Dropped 2 pairs of shoes to be glued and re-soled. One pair of shoes, the other sneakers. They were dropped of on 10/18 to be picked up on 10/21 in a Target bag. I went in today (11/8) and at first, he could not find them as there were many same bags. They were finally located in the front of the store exactly where I had dropped them off. This shop reminds me of Ollivanders Wand Shop because it is packed to the gills! There are literally mountains of shoes and bags here. I have no idea how Dom keeps track of all the items, but he knew right where my things were and he did an excellent job repairing the heels on my Frye boots. He also cleaned them and polished them for me before I picked them up. My boots look and feel incredible now and I know they'll last me a while before I have to bring them back in for their next cleaning. Super high quality shoe repair at reasonable prices, with a heaping helping of old-school South Philly thrown in for free! My daughter's prized possession, her Doc Marten knee-high boots, developed broken zippers overnight. I know nothing about shoe repair, but recognized the risk in getting new zippers installed that weren't "just right". Dom's knew the same thing without my having to bring the topic up myself, and the boots have been perfect ever since they worked their magic. Personally, it's the hard-core local flavor of Dom's that I love, and it's worth the trip to South Philly just for that experience alone. Miracle Worker!!! OMG, I can't even describe how fully satisfied I was with his craftsmanship. I brought two of my favorite pair of shoes here, one was a $250 pair of boots I purchased in 2009 with heel/sole that I have completely worn out. I was just going to throw it away because it seemed unrepairable and Dom was able to restore it. I swear, it looks like pair of brand new boots. He also repaired my other dress shoes, he was able to replace the heel/sole to perfection. Don't expect Dom to do expedited work, skills like his takes time. So, if you're not in a rush, give him time to restore/fix your shoes. I paid a total of $70 to repair both and it was worth every penny. I feel like I have two brand new pair of shoes. Dom even repaired the lining inside and added padding so they are now more comfortable than when I first bought them. His prices are great, don't go anywhere else or you'll be ripped off. The repair was cheap, but I guess I got what I paid for. Dom was very friendly and once my shoes were properly fixed I was happy with them, but getting them repaired was more troublesome than I had hoped. I went to Dom's on a Wednesday to get new heels put onto a pair of Frye boots. A very friendly man (who I assume is Dom) told me that he could complete the job by Friday for a very affordable $15. I returned on Saturday morning only to find that my shoes weren't ready yet. Dom told me they would be ready by 2pm. I told him I'd have to come back on Sunday, and he told me he'd be closed until Tuesday. Begrudgingly I reconciled myself to picking up my shoes on Tuesday, almost a full week after I'd dropped them off. They were ready on Tuesday as promised, but on Thursday night the entire sole on one of the boots separated from the shoe while I took them off. I had to bring therm back on Friday. This time Dom was nice enough to fix them for free, and he had them done by the next day. read more

Thank goodness for great professional shoe repair in my new neighborhood! Dom's is the truth and though it might take a while, it's worth it in the end for shoes you care about. I moved to South Philly a couple of months ago. After hard wearing, one bad attempt at a resoling, and more than a year in storage, my boots were dried out, damaged, and needed emergency treatment ASAP if they were ever going to be wearable again. Operating only on the hunch that piles and piles (and PILES) of shoes are a good sign in a cobbler, I dropped off two pairs of beloved boots and two pairs of flats at Dom's. I was bracing myself to hear that my boots were unfixable. But looking at my Luccheses, Dom only said that boots this damaged would need some major work. He told me to give him some time, and he'd overhaul them for me. I came in a few times over the next few weeks to see what he was working on -- he had to completely remake the heels due to a bad job in West Philly, rebuilt the toes where the leather had been destroyed, and resoled them as well. He gave me the flats pretty quickly, and continued working on the two pairs of boots for over a month. But what a month! He worked some major magic on those boots. I was hugely relieved to see my old boots looking good again, and inexpensively at that. Patience is a virtue! This definitely took a long time, but it's worth it to actually have my boots back and good as ever. read more
