Huge, freshly made, delicious sandwiches! I even loved the potato salad side. Not typically a fan of mayo-based potato salad but the tons of fresh bacon, chopped eggs and hint of fresh dill made their version very tasty. I had a great turkey club and my husband had the Manhattan. He said the Manhattan was wonderful but it appeared to be one messy sandwich due to the Russian dressing. This place is truly a hidden gem! The service was amazing, the food came out so quickly and all of it was absolutely delicious and fresh! I would highly recommend this place! I couldn't believe the options this little bistro had to offer! Not only do they have a full menu of yummy homemade soups, sandwiches and salads but they have a entire vegetarian menu as well! My mother has a gluten allergy and they even had the option of Gluten Free Bread! I must say the vegetarian chicken salad on a croissant was sooo satisfying! The potato salad was excellent! Great food, great service and always make greasy sandwiches and other treats. We love ordering always at your establishment your staff never slows down during the lunch rush. Even on line orders get moved out fast for easy pick up. A favorite is your banana pudding so creamy and smooth we order it like crazy in our office( Mohawk Industries). Had lunch here several times. At times the service is slow but that is only because the place can get slammed. Staff are young but very friendly. Surprised by the many vegetarian options. I will generally get the black bean sandwich or the black bean salad. The black bean patty seems to be freshly made, not just a frozen morning star patty. I will also try the vegetarian chicken club if I am feeling something different. It is all fake meats so not super healthy but still pretty good. Prefer the NY rye bread as it is thinner than many of the other options. There soup specials are generally tasty as hell. Had the tomato basil today and it was perfect on a cold day. read more

If you've never been here I highly recommend. First if all go at 11 or 2 or they'll be super busy and it's no wonder why. The chicken salad and Rubens are unbeatable. We normally have a good food experience here but something has changed lately. The food was "just okay" a few weeks ago and tonight, I got their Meatball Sub Sandwich and it was cold! The minimum holding temperature for cooked meat is 140 degrees F. This sandwich wasn't even close to room temperature. While returning the sandwich and getting a menu, I had to consider WHAT ELSE in that kitchen isn't at the proper temperature? What temperature are their cold meats store at? How clean is the kitchen and the people working in it? I decided NOT to eat anything from this kitchen. Me and a colleague headed up to Calhoun, GA looking to get a piece of the flooring business pie and planned to grab lunch in the area before our big meeting. Calhoun has every chain restaurant known to man, but we wanted something original, so, of course, we took to Yelp. After seeing the reviews we knew this was our spot and they did not disappoint. As waitresses wisked by us with speed and grace, every plate we saw looked heavenly. It was one of those dining moments where you felt like you could not go wrong, but you wanted to go really right. The place was packed with locals and that is always a sign of some darn good food. So, when in Calhoun, do as the Calhounians do. I decided to order the daily special, Blackened Turkey Sandwich: Blackened Turkey, Hummus, Havarti Cheese, Lettuce and Tomato served on a Fresh Pita with Chips and a Pickle. This was that fire! It was kind of this lovely combination with just enough of each ingredient. Unfortunately, I was so consumed with my own food, I have forgotten what my colleague ate. When we approached the register to pay up front, we saw the glorious pie display. Mouth watering stuff here folks. We were on our way to a meeting so we decided to buy two slices of pie to eat after our meeting to celebrate what would hopefully be a kick ass meeting. We asked the guy at the register (who happened to be one of the owners I believe) about the pies expecting that they had them shipped in from another spot in town, but, to our surprise, we were informed that all of the pies were hand crafted in house. We asked for his recommendation and he suggested the Praline and Cream Pie. So, we went to our meeting and kicked some ass. We got out to the car and decided to break out the pie. Holy moly. This was melt in your mouth heaven. I could eat this pie everyday of my life and still want more. All in all, from the staff and service to the food and prices, Christian and Jakes Bistro was outstanding. I will, without a doubt, pay this place a visit every time I am in town.
