I came in to the clinic without an appointment for my dog. My dog wasn't feeling well, and wasn't eating or drinking anything. They brought her in and ran some tests immediately. Our cat was experiencing severe, painful blockage and difficulty moving his bowels. Extremely hard He had gone though this problem a couple of months earlier but it re-occurred, this time more serious than the past. We were very concerned because the cat is of mid-advanced age and could develop complications from the multiple procedures (poop scoops, enemas, meds, food changes, almost daily hydration sessions, etc..) over an extended period of time. His hips were starting to show signs of weakness and was in a lot of pain despite being under constant care. My wife found Sabal Chase Animal Clinic. The Doctor (I think Dr. Rose), is fantastically knowledgeable, patient and caring. She takes the time to speak with you over the phone, explain her prognosis and treatment and genuinely cares about the wellbeing of your pet. Its hard to explain the results after just one visit and I would like to attribute the apparent total success to Dr. Rose's approach and treatment although she may tell you its a combination of several things coming together but nevertheless..... The cat had one session of acupuncture and a change of food and the next day, the cat pooped almost normally, the day after, success again, amazing. I was a faithful client of Sabel Chase Animal Clinic in kendall Florida. I took my cat 5 days ago because she was not able to do bowl movements for a few days. The doctor he did 2 x-rays, blood work, enema, a shot of vitamin b12 and changed me $1015.00. and my cat has the same problem. He said to bring her back next day to sedate her and remove the stool out. When he was questioned the next day why didn't you took the stool out then and there, why charge so much money. Before I begin, I'd like to preface the review with this statement: For the majority of our time with sabal chase, the veterinarian and staff treated our animals and ourselves well and with care. They loved the animals like they were their own, kept the place clean, and kept the food and medicine organized. My pets always came home from boarding calm and clean. I'm grateful to the services they provided my animals. Unfortunately, this location is no longer viable for us to visit anymore. Due to a falling out between an employee and my father, on top of a misunderstanding of contracts staff treatment changed dramatically. Usually we could expect a warm welcome, and kind staff. My father can be rough, and one instance of interaction completely changed how the staff treated my family as a whole. The kindess was gone to everybody in my family, and we could now only expect curt business. It came to the point where even though they once loved him, they didn't allow my dog to stay anymore unless we fulflilled very specific conditions which due to our economic standing and other personal issues we could not. My point of the story is this. Because of misunderstandings, our experience with Sabal Chase changed dramatically to the point where we could no longer expect kindess from the staff. That kindess helped us feel reassured, that our love from the animals was continued with the kindess of the staff. I am so sad to have to leave because of a falling out between humans, and that my pets will be at the deficit. I recommend this place, but only if you yourself are constantly nice and willing to give up treatment of yourself for the sake of your animals. As a family, we have had a lot of issues with his abusive behavior, myself included. My mother, brother, and I have constantly been forced into situations we didnt want simply because of his control. In all of my years, I've never come across a more condescending, arrogant and unwelcoming individual as I did when I visited Dr. Kupkee at the Sabal Chase Animal Clinic. Dr. Kupkee's arrogance and pejorative approach rivals some of the worst human behavior, so much so, that I'm taking the time to highly discourage any pet lovers from taking their animal to Dr. Kupkee at the Sabal Chase Animal Clinic. I arrived with my puppy and after a brief wait, I was greeted by Dr. Kupkee as he took us back to his office. This was the highlight of the experience. The rest was strictly downhill. Dr. Kupkee asked me why I was visiting and after partially explaining our dog's symptoms, he immediately cut me off and began chastising and lecturing me on the proper way to be a pet owner. Our dog had gotten heat rashes, not an uncommon occurrence amongst Golden Retrievers, and yet I was told that this was entirely my fault and that I should have been more careful with our dog. Dr. Kupkee spoke literally for ten minutes without allowing me to speak, meanwhile our puppy was in the back room in pain while the other staff members (who were actually quite friendly and exceptional) looked after her. It wasn't so much Dr. Kupkee's choice of words (although realistically speaking, who in this day and age uses words like, "Whilst", "Alberit" or "Canis Lupus Familiaris) but rather his lack of care, compassion and concern for our dog. After being lectured for ten minutes, I called my husband who drove over to join us and he too was bewildered by the lack of bedside manner, let alone normal human behavior, exhibited by Dr. Kupkee. Dr. Kupkee was so disrespectful that at one point when I finally got a word in, he demanded, "well, why didn't you tell me that in the first place?!", to which I replied, "because you didn't allow me to speak!". He turned bright red, blushed and chuckled to himself, "well, sometimes I have that effect on people". In my entire life, I have never been so disappointed with an interaction than I was with Dr. Kupkee. As an animal lover, I can only highly encourage pet owners to strongly reconsider any decision to visit the Sabal Chase Animal Clinic. Dr. Kupkee is an embarrassment to the medical professional and his social and professional skills leave a tremendous amount to be desired. read more

The staff and Dr. here saved my dogs life this past Saturday. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this place is and I am so thankful for all they did to save my dog. My dog bit a toad and by the time we got there he was stiff and unresponsive. The Dr. and her staff dropped everything they were doing and spent hours attending to my dog and going above and beyond to save him. Each staff member genuinely cared about my dog and would not give up on him. After a few hours of relentless work they were able to stabilize him against all odds. They were extremely knowledgeable and caring during the whole ordeal. They referred us to an ER clinic in case my dog got worse during the night and we did have to take him as he became dehydrated. The first thing the vet told us at the ER was that everything they did and all medication provided was exactly what he needed and that it was miraculous that they were able to save my dog considering how bad he had been poisoned. Today I received a call from Sabal chase to check up on my dog and to let me know they had reviewed the notes sent over from the ER. I have never been to a vet that calls days later to check up on your dog. Just another example as to how they go above and beyond. Thank you to Sabal Chase doctors and staff for the excellent care you provided to my dog. My husband and I made the decision to drive all the way from South Beach to Kendall for the right vet - and Sabal Chase is worth it. Immediately you can feel the genuine love the staff has for animals. Dr. Kupkee spent a lot of time with our dog and I never once felt rushed (something I think often happens at doctors offices). I absolutely LOVE HER!!!! She's thorough, thoughtful, trustworthy, and tremendously 'telligent! My Miniature Schnauzer/child, Olivia, is diabetic and blind and Dr. Rose and the Kupkee Krew: Karina, Anna, Wendy (MY GIRLS!!), Tiphaine, Tsa, Luis, Andy, Ashley, Lynn--and of course--Dr. K, have always been so caring, attentive, and compassionate towards her. The techs voluntarily attend continuing education seminars (on their own time!) to further their understanding of the latest developments and advancements specific to Olivia's needs, as well as to re solidify established techniques of the field. After reading the previous reviews about SCAC I decided to take my Munchkin in for what I thought was an emergency visit. I am a first time cat owner so I am learning as I go along so the first time my Moxie was in heat freaked me out and I thought she was sick or worse. When I arrived with her the vet and the staff all had a very calming effect. There was little wait time to meet with the vet and he immediatly told me she was fine that she was just in heat lol. Sooo I went ahead and made an appt to have her spaded and they were very helpful with the cost of the procedure and on their website they have several coupons so our visit was FREE! She had her procedure done a week ago and they have been so helpful in making sure she is okay and talking me through the whole thing. Truly special is all I can say about this team. I will never take Moxie anywhere else ever again. They also have a list of ways to save money (Check in on Facebook, mention them in your comments on FB, review on Google+, etc). read more

Dr. Kupkee and his staff are fantastic and extremely nice. Dr. Kupkee takes his time to explain everything in detail. The only thing that I have as a concern is that they try to push other services to you (allergy test) and add things to your visit charge which can make your vet visit way more expensive than other places. My dog had an allergic reaction to something in her food all over her skin. I took her in and I was tried to get suckered into the allergy test. I explained that I am on a tight budget but I would think about it. They weren't pushy after that. I had to buy an allergy shampoo and spray (made and sold only by the doctor's office) which worked great and made the rash go away, but very pricey. Instead of giving my dog an expensive allergy test, I changed her food to something with limited ingredients, and that helped. They do give you discounts, which does help. In a nutshell, the service is great, but they do try to get you to buy services, while sometimes needed, I was able to figure things out on my own. They don't try to keep pushing them on you when you say no or maybe later. Expect a pricey vet visit. read more
