While waiting for my recent flight at JFK I saw they have a Jacob's Pickles here. It's in JetBlue…read moreTerminal 5 at JFK. Good spot to have a tasty breakfast biscuit sandwich, fried chicken and biscuits, or a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. Full bar to sit at and have a beer or cocktail, some counter seating along the open window area, and tables on the outside to eat and people watch while waiting for your flight. There are also a few order and pay kiosks by the entrance. It's quality eating and a nice step up from the normal airport food offerings, but also expect to pay airport prices.

Went here for breakfast before a flight and had one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had…read more When we were seated, we requested a high chair and waited over 10 minutes for one to be brought to our table. The high chair we received had a broken safety buckle. When we asked if another high chair was available, we were told they were all like that, which was very concerning. After being seated, it took more than 15 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our table. Once we finally ordered, we waited approximately 45 minutes for our food, and only two of the three meals arrived. To make matters worse, we were told there was no clean silverware available and that we would have to wait for utensils. By the time my meal arrived, the other two people in my party had already finished eating. I ordered a veggie omelette, but when it was served, it contained no vegetables at all--just egg and cheese. Between the broken high chair, long waits, lack of clean utensils, incomplete orders, and incorrect food, this was an extremely disappointing experience, especially when trying to grab breakfast before catching a flight.

The hostess greeted me warmly and allowed me to browse the menu at my leisure without feeling rushed. The seating was spacious, and the self-serve bar area offered plenty of room. The decor and vibe evoked an early 60s charm, though the playlist featuring early 2000s hits was a quirky mismatch, yet, honestly, it grew on me and seemed to add a lively edge to the meal. The menu was straightforward, offering a tempting selection of chicken sandwiches and biscuit dishes. After some thought, I settled on the chicken ranch, it was ready in less than five minutes! The "Porch Sipper" drink was delightful; I ended up ordering a second, as its flavors transported me to open Kentucky fields, sitting on a wraparound porch on a warm summer day, savoring the music and gazing at the blue summer sky. The experience was truly immersive. And I must say, the staff radiated positive energy, they seemed genuinely happy to be there, which makes a difference when dealing with thousands of travelers daily. Jacob's Pickles is definitely a must-visit spot when passing through JFK Terminal 5.

They said "let me check" and looked for what was apparently our waiter. Still nothing. Finally, about 5 minutes later, we ordered. I then watched people sit after we did and began getting their drinks. We still had nothing. Had to ask 3 times only to be told let me check. The drinks finally arrived but another 15 at least before the food. Service was worse than vad and its clear management isnt managing. The staff all looked like they were lost. The food was just ok, not note worthy, but after all that, I didn't care. I was hungry. Then it came time to pay and I had to hunt down someone to take my money. They WERE busy but even with that, they dont seem to care at all. Its an airport. People gotta get in and get gone so they dont miss their flight. Not here.
