I've been a regular customer here, but unfortunately, the quality of service has declined with each visit. The threading no longer justifies the price, and the overall experience has become disappointing. This one-star review is specifically for my most recent visit. The woman who threaded my brows was visibly sick. Although she wore a mask, she was frequently sniffing and I could feel her breath while she worked on my face -- it was extremely uncomfortable and unhygienic. If you're unwell, especially when working in close contact with clients, please stay home. I left feeling angry and disgusted -- especially since I have an international trip tomorrow and have been doing everything I can to avoid getting sick. If you're looking for quality service, I'd recommend going elsewhere. I won't be returning. read more

They're honestly really nice people and prices are great. Unfortunately this is the second time that my eyebrows have not been done correctly. If you get the original two then you're in good hands, unfortunately the two times I have gone I have been with two new people. The first new one, she thinned out my eyebrows where I had to let them grow out for months. Today, they're uneven. I almost never change my eyebrow lady but inflation has pushed me through. Super happy I did though ! - she delivered what I wanted and I love my eyebrows. She was professional, sweet, and extremely calming. None of my skin ripped (harsh threading does that) and she got the shape I asked for :) Also love that they're not charging $30 for brows!! I've been coming here for 3 years now and pretty much do not plan to go anywhere else. Dolly and Shyama know what they're doing. I usually do either eyebrow or a full face thread. Amazing work, my eyebrows and face look fabulous afterwards! They offer aloe Vera to soothe your skin afterwards and it works great. Their service is very detail oriented and very clean. I feel safe coming here knowing they'll take good care of my skin. Threading works great on hair removal, however I will say that for super stubborn ingrown hairs it can be challenging to get the same effects. Usually plucking on your own will cover those hairs instead so don't expect that threading can remove super stubborn ingrown underneath the skin hairs always. But otherwise hair removal is so efficient here and quick. Preferred cash if you can for payment, but they do have options for credit card as well. You can schedule an appointment but generally walk ins work. They do get busy sometimes so you might have to wait a bit, perhaps half hour. To me it's worth it because I know they do a great job and I don't want them being rushed to offer anything less than what they do currently. Parking lot is free and right next to it by Walgreens and also other areas nearby all free (3 hour limit I think). Note their hours, they are closed Mondays and Tuesday so plan accordingly. I should have took a before foto cause DAMN! MY EYEBROWS WERE REAL CATERPILLARS. GROWN OUT FOR OVER A MONTH. I CANT GET THEM DONE ANYWHERE ELSE BECAUAE EVERY SINCE I STARTED COMING HERE.... SHYAMA NEVER DISSAPOINTS To start, they have online appt slots available. But they were kind enough to take me as a walk in :) Upon arrival they check temperature before allowing people in and everyone must wear a mask. The ladies wear their mask properly and clean the chairs after every use. Once you sit down they give you hand sanitizer and they use some and wear gloves as well. Their eyebrow threading service is not done using the mouth they have adapted a head/ neck piece to do the threading and they are very detail oriented. This woman did not allow me to leave my seat until my eyebrows were damn near perfect ! She went back in and made small corrections as needed.. she got them as perfect as she could get them which is the best I've ever gotten honestly. Look at how clean and symmetrical! read more

It was our first time for getting our brows threading my these ladies. It was totally random thought while we were having our lunch closed by. The lady that did my eye brow threading was sweet and kind but unfortunately, the right side was overworked as the difference was quite obvious. I didn't ask her to make further adjustment on the left said as it was how to wanted it to be. They do prefer to be paid by cash even though they have Square available. The boss lady would demand to be paid by cash. They also accept appointment but it is not necessary. I am afraid that I will need to go back to my regular lady for future threading. read more

I came here to get my eyebrows shaped before catching a train. Really nice people but disappointing experience. The lady asked me not to wipe off my eyebrow makeup so she could follow the kind of shape I had but I came to get my shape fixed? I didn't have the time to try and explain that I wanted them to help me find a suitable shape, so I just hoped they would at least help me achieve some clean lines. Unfortunately that was not the case. I ended up having some stray hairs and weird lines (due to my bad penciling). Wish I didn't spend 3x the price I normally pay to get a simple threading that I could have gotten at a swap meet. Great spot for threading in Menlo Park! The parking there is super easy and free for a few hours. They take walk ins which is great if you're running errands and wanna stop by when you have a free moment without an appointment. The process here I felt was less painful than other threading salons I had been to. My skin was way less irritated and didn't feel like I needed the aloe at the end which I like to avoid since I have sensitive skin in general. I told them I just wanted a clean up on my brows and they did exactly that without altering my shape. I got eyebrows, upper lip, and chin which was $30 al together. They do accept credit card here! Not terrible pricing but I've definitely gotten cheaper. This might not be my go-to spot because of the frequency I do threading and the pricing but if I'm in a bind and in the area I know shelling out a little extra cash would be worth it. read more

Dolly may have just changed me from getting my eyebrows waxed to getting them threaded. I came across this place via Groupon as they had a deal for eyebrow and upper lip threading, I first took to Yelp and was surprised by the perfect 5 star rating that with the fact they are close to work was why I purchased the Groupon. I went late in the evening after work and there was no wait at all, Dolly greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. She asked what services I was getting, I showed her the Groupon, she asked if I had ever had threading done before and she also asked me if I was sure that I wanted my upper lip done as it may be painful for first timers. I found her to be really nice and accommodating, she made sure that I was comfortable and didn't want my experience to be an unpleasant one. I've had my eyebrows threaded before maybe 8-10 years ago and it was the most painful experience but here I didn't feel much pain, it was a lot less painful than getting my eyebrows waxed. Now my upper lip on the other had was a bit sensitive and painful but that was expected. Dolly was very thorough and is great at what she does, I was going to ask her to arch my eyebrows but I figured she would shape them perfectly and she did. I am loving my eyebrows! I think this will be my new place for all my eyebrow needs, they are great at what they do, very professional, close to work and they close at 7pm. read more

These ladies are the BEST! I am super particular about my eyebrows. I have gotten them waxed or threaded for 15 years and I have gone through so many different threaders, even going so far as Fremont. But, here in Menlo Park, I found the best service in the whole bay area. I'm not just saying this because I really like Dolly and Shyama (which I do, because they are so sweet and accommodating) but because they are expert threaders. Seriously, my eyebrows have never looked better. It's not even painful and even though a little redness is unavoidable, when Dolly or Shyama do my threading, the redness goes away in like 10 minutes (and I have sensitive skin). Also, way less expensive than most places on the Peninsula, with I think $14 for the eyebrow threading. It can be a little hard to find -- they are located in a small room inside DJ's Hair salon, so you have to go into the hair salon and turn left and there's a small sign for Dolly and Shyama. It's a bit complicated but you can call them at 510-943-8966 if you get lost. I always text beforehand just to make sure they're free. Okay, that enough for my effusive compliments! I contacted Dolly to ask what precautions they were taking during COVID. She explained they wear the mask, gloves, they sanitize the chair before/after, they take client temperature before the walk into the salon, and they use their neck --not their mouth for the thread. I decided to give it a try, I was mostly intrigued with "using the neck." The last time I came to see Dolly was in January of 2020. Today, she did not disappoint me. This review is LONG overdue for me. I had been seeing Dolly for well over a year and always meant to write a lovely review for this salon. I was new to the Bay Area and kissed a lot of threading frogs before finally finding Dolly & Shyama. They were warm, friendly and inviting from the moment I stepped in and Dolly was more than accommodating for my specific requests. I have sensitive skin and she was extremely gentle with me and helped me get my eyebrows back into shape after another threader from Belmont threaded them to within an inch of their life. I religiously saw Dolly every two weeks and she always remembered me and knew exactly how I liked my brows. I am very sad that I no longer live in the area, but I will most definitely go back whenever I visit. If you are looking for a threading place that is clean, gentle and worth the money: go here. The only downside I have is that it's a bit pricey ($22 for brows and lip) and they prefer cash, but I will gladly pay for quality service any day.
