Improved over the previous owner but they need to pick up on the consistency of the quality of the food.

The waitstaff is attentive and the owners are never too far away. The pizza is just fantastic! I've had the Godzilla, and the Chicken BBQ, and something with pineapples (which I really don't think belongs on pizza, but was really okay in this instance (paired well with the ham)). The crust is really good and high quality, wood fired pizza ovens add a little something extra. We always go with a party of 10 or more. We've sampled the salads, appetizers, and pasta dishes and everything has been really good. They also have an ice cream cooler and offer many different flavors by the cup or cone, and it's very good quality and a GREAT way to end a meal here.

I worked there back in 2019 and I was going through the most rough time of my life with my mother being in the hospital at the time, I messed up at work because my mind wasn't in a good spot, I owned up to my mistakes but the owner was still very rude to me. The staff didn't even bother to talk to me. They were very stuck up. Hopefully the same people that once worked there no longer does.

Pizza made in a brick oven and great service! The price point is perfect and there is plenty of value here and lots of roomy tables.

First and foremost, I want to like Stevarino's I do want to spend money in my chosen hometown, but…read moreit's often difficult. We waited to give Stevarino's a second opportunity. Because the last one did not go well either. Even accounting for the slower life we are pursuing in our retirement community of choice, we don't have one hour and four minutes to wait on a pizza. Or 54 minutes to wait on a simple spaghetti and meatballs. Or seven minutes standing at the front desk with no one coming by to see you at the "please wait to be seated" podium. I'm older now, I don't have that kind of time to waste. The food was "OK". The spaghetti and meatballs (substituted sausage, maybe this required a trip to Italy") was lukewarm. It tasted OK. My pizza was basically loose and drippy in the center. Not from cheese, from being poorly cooked. Again, there was nothing special about the taste. Lastly, I had to send the first pizza serving tray back to be cleaned. I don't know if it's too little staff, too little caring, too little organization, too little training. It all adds up to a memorable experience for the wrong reasons. It is a very nice place when it comes to decor and such. Even a nice big lighted Christmas display for folks to use as a photo backdrop. Hopefully the ownership will take this review to heart and not blame it on "being too busy" (that sure wasn't the case" or "fussy clientele". It sure wasn't that either.

The service was excellent, so let's start there. The interior is part of an older building that has been partially renovated. Clean and all the tables get covered with butcher paper and, when combined with crayons, offers fun for everyone. Finally we get to why people go to restaurants / the food. We started with the Calamari, which was perfectly fried, not greasy at all, and served with a tasty marinara, but we would prefer lemon. The white pizza was excellent also, we added some Italian sausage and that put the final touch on the pizza. The Greek salad was fair, but it didn't really roll our socks down, and the spaghetti with meatballs also fell a little short for us - the sauce had great tomato flavour, but it lacked the herbiness (we'd even have been ok with some spicy heat) that you'd expect from a good sauce. They have daily specials that could appeal to some, and they have a rather eclectic menu, right down to fish and chips. We don't go through S. Pittsburgh very often, but we might be back. They also have a location in Chattanooga.

It's always great to find spots that cater to people with dairy sensitivities or different dietary choices. When you enter, you wait in line to order at the cash register. Then, you sit down and they bring you your food. I ordered a vegan pizza and sat at the bar. The bartender was very attentive and service was relatively fast despite the place being packed! While my pizza was a bit on the greasy side (which I didn't mind in the moment), the flavor was really enjoyable. Unfortunately, after eating there, I felt unwell for a couple of days. I can't confirm my stomach upset was related to the pizza, but that was my experience. They also host live music on weekend evenings. It was a little louder than I prefer, but if you enjoy a lively atmosphere, that could definitely be a plus. The place was busy when I visited, which is always a good sign, and while I had to park up the street, the free parking was convenient. Overall, I appreciate that they offer inclusive menu options, found their service to be friendly and fast, and appreciated the clean restrooms, even on a busy night. One additional note: the logo features imagery that appears to reference a stereotypical Native headdress, and as far as I can tell, the business isn't Native-owned. It might be time to reconsider that branding choice.
