Sunset Animal Clinic - The vet could care less, and it was earth-moving in disgust and heartbreak.

I adopted Xavier from there and used to take Oliver as well they were kittens. When I started going there and kept going was because Dr Khuly was awesome plus there were other older vets that were great as well plus Connie was bookkeeping (I think) at the time. Everything changes and I continued to go there for nail trims and any emergency that may pop up if it happened on a day the office was open. I called yesterday on July 21 to make an appointment for nail trims and was informed that since the boys hadn't had a full physical exam in years that the next time I would schedule an appointment for nail trimming that I would have to give them each a physical. Now mind you I expressed to the young lady on the phone which btw it's not her fault at all and I understand this, but I was very upset at feeling forced to have to give my days physicals. I explained to her that about couple of months ago I happened to have sprints about 1,500 at town and country hospital due to emergency with both Oliver needed teeth cleaning cause he had stopped eating and then a week Xavier had been throwing up along with diarrhea and was sick for over a week. This happened over the weekend when your office was not open. These are indoor cats always have been.. I am 61 years old currently unemployed and having financial difficulties I try to give my cats the best care they I can. I really liked the way your vet techs clipped their nails it's a shame that everything changes.

I have a miniature zoo of animals and my regular vet is not conveniently located so I thought I'd try them since they have such positive reviews. I was even thinking maybe I can switch vets if I like them but the immediate dismissal without even asking how serious the cat's injuries are was highly disappointing. Even if they did not have a vet available to see my cat, the least they could do was act like they care. I did not get the sense that animal well-being is on the top of their priority list so I will stick with my regular vet for regular care and Knowles for true emergencies since both of those have staff that actually seem to care about the animals. If you are thinking about making your pet a new patient at Sunset Animal Clinic, make sure you have an appointment because otherwise they could not care less.

I adore my animals and I'm very picky about where I take them for healthcare. Last year I lost my…read moredog to liver cancer. With a very poor life expectancy after diagnosis, we moved to Miami and needed to find a new veterinarian for her. We were blessed to find this practice and Dr. Michael. The loving Care he was provided did not just prolong her life, it helped prolong her happy and enjoyable life as long as possible. It also helped us prepare to know when going on was not an option. The incredible compassion shown through their care was over the top superb. My most recent visit was to bring my new baby and for spaying. As always, the medical skill and compassion was remarkable. I am comforted to know that my dog's health is being overseen by Dr. Michael. There is one problem with this practice that I do need to call out. I'm a busy person and don't always have time to wait. I understand when I come in for emergency care that there will be a wait, depending on the other other appointments and emergencies being taken care of, but when I bring my dog in for scheduled spaying to drop her off and then return at the time that they tell me to pick her up I do not expect to have over an hour wait in the waiting room. But I did in the morning and then again in the afternoon. Having run a medical practice of my own for decades, I know the importance of valuing other people's time and feel that they do not value mine as well as they could. This is my only complaint, but it is not a small one. I will of course tolerate the wait because of my trust in Dr. Michael but feel that this is something they should work on by having systems in place to prevent weight time when it is unnecessary. I highly recommend this practice for the quality of Care but be prepared for the long wait times.

Unfortunately, my experience with their medical care has been incredibly disappointing. I brought my cat in for a nail injury and spent approximately $500-700 on the initial visit. After diagnostic testing, I was sent home with a wound-cleaning solution to apply myself (the wound was not cleaned at the hospital) and antibiotics. The antibiotics worked while he was taking them, but once they were finished, the infection returned. A couple of months later, I returned for the exact same issue. I spent another $700 on additional testing and was again sent home with antibiotics. Once again, the antibiotics improved the infection temporarily, but after they ended, the problem came back. What has been most frustrating is feeling like each visit focused on treating the symptoms rather than identifying and resolving the underlying cause. It feels like they patch it up with a temporary solution that forces you to keep coming back instead of fixing the actual problem. I've never been to a place so inconsiderate of people's time, money, and emotional investment. I've spent around $1,400 for what has essentially been a Band-Aid, and my cat is still dealing with the same problem
