the other midway through the week-- different shipments.) They do do a good job of putting women's panties on clearance, though and a lot of times you can get them for a $1 a pair. Who doesn't like new panties?? They really get a good variety of name brand things, like Valentino ties for me, Guess, Diesel, Free People, BCBG sweatsuits, Michael Kors shoes...but it's really not the best place to shop because if you are a good sale shopper, you will make out much better somewhere else.

I went to get a bike since I'm a new graduate student here and need a way to get to campus. First…read moreof all, LS has been closed since March because of COVID-19. They have new limited hours 10-2 Tuesday-Thursday, which is all fine and dandy until you show up at 10am that first Wednesday and the place is so crowded it's almost hard to look at the bikes. I was pretty upset that they could not operate at normal hours so crowds would be more dispersed, or that they had better crowd management and social distancing implemented. For being part of the university, I was extremely disappointed and frustrated just by their handling of COVID that day. I hope it isn't that bad now that all freaks have gone in for the stuff they couldn't get for 6 months. (Keep in mind they do only allow 10 people in the actual building at once, so these 30+ people were outside, way too close to each other and blocking major paths for other shoppers. I only looked at the bikes, of which they had a lot, because they were outside and that's what I needed. ALL of the female adult city bikes were in bad shape. Rusted chains and gears, brakes either way too loose or not connected right, need it replacement tubes and/or tires, and i thought the prices they were asking for them were ambitiously high for needing so many repairs. Some were good quality and appropriately priced but as those things work, none of them were my size or style so I walked away without a bike. Overall a very bad experience for my first time at LS. I expect to go back maybe when they expand their hours and the virus isn't as prevalent, but for now I'm even more upset with the university than before. Oh well.

Great place for hard-to-find furniture and other office items…read more Avoid this place like the plague if you're shopping for older computers and computer accessories, as they have no clue what that junk is worth. However, if you're up for a DIY project and need some sturdy furniture and random items in which to start, you can't beat this place in town. Great location to get old chairs, tables, desks, file cabinets, and other random goodies. If you don't mind a little work on your part, you can restore some of these classics to good, working condition. In the Spring of 2014 I picked up two vintage, black office chairs with wheels. Solid steel frames with steel casters. The underside was dry-rotted away, but the fabric and spring webbing was still in good condition. Probably dates from early 70s or late 60s, I gave those chairs a deep steam cleaning, removed the underside, and polished the chromed steel to a shine. I also picked up a square table with a nice poly-sealed wooden top and a thick, sturdy steel leg in the middle, that branched out to steel cross-legs at the bottom. It looked custom built, not something you'd find from a wholesaler. I bet Penn State's OPP built them, and when they build stuff, it lasts for decades. Wonderfully overbuilt. A deep scrubbing and some polishing was all that was needed for the table.

Being able to pick up my (large) bakery order and not leaving someone disappointed at home makes me happy. Had my list of must haves. I meandered through all the departments. Wasn't on a time schedule. I spent 2 hours in the store. Found beautiful baby lamb chops. Filets were $6/lb cheaper than my grocery store. Bought beautiful endive. Had to bring home the red wine peppered salami. Coming home, opening the cooler, and handing out foodie presents is like Christmas morning. The oohs and aahs were heard at multiple houses. The staff were very helpful finding my treasures. Wegmans trips make traveling for business worth it.

How this Wegmans location has sunken…read more.. Back before they dedicated a significant chunk of store to alcohol, they had a pretty nice tea nook and natural section. It used to be somewhat "fun" to shop here, and the international corner had more variety. Parts of the latter have been gutted and somethings dispersed back into the regular aisles. Everytime you walk by the alcohol section, whatever dutiful lady theu have standing guard of the section, has to eyeball me like surely that's surely where I must be heading. Should not feel the need to mention, but I could not care less about drinking, and even if I did, I wouldn't come here for that. When I was younger and working grocery for peanuts at a mediocre grocery chain that wasn't known for such above average employee benefits and environments than precious Wegmans, our crews had good attitudes while still being human. Somehow, the employees at Wegmans have a general blend of apathy, misery, and barely tolerance. I remember one instance I had to go in there soon after a family tragedy, two days without sleep, stress, through the roof and a chronic medical condition dragging me down worse than usual, and I still did my best to be pleasant and polite to a cashier who was literally talking to me like she hated my guts, like I had just wronged her entire family for years, while moving my items like it took every fiber of her being to not slam each one down in the bag. No idea what that was about, as the people in front of me got no such treatment. It's not as if i was wearing my own feelings in my sleeve. I would've been let go on the spot for displaying a fraction of the attitude while I was making a fraction of their wage, this young woman was flat out being abusive. I've never even seen a teenager act out in such a way to a complete stranger. It was so bizarre. We used to have such pleasant interactions with the employees here, and we'd even sometimes plan our hour away trips to thr area around coming to this store. Now it's tacked when it's absolutely neccesary, and we see it as a chore to even run in for a couple things, a mild dread usually reserved for Walmart. The level of the self importance vibe of the people who still shop here who act like they're in some high end metropolis in a hurry and everyone else is just cattle in their way is so thick. The thing is, it doesn't even make sense. Wegmans (at least this location) has very few things that make it exclusive anymore. It is reduced to a status symbol store in so many ways, without the goods and services to back it up. Because they still have people playing chef for Safeway deli / mall caliber food? Get me out of here.
