After relocating from Seattle to Dallas, I truly thought finding a new hairstylist was going to be the hardest thing ever. I've always been fairly particular, and have had extensions for nearly a decade... and then I found Dolls and Beaus. After meeting Veronica and having a consultation with her (and her amazing service pupper Jasper!) I knew I had struck gold. Veronica is truly everything you'd expect in a hairstylist. and she's extremely passionate about what she does. She is extremely knowledgeable and took the time to answer and questions I had when it came to my extensions. Sad to say, but in the past I've had entire ROWS of my extensions come out; or, even worse, RIP out my hair. I knew from the moment I met Veronica that this would never happen again as long as she was around. Suffice to say, I have yet to have a single bead fall out since she's been putting my extensions in. Like I said above, I'm fairly particular, so I can safely say that she's also phenomenal with color and its process, and she's able to make my crazy custom color fantasies come to life. Veronica is always a great time, she really cares about her clients and forms unique bonds with each of them. I'm truly lucky to have found her! Now I don't think I can ever leave Dallas because I don't think I'll ever be able to find another stylist of a similar caliber. I thought about whether or not to leave a review because I liked Veronica so much personally and people tend to get defensive, especially artists, about yelp reviews which is understandable, but I wanted to share my honest experience because I found her originally from yelp after relocating from CA. Let me first say she is really cool. I left wanting to be friends with her and still feel that way. I don't, however, like my hair and am going to have to pay full price to get it fixed somewhere else because she won't fix anything for me. I think she sees it as a creative difference but it really just plain doesn't look good. At a week after my session, I think it's the worst color job I've had in recent memory. I usually get color 4-5 times a year. I have really long hair that I do in a balayage blonde. Been doing this color and style for about 17 years and always bounce around places bc we move a lot. I've had to redo the color twice in the past, and both times went back to the salon I went to for a color repair, no cost, no hard feelings and no big deal. This time, I left and didn't really realize my hair didn't look great until two days later because the style was so pretty when I left and because the ends look fine. After a shower and pulling it into a pony tail, I realized the color is very brassy and orange from my scalp to about halfway down, and it then turns super blonde at the middle and bottom half. It makes sense bc my roots are dark and were grown out but the color wasn't left in long enough up top. The last stylist I saw divided my hair intentionally to leave the top part on longer. I know Veronica was trained well and probably has an explanation in her training for why she did what, but my hair looks terrible. My daughter actually said to me, "mom, why didn't you do blonde like me? Your hair is red." I think she meant orange. Some parts are for sure blonde and pretty including the ends. But there's a lot mixed in that doesn't look good. My husband said to me tonight, "if you're in certain lighting it doesn't look THAT bad." Ugh. The highlights don't go up to my scalp because it's balayage but it's also not really low enough for what I consider balayage. The streaks near my face are 1/2 inch out so it just immediately looks like it needed to be redone. I was like, "ok, no biggie, I'll text her and get it redone. I'm sure she'll understand." After 24 hours of not hearing back, I texted for a third time and basically I will have to just schedule another apt if I want it lighter. She offered me a complimentary conditioning if I come in but that's not what I want. I just want what I originally came in for. It's not that I wanted my hair super light, it's just that I didn't want brassy streaks and different color highlights. It reminds me of when I used to use sun-in in my hair as a teenager. I'm just going to go to another place for another full session but this experience and my $250 are not happy and I wouldn't recommend this place professionally. Every time I look in the mirror I say the same thing to myself. "My hair looks terrible." I don't remember ever feeling this way after getting it colored. Maybe years ago, but nothing in recent memory. It sucks. I work and raise two babies alone so finding time and money for a correction apt somewhere else seems super daunting to me. read more

Her salon suite is clean, adorable, and I love the precautions she is taking during all the COVID-19 craziness. Firstly, I want to say I have VERY thick hair with various textures throughout. Some of it is relaxed, some is natural, some is somewhere in between. Veronica did an amazing job of blowing it out and making the textures feel and look even throughout. I don't know what type of product she used to wash it, but my hair was SO soft afterwards. My experience with Veronica was wonderful. I have never had a stylist be so determined to see her client satisfied, and it was honestly a breath of fresh air. I have had color put in, color taken out, and braids and I have absolutely loved the results every single visit. So, Veronica does men's cuts and she does a great job! I would highly recommend her services to any of my friends. The price is great compared to the quality of service. You'll spend double for a subpar cut at The Boardroom just because of the name. Great location to get a cut, I got there early today and had a drink downstairs at Chip's.
