The dentist explains everything so well and she is very patient with all the kids. My youngest son is still pretty skeptical about getting X-rays done and getting his teeth cleaned, but the staff did so well with him and has helped him get through all of his appointments no matter how much he protested. So there is one receptionist (female) who is very flat. She lacks personality and never seems to be happy for a young person. I've probably had 4 interactions with her and they've all been unpleasant. I've never seen her smile and her tone and facial expressions are as cold as the waiting room's temperature (bring a sweater or light jacket! It's freezing in the waiting area). She's usually the first and last person I see so she's my first and last impression of the clinic. Not the greatest. That's unfortunate because everyone else is so great!

We finally arrived, checked in, waited, and was about to be called back, until the team in the back noticed the balance, which was previously discussed with the accounting department. It took me speaking with the office manager to discuss my concern of the mis communication with the staff @ the front desk, the hygienists in the back with not so much good customer service, side bar conversations with the front desk and hygienists.. It's definitely noticeable with the new staff. Thanks! To the office manager for rectifying the situation. Out of my 17 years of taking my kids, I have never such a bad experience like I did today.

But most importantly, he didn't NEED two crowns! Furious As far as scheduling, I made two appts for 11am. They gave me the purple appt reminder slip. I was surprised to receive a confirmation text a week before the appt. Turns out, they rescheduled a week earlier and 90 minutes apart. When I called, they said they didn't know why anyone in the office would give us two appts at the same time on that day and what they sent for confirmation was all they had available.

The hygienists have consistently gone above and beyond -- even coming to the car to walk her in away from crowds to help prevent overstimulation. Previous providers have always allowed me, as her mother, to assist during appointments because they understood her sensitivities and triggers. That level of compassion is why we stayed loyal to this office. Unfortunately, today's experience with Dr. Johnson was completely different and honestly upsetting. At first, she seemed okay, but during the examination she repeatedly denied me the ability to comfort my child. When she introduced a sharp dental tool that has NEVER been used on my daughter before, I attempted to help and reassure her, but Dr. Johnson physically pushed my hand away and stated, "I've got this, I'm quick and I know what I'm doing." My daughter is autistic. She is sporadic, strong, and can become overwhelmed very quickly. Any provider working with special needs children should understand the importance of patience, regulation, and allowing a child to feel safe before proceeding. Instead, Dr. Johnson continued trying to force my daughter to allow the tool in her mouth even while she was clearly showing signs of overstimulation and distress. It took me firmly stating, "I know my own child," before she finally allowed my daughter a moment to recenter herself. This experience was unacceptable. Autism is not one-size-fits-all, and bedside manner matters -- especially in pediatric special needs care. I am deeply disappointed that despite being informed multiple times that my daughter is autistic, her needs and comfort appeared to be dismissed.

In addition to calling me to discuss payment arrangements for $1,200, she mentioned that another patient is facing the same issue and needs to set up payment arrangements. This seems more than coincidental. How insurance processing is handled at this establishment certainly needs to be addressed. As a result of this experience, my child will no longer be visiting this office, and this practice may lose several other patients if these issues persist.
