    Half dozen, mixed variety
    Emily L.

I decided to pick a half dozen for some coworkers. I went on a Wednesday at around 10:30 am. I decided to get the mixed assortment, but I switched out the cinnamon sugar for the seasonal flavor of the month (peach crumble) For the mixed assortment, it was about $10 after tax which isn't too bad for 6 donuts. I would return again. They have delicious donuts and I think they are the best in the Pullman area!

Dom's cake donuts are different than your typical cake donuts and are SO delicious!! As their hours are limited, the donuts are warm and fresh. I try to visit when I'm in the area visiting my Coug.

Half-dozen donuts with plain, maple bacon, striped, chocolate, s'mores, and cookies and cream.

So exciting to give Dom's Donuts their first review! These donuts are dense and cakey, so not your standard yeasted donuts, but still so delicious and flavorful. You could probably eat two for every yeasted donut. The maple bacon and cookies n cream stand out as the best, but you can't go wrong with the whole variety. Welcome to Pullman!

A small trailer with big flavor. Dom's Donuts might have the best cake donut I've ever had! It was really good.

The restaurant is nice and quiet which is so important to me because i love to run my mouth when im eating out. I got the vegetarian option, which I was grateful for because most of the times hot pot places aren't too accommodating for non meat eaters. Unfortunately my food was lacking a little in flavor. Could it have been that I got the veggie version and that sometimes flops in the flavor department? Or could it have been that I didn't select a spice level high enough? I'm not sure, but I'm willing to give it a second try's

In my Taiwanese hot pot I got a great variety of meat, fish and vegetables, much more than I expected for a great price. Service was timely, waitress was helpful, and it was a nice interior. My biggest critique is the fact that both hot pots I tried (veggie and taiwan) were not spicy in the slightest, like at all, when we got the maximum spice level. The waitress did tell us this would be the case and its clearly because of the white palates here but I was still disappointed by the fact that the hot pots didn't have the signature sichuan spice of malatangs. The numbing spiciness of chinese/taiwanese hot pot is something that sets apart this cuisine for me so that makes me sad. It satisfies my craving for now but what I really want from spicy hot pot is to see completely neon red broth.

We got there right around 6PM on Monday. There were only two other parties there so service was pretty quick. I think we got our food without 15 or 20 minutes. Chicken Fried Steak Burger ($15.49) - Starting with the meat, we have a pork chop that's breaded and fried. The pork still has a bit of fat and gristle attached and doesn't seem to be tenderized that much given a somewhat more firm bite. Still it's meaty, has good seasoning and, while not especially moist, isn't dry either. On the exterior they have a nice layer of breading that's quite salty but adds a good crunch to the sandwich. On top of the meat, there's a fried egg with the egg yolk still runny. Biting through the sandwich allows the yolk to ooze out. They add shredded potatoes to the burger, which I found to be quite week. The potatoes are undercooked, resulting in pieces that have a bit too much raw bite without any additional crisp crunch. There's a peppery and decadent sausage gravy dousing everything, which seems homemade, with larger pieces of breakfast pork pieces. I found the burger to be way too rich and it desperately needs a piquant element to cut through that a little bit. Otherwise it's eating heavy bite after heavy bite and is difficult to get through. Still it's tasty. (3/5) Upgrade Side to Poutine ($2.49) - The burgers come with fresh cut fries by default, but I chose to upgrade to poutine. Apparently if you just ask for poutine, they use tots, but I asked them to switch to fries - and to make them extra crispy. Were they extra crispy? Not at all. If anything, they were more like extra soggy. The fries are clearly single fried and not fried nearly long enough to add any sort of crisp. The brown gravy and queso (tostitos perhaps given the peppers?) taste as expected. With everything together, it's honestly indistinguishable from microwaved leftover poutine. Probably the most disappointing thing I ate that night. (2/5) KC's Burger ($11.49) - The patty is beefy, cooked medium with a bit of pink, and is exceptionally moist and flavorful. They add tons of veggies, including pickle, onion, tomato, and lettuce, giving freshness with every bite. There's a perfect amount of condiments to add additional moisture, but not too much to make the burger messy to eat. This is a solid burger, honestly not much else I can say about it. (4/5) Upgrade Side to Green Bean Fries ($2.49) - I haven't had green bean fries before, so I had to order this. I have to say this was much better than expected - in fact, this was the best thing I ate during the meal. They have a pretty good crisp exterior and the interior green bean is mostly tender but still exhibits a tiny bit of a snap. The green beans are not soggy at all. I would get these over and over again. (5/5) Frybread Slice ($1.49) - This was the last chance to get frybread on our road trip and we took advantage of it. This "slice" is essentially a small doughnut triangle, maybe 4 inches at the widest. The dough is dense and heavy, bready and chewy, folded over in a swirl rather than flattened. The taste has a bit of a subtle sourdoughy taste, but also a bit of bitterness from the oil. It's definitely very different from all the Native American frybreads we had this trip. (4/5) The food at KC's is a bit hit and miss, but if you stay with the burgers and avoid getting the fries, you'll probably leave satisfied. I see a lot of the negative reviews complaining about service, but we didn't have a problem. Perhaps since those reviews were written, the staff has improved? Bathrooms: Two individual rooms ones for each gender in the hallway behind the bar. Overall rating of the food this visit: 3.6/5

The dining room was almost empty when I walked in, and no one greeted me. They were playing some Kanye west music behind the counter so I thought there'd be some livelihood but... there wasn't. One of the younger employees who took my order was fine but you could tell he didn't want to be there and the person at the register seemed like they didn't really want to be there either. They weren't outright rude, but the interaction definitely wasn't welcoming and both of them mumbled and spoke so low, I had to ask them both multiple times what they were saying. I ordered two donuts and a cup of coffee, which came to $7.35. For what was a Keurig coffee with basic shelf-stable creamer, it felt overpriced. On the positive side, the donuts were good. You can tell they're handmade, and they had a nice taste. They were definitely the highlight of the visit. Maybe my expectations were too high because of all the recommendations I'd heard, but I expected a Saturday morning at such a well-known donut shop to have more energy and atmosphere. Instead, it felt surprisingly underwhelming and lacked the welcoming vibe I was hoping for. Overall, the donuts were solid, but nothing about the experience made me eager to come back. I don't regret trying it, but I also don't really understand the hype.
