They were basically out of everything I wanted, and the food we got was terrible. When you come to a restaurant because the menu says your mac & cheese is famous and you have a hungry seven-year-old, the waiter should let you know that they're out of their one of their star items. The fried pickles were so doughy that you could barely see a pickle, the waffle fries were undercooked, and the pickle slaw looked like you could've gotten it at Stop and Shop deli counter and added pickle chips. I then watched people sit after we did and began getting their drinks. We still had nothing. Had to ask 3 times only to be told let me check. The drinks finally arrived but another 15 at least before the food. Service was worse than vad and its clear management isnt managing. The staff all looked like they were lost. My husband and I got the honey chicken and pickles. The chicken was juicy and the sauce was just the right sweetness. The sauce got everywhere making our hands sticky. The pickles were ok. Nicole, my waitress, was attentive, friendly, and just plain wonderful. I had the vegetarian omelet and the waffle fries, both, of which, were delicious. The reason for the three stars is that it took over 45 minutes for my meal to arrive...in the airport. SMH Tip for everyone: they have a panel by the kitchen that shows all the pending orders and their status in red, yellow, and white. 3/4 of the display was red this morning. First, the gentleman who seated me was very polite and professional. From there it was downhill. It took forever to get my waitress to come take my order, and even longer to get my soda. For reference, the tables of three and four near me all got waited on and their drinks before even though I eventually ordered before them. The food...that was honestly the worst I've ever had. Which is sad because I love Jacob's Pickles and Maison Pickle in the city. I know this is an abbreviated version. So I expected a little less. But this was astoundingly bad. The biscuit was stale. I realized after the fact that I was given the wrong sandwich--but even that was not made as it's supposed to be with "creamy BBQ sauce and melted pepper jack cheese." Instead a heap of cold, uncooked shredded cheese was just thrown on top. The slaw came out with some mystery sauce on one side of the plate and the other side had slaw hanging off touching the table. By the time I was an hour in and desperate to pay, I was unable to get my waitress until I finally stood up and the host helped flag her over, and I was pretty sure I was being punked. For the food, 4 stars but for the price... 3. So I'm giving this spot 3.5 stars overall but on the lower end of that for the overall experience. The fried pickle spears were great with their house dipping sauce. Not soggy and tons of flavor. Definitely a great reason why they have their name! Fried chicken Caesar was ok. Well-dressed but chicken breading has no flavor and a bit dry. Needed to use the rest of my fried pickle sauces to compensate. They had a Jacob's pickles draft beer (and despite the pickles in the name it does not have or taste like pickles!). Really great draft beer though. Great lager flavor. The problem is that for those 3 items I paid almost $60 including tip. About what you can expect given this is NYC and the airport but that's pretty steep given the location. Service was fine enough, but given that you're in a casual spot at JFK it's nothing fancy. They helped me fast but I noticed some inconsistencies when people tried to get their attention at the bar. New airport outpost of Jacob's Pickles in Terminal 4/JFK. The layout is not huge, but comfortable, with some tables, booths, and a bar. We decided to eat at the bar. The bartender was very pleasant. Our orders arrived promptly. The menu is an abridged version of the regular Jacob's Pickles restaurant menu. There is a breakfast menu until 11am. Other items mostly revolve around fried chicken and biscuits. I ordered the honey chicken sandwich with fries. Everything was delicious! The waffle fries were super crispy. Jacobs Pickles On the way to my gate at the JetBlue terminal in JFK, having time for a quick lunch before departure, decided to try Jacob's Pickles. The space was well lit and lots of seating with charging outlets even at the bar. We saw two seating at the end of a high top which is convenient for our carryon bags and were seated right away by a very nice server. Ordered the Jacob's Burger, it was extraordinarily good, straight out of the kitchen warm, sweet high quality beef topped with onions, pickles of course and cheese served on a brioche bun with enough substance to hold the very moist hamburger and its toppings. I came to Jacob's pickle this morning and I was very disappointed as I been wanting to try this place and the pickles. I ordered beer first and my first 3 options they told us they didn't have any.... I asked for miller lite, modelo and coors, and they didn't have any. Then we ordered food and of course wanted to try the famous pickles, and guess what? A pickle named business didn't have any fried pickles. They didn't have half the items on the menu on a Saturday morning. This included no biscuits for the sandwiches, so everything was served on a basic hamburger bun, but we were all charged the same price as a biscuit. The eggs were not cooked and neither was the bacon. The runny eggs exploded all over my son's plate when he took a bite. We also ordered the fried pickles and they never showed up. My husband and I were on route to Cancun, Mexico and had a layover at JFK. We stopped at Jacob's Pickles because it seemed as though it was the only sit down restaurant to eat. It was extremely busy and luckily we had plenty of time to wait for our connecting flight. We were surprised at how good the food was. I had the ham, egg and cheese biscuit with fresh fruit and my husband had a ham and cheese omelette with delicious waffle fries. The portions were huge, everything was cooked to perfection, and the service was good considering how busy it was. I thought the ambience was nice with the choices of tables and chairs, high top tables and a bar. I recommend this restaurant...if you're in a hurry, it's not the place to go just because it seems like the only sit down restaurant. I think JFK should add another choice . read more

This location is about a month old at the time of my review. Hopefully, they will improve. As is, the food itself was really good. I had the Caesar salad with chicken and a mocktail that was good enough for me to enjoy on a summer day. The location itself also looked nice on the inside, and the design choices to have an open seated area thar faced the hallway towards the gates was a good design choice. The service was bad. The front of house person was good in being accommodating and welcoming, but I sat for 15 minutes before being acknowledged by any server. I asked the front of house staff whether I should order at the bar, and then a server went to take my food. I then sat for another 15 minutes with no acknowledgement from anyone nor drink so far, only for the server to say "I didn't forget about you" when they brought my drink 30 minutes after sitting down--and right with my salad. I finished the salad and then was waiting to pay, had to flag another server to pay, and then was given the POS machine to pay myself. That wouldn't normally be a problem, but the machine was clearly programmed for a server to complete the transaction. They designed this space--and priced the food and drinks--to the expectations of a full service restaurant and bar with the front of house experience lacking in its ability to deliver. I hope they figure out how to improve their service, but I'd only order to-go or order from elsewhere in Terminal 5 before then. read more

Long lines to get in, big delays upon sitting, empty seats, 10+ orders ready in the kitchen, At least 10 employees outside of the kitchen just walking around being useless -- and can't get an order right to save their lives.
