We found this place a few years ago, and loved it! Became our new favorite spot! Then, it slowly became our least favorite spot! Every time, it got worse and worse! Cold, yucky food... bad service... a few weeks ago, we decided to try it again. Online said it closed at 10... we walked in to a packed restaurant at 9:45. Ok yeah, we get it, they are ready to close... however, when we walked in, the waitress looked at her phone and then yelled at us, WERE CLOSED!!! Embarrassing in front of a packed restaurant... we walked back out and down a block to Los Maguey, where they were happy to serve us hot, delectable food! My husband and I love Jefferson's. Summerville is limited on restaurants so we frequent Jefferson's, especially during football season. We have only lived in the area for 1 year, but have only had good experiences at Jefferson's. Food is good, I especially like the patty melt and the chicken nachos. The pretzels are always a good appetizer and beer is always cold. Our service is always wonderful. The girls do a great job keeping our drinks full and getting us any extras we need. Nice to sit and relax with good food, service and TVs to watch games. read more

My waitress took care of me while I dined in at this restaurant. She kept my sweet tea full at all times. The food was delicious, service great and nice clean restaurant at its best. Their parking lot was small and full so, I had to settle with street parking about one block away. Menu items ordered: hamburger Steak with onions, potato salad, baked beans, toasted bread and sweet tea (See photo taken of lunch). The hamburger steak was cooked just right and delicious. The baked beans were the best ever, and potato salad tasted great too. The toasted bread was still warm when they brought it to me. So I enjoyed my meal here. Other menu items; appetizers, salads, deserts, beer, seafood, burgers, wings, sandwiches, platters, wraps, chicken tender baskets, and etc. For families, they also have kids meals. I was not impressed. There was actually no love put in the food and they were out of alot of menu items when we dined, but honestly what else could I expect with a restaurant, located in a small town with minimum competition. That's a huge statement. For the price of the shrimp basket it was VERY skimpy. We couldn't eat the salad because the lettuce was translucent. The wings came out cold. I ordered the tacos and it looked NOTHING like the photo. The slaw had no sauce it was literally dry and the tortilla tasted stale. The tortilla chips were fried stale. We wanted oysters but they were out and after trying our food we joked that we were glad they were out of oysters because they might have been a disappointment as well. With such limited choices of restaurants to choose from in Summerville, my question to the owners and managers of this restaurant, why not treat the community better and serve them quality food? Why not up your non-existent competition? This is why people spend their money in Rome, GA and not their own community and a huge reason why big corporations buy out small companies like yours. This why when people go to bigger cities and out of the country their palette can not take appreciation to different cultures spices because of food like this. We went in for lunch today, I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and it was SALTY! Apparently there's a new cook destroying their food, the food server comped my meal and confirmed the food was being over salted. Take the salt shaker away from the new cook, they should know better. Even though I only took one bite, I can still feel the effects of the sodium. It tasted intentionality too salty, it was totally inedible. I'll eat there again someday but no time soon. read more

Service was decent but after waiting 30mins for our food it came out burnt and dry, the lettuce on my burger was old and the egg on my husbands burger was like rubber. The manager took both off and the server suggested next time we tell her sooner (we had taken two bites) and that she would get it remade for us. Came in here in on recommendation from several locals. Wife and I got the wings medium heat with fries and sweet tea. We both thought the wings were solid (they are fried) nice and crispy. There wasn't a ton of sauce on them so they had some decent snap to them as my wife said without being too wet. The fries were awesome we both thought. The sweet tea was the very epitome of Georgia sweet tea -- sweet very sweet but what would you expect you are in Georgia and you ordered sweet tea. The wings could have had more celery -- which may seem like a knock but it isn't because the celery was everything it should be but usually isn't at a wing place -- crisp and decent size -- three sticks came with each order. Tonight's dinner was horrible - chicken tenders tasted like they were microwaved. Wings were under cooked. Horrible.

If you aren't local, they will ignore you. We got our drinks and then we're ignored as the locals came in. Really really wanted to try the food. They need more servers and some lessons or food service etiquette! Loved the size and quality of the wings, but there was very little sauce so they were a bit dry. The macaroni and cheese was dry, with little cheese and no flavor, like something from a school cafeteria , but the bacon cheese fries made up for it and my wife enjoyed the fried pickles. Also, the coke taste like they either need to change out the syrup or mix up the carbonation ratio, because it taste like the fountain soda from a gas station not a restaurant. I have eaten at several different locations but the Summerville location did not come close to the quality of food I have had before. The Jefferson chicken I ordered was over cooked along with the burnt bacon on top. Could barely cut it with a knife. This was our first time ordering from here, as we live very close, but sadly it will be our last. The automatic added gratuity because of the pandemic had us paying $28 for two plates. Wow, I have stopped at this place four times now and have to say the wings are some of the best I ever had for fried wings, I live in Atlanta and have not found wings as good as these for the money at home. I go to Huntsville a lot so I now plan my trip to be at Jefferson's for lunch when going there. The wings are really Jumbo not like a lot of places that call theirs jumbo and they really are not. Fried pickles are very good, we had the chicken Philly cheesesteak and it was very good. Large enough to split if you get the fried pickles first. Wing sauce is really good as well, someone had fried chicken tenders with wing sauce. Really good. Service was top notch as well. Absolutely loved this cute little restaurant. We were spending a couple days at James H Floyd State Park and stopped in this place on a whim. We sat at the bar and the nicest man started talking with us. He encouraged us to try the wings. They were amazing! So glad we took his advice. His wife is a waitress there...sweetest couple ever! They "replaced it" with another salad and the bill which was almost $11.00. Stated they wouldn't even discount the meal! Went there for lunch. Got my order and it was wrong. Sent it back and got back my food that I had already eaten off of with blue cheese crumbles tossed all over it. Instead of preparing fresh and I'm pretty sure you shouldn't take food that has been eaten back into the clean kitchen and my other half of the wrap was barely wrapped back up. We go here pretty often because my fiancé likes the wings, but every time we go the experience gets gradually worse. The wait tonight was over 45 minutes for a salad and wings. I ordered a Caesar salad, and the chicken on it was cold and the Parmesan cheese was the grated kind that you find at pizza places. I have never seen a Caesar salad like that and it was disgusting. If the restaurant isn't going to make a well known item correctly, then why have it on the menu? Not to mention that we had been charged for a pitcher of beer that we didn't order. If I hadn't looked at the check we would have paid an extra $10 for our waitresses mistake. Overall the experience was terrible and we won't be back. read more

We had the occasion to travel to Summerville, Georgia this past week,and we wanted to return to Jefferson's Restaurant , downtown, for some of their super fried oysters. Very disappointed that they were out of oysters. Instead we opted for a burger that turned out to be equally as good as the fried oysters that I would normally order. The restaurant is small, cozy,clean, and welcoming. The servers all displayed true "southern hospitality",and all worked with award winning smiles. These folks really appreciate their customers. Todd, the owner, was concerned that the oysters were not available, but when we went back the next night with ten family members, he had indeed ordered more oysters. Superb.
