RUN. DO NOT LIVE HERE. I had to be moved in the middle of the year due to safety concerns because of my roommates where I had to go to the police and I was forced to go from a standard 4x4 to a renovated 4x4 because "that's all they had" so my rent went from $410 to $700. We were suppose to get a renovated apt but instead we got a apt that was trashed it was painted bright green and yellow, had no doors in any of the bathrooms, was filthy dirty when we moved in with human feces on the wall, had damage on all the walls, never got all of the furniture that comes with the apt, had paint on the floors and ceiling, etc. Then when our lease ended and we gave back the keys they tried to make us sign saying we were liable for the damage that was done from the previous tenants (the green/yellows walls, damage to walls, etc) because that's the risk we took taking the apartment as is in the middle of the year when as I stated before we had no choice in taking that apartment because the manager himself was the one who put us into that apartment and it was supposedly the only apartment they had left for the current year and this coming fall which I don't believe. We knew the apt needed some TLC because that was his exact words but we didn't know how bad it was, we were promised it would be painted and cleaned by the manager but this was never done and when we asked when those things were going to be done and said we did not feel comfortable paying $700 for a renovated apt until it was actually renovated.. me and my roommate were told we could go back to our apt that we had to move from where we had safety concerns and had to get the police involved in the first place where I couldn't even go to the kitchen without our roommate trying to fight. The domain told me they do not guarantee safety, so if u are looking for a safe place for your child look else where because they do not care about their tenants and are not accommodating at all... all they care about is money. It's impossible to talk to the managers they hide behind the kids at the desk and tell you they will call you back then never call, problems never get resolved unless you plan to go in the office everyday or call them everyday and hassle them to get a solution to your problem. Every month random charges would be on my account labeled as "rent" for no reason and I would have to go down to the office and get it removed and the office workers couldn't tell me what it was about. They were constantly messing up things on my account and the workers never had any idea what they were talking about, no one knows how to do their job and their was constantly an issue with them, AVOID THIS PLACE.

Disgusting, out of date appliances that require maintenance often and usually require maintenance again, plumbing that is subpar (tub and sink take hours to drain after a shower and after having maintenance say it's okay), the pool which was a big selling point for me not being open majority of the summer, and just a general weed stench in most of the hallways. No elevator in building B so good luck moving your stuff and if you're in building A, have fun having a literal brick wall as a view. There are also random charges in your account with no explanation, usually only around $20-60 but annoying nonetheless. Staff are very nice however. Money goes towards recruitment and retention efforts with cute activities but not towards keeping the building in repair.

When I moved in, the carpets were so dirty that our feet turned black from walking. I had to call and email non stop to get them to hire a company to come clean. At first they were trying to get me to pay for it myself. Besides that, the wall paper is peeling off, bathroom has poor ventilation and there is mold. Someone broke into my apartment in 2025 at night and I got it on my ring camera. I can to leasing office first thing the next day and the person working in the office (Molly) tried to at first say that I had left the door unlocked. I had to sit in leasing office for over an hour to demand for the locks to be changed by maintenance that same day, because she tried to tell me nobody was available to change the locks until the following day. My locks did get changed after sitting there until someone helped me. Now as of 2026, my biggest issue this spring is that they never have the grass mowed. It is May 2026 and the grass has only been mowed twice so far. The grass was practically a foot tall, they finally got it mowed but didn't bag the grass and so there's clumps of grass everywhere. Since then they have only mowed one other time. With how bad ticks are this season, it is a huge issue for residents with pets having to walk through extremely tall grass. We pay too much to not have the grass mowed. Wouldn't recommend living here.

I moved to The Ridge in February of 2013 when my job transferred me to Morgantown. I took over a…read moresublease that I found on Craigslist because it was the cheapest place per room in town. I had specifically taken over the lease from a girl who was living in a 4 bedroom with all girls. I did this because I've lived with and shared a bathroom with guys and know that they're gross. However, I was placed in a different apartment than the one I had applied for. I didn't know at the time but this is called "steering" and is a violation of the Federal Fair Housing Act by discriminating based on gender. My leasing consultant was Jessie. However, I never saw him in the office again after my first tour. I signed my lease and moved into my apartment. They said they had lined me up with a roommate who was from my home town. What seemed sketchy is that they just gave me the keys to the apartment when I had never met the roommates and didn't know if they knew anyone was moving in. The room itself was not very clean. Lots of dust and the whitish berber carpeting was tinged brown and had obviously not been cleaned. The ceiling fan blades has huge chunks of dirt on them. There was even a picture in the closet and another one behind the dresser. Without the guidance of the leasing consultant or a proper orientation to the property, I had a few questions that were never answered. Should I have a parking permit? Apparently not. There were always new cars I'd never seen parked outside my place. How did the shuttle work? I never figured that out. Did I have to pay for utilities? I think my roommate just paid those. I only actually lived there for 4 months as I was transferred again for work. But I didn't try to sublease for the remaining 2 months because I didn't think it was worth paying the fee to do so. One day I came to get some of the stuff out of my room and all of my stuff had been tossed around. Apparently maintenance had come in and painted the walls of my bedroom. In the process, they splattered paint all over the desk and my things. Then in late July, I came back to get the rest of my stuff to find my roommates had apparently moved out. There was a large stack of papers at our door with move-out instructions but it was too late for me to try to follow them as it was my last day to grab my stuff. When I left the apartment, all that was left was a bag of trash in the living room that was not ours. The maintenance staff had left it there while repainting the living room. Shortly after my lease ended, I was contacted by a bill collector for $75 I supposedly owed for trash removal. These charges were supposed to be split between the three roommates. So you're telling me that you charged us $225 to remove one bag of trash that your employees left there? I disputed the charge and have heard nothing since. Overall, you can tell these used to be nice apartments but they have not been well taken care of. I decided that if I had stayed in Morgantown, I was moving to West Run. The Ridge had changed their pricing to no longer be the cheapest in town so it was no longer worth it. My main complaints would be the 9000 speed bumps into and out of the property, the blind left turn to get into the property, and the gross pool and hot tub. The pool is not heated and the hot tub is not cleaned. There's always scum floating on top of it and a dead frog the last time I was in it. Oh, and there's supposedly a business center in the clubhouse but they make you feel uncomfortable for going in there and only one of the computers has internet access. The weirdest thing about all of this is that about a year after I first moved in, they were hiring for a leasing consultant. I found out about it because they sent out an email to all former residents. I explained to them that I lived in Ohio now but would move back. They told me to come pick up an application. I told them I wouldn't come to WV just to get an application so they said they would check if they could email me one. Never did. So I called again and they said just to show up at the day of the interviews at a certain time and they would have me fill out the application later. So I suit up and drive 3 hours to get there. The front door is locked and a blanket is draped over it. They tell me I have to go through the gym. Luckily I'm a previous resident so I know the gym code. I then walk into the entrance to the office from the gym and they all freak out, telling me I have to WAIT in the gym. So I stand in the gym with a few other people and realize that they're there for interviews too. I'm in a suit and the guy I'm talking to is in sweatpants. I finally get into the office to be sat in front of a panel of interviewers at three separate tables. They have a video camera set up on the desk. They tell me that this is my "Leasing Idol" audition. WTF? So apparently I was supposed to have a song prepared (WTF does that have to do with the job?).I left a VM later asking for an app.No Response

My apartment had dirt everywhere, uncleaned bathrooms, and un vacuumed floors. It also smelled highly of marijuana and body odor, which took months to get rid of. The WiFi never works. I run my TV, computer, and iPad off my own hotspot because the wifi never works!!! It is an absolute nightmare being a college student (especially when it goes out during an at home proctored exam). When I transferred units, I was charged nearly $200 in damage charges of things that were already there when I moved in (that I had taken note of on the move in checklist, which they "lost"). It was August when I submitted an appeal and followed up weekly. Still haven't gotten a refund or heard anything since September (it's now January). I had roommate issues and wanted to either get out of my lease or transfer units. One reason was out of concern for my own safety after someone was basically trying to break into our apartment (police were called). Wasn't able to and the person in the apartment who caused it had no reprocussion. It is impossible to get out of a lease here and to just communicate with staff. I ended up moving home and just paid rent. It seems like they don't even care about their residents. However, they seem to pick and choose who they like. I have seen them waive fees for some, I have seen them let people move units easy peasy, and I have seen them let residents get away with stuff for way too long. Everything is outdated and old. Our dishwasher broke and flooded our kitchen THREE times. First time they fixed it with DUCT TAPE. Second time they replaced a seal (didn't last long), and third time when it flooded AGAIN, they finally ordered a new one. Guess what... Took 2 weeks to hear back, just to learn they gave it to another unit and forgot about us. There is also a bug problem. No matter what, there are always gnats and flies all over the apartment. They also act like they are so strict about parking and parking passes, but it lasts a week. There are cars in guest parking that have been there MONTHS (flat tires and all) and haven't been towed. They claim guests are only to park there no more than 3-4 days. Which adds to the difficulty of guests abiding to the rules to find parking. Then they risk getting towed from resident parking without a pass, even though every single guest lot is full. The only staff I have had pleasant experiences with are the ones who are there when I pick up my packages. They always try to help, but management hasn't been the best. They are all very poor about communication as well. I could go on about how much this place sucks and would give it 0 stars if I could. Save yourself money and frustration and go somewhere else, even if the rates are low here (probably because it sucks). I am looking forward to moving out the second my lease ends, heck even sooner if I can. I'll probably add more if I can think of it.

They also let my roommate and I move into a building with a known COCKROACH INFESTATION, and they won't do anything about it!!!! The managers are ridiculous and "not in" so they won't be confronted. Our building has been going back and forth with them for MONTHS trying to get them to fix it but all they've done is spray specific walls, so the bugs just migrate to other walls. This place is completely ridiculous. The wifi has also been out for weeks at a time since I've moved in. The unit was also disgusting when I moved in. I had to mop several times to get the water from black to gray, there were also pee stains in every room with carpet and the whole place smelled horrible. We have shampooed the carpets soo many times and the smell never went away. The cabinet doors don't shut even though we keep screwing the hinges tighter. The dryers also suck, you have to dry everything twice.
