Very cute little place. We were the only ones there on a Friday evening. Customer service was good which is a positive. Food was pretty pricey. Food was decent but no where near amazing. Queso was not good.

Extremely bland food and burned rice.

This place use to be good !!service was ok but they are in dire need of a good cook everything was bland don't waste your time or money here you better off going to taco bell no lie !

Over priced and no flavor! We had the arroz con pollo and a veggie quesadilla. The serving size for arroz con pollo was huge, but it was SO bland. I asked for a cheese quesadilla with fajita veggies, and I got broccoli, carrots, and onions? It was the smallest quesadilla I've ever had. I also ordered a side of black beans- for $3, they were under cooked and had no flavor. It WAS cinco de mayo, so I'd like to think it was an off day, but I won't be going back to try again. (They also ran out of chips and didn't have corona light) Seriously, save your money. Taco Bell is better.

    WTF is it?

Being from Southern California, I've been fortunate to have had access to good, authentic Mexican food my entire life ... now "life" has brought me to Montana and so my search for "comfort food" begins. I decided to visit Don Luis this evening based on their 4.4 star rating on Google. After being seated at our table, was a good 5 or so minutes later that we received a menu. Chips and salsa were "meh" ... Wasn't too impressed with the menu ... alot of "weird" dishes not typically seen on a Mexican menu. The waiter informed me that they could make anything so I asked for a plate with a crispy chicken taco, cheese enchilada w/ verde sauce, beans & rice. Ordered a chile rellano on the side as well. Food took about 45 minutes ... no lie! A family that had come in 20 minutes or so after us were served their food first, not cool. As to the food ... disgusting. The "verde" sauce had the consistency of a thick gravy and was bland AF. The chile rellano resembled an omelette and again, doused in this green, lumpy, nasty gravy crap. The taco, beans & rice were just OK. I left the enchilada and rellano uneaten. Waiter asked if I needed a box ... nah dude, just a trash can. The bill was shocking, wayyy overpriced and so not worth it. You couldn't pay me to go back ...

Get the chorizo queso. It is unreal. Only reason it isn't is they don't have a liquor license... so no margaritas.

Unique atmosphere, great service and gourmet Mexican food. Chips were served warmed and the salsa tasted very fresh.

We would not come back. The food was not so great and the prices are as high as Seattle.

I'm in Billings for the next two weeks and I was hoping to find a solid option for good Mexican,…read moreespecially a place with good mariscos. So with that in mind I ordered delivery from Guadalajara for some Camarones a La Diabla, a dish I order regularly. I don't want to go into these things with assumptions or negative expectations but this is not the first time I've been in Montana and Billings specifically. I have found gems in places I wouldn't have expected, but Billings has so far not been one of those places. This was not bad, but it was not good either. The sauce is very clearly ketchup based and it was hard to get past the strong ketchup flavor. It is not unheard of to make Diabla sauce using ketchup. It also isn't the best way to make a Diabla sauce IMHO but it can work. This sauce did have good heat, nothing crazy but the heat was there. There was also some other good flavors including a roasted/char character that was nice. I just had a hard time getting past the sweetness and very distinct ketchup flavor. A little too much of a tangy sweet flavor for me. The shrimp were nice size, cooked decently (I try not to judge too much on shrimp when it is delivery, but this was better than average) and enough that I'm not going to complain about portion size. The other items for the dish, rice, refried beans, salad, pico, and guacamole were all pretty good. I had them hold the sour cream. I also ordered chips and salsa which was a let down. The chips were dry aged, er, I mean stale and the salsa was very very very bland.

The food was OK (not great), but the service was awful! We waited over 30 minutes for our order and…read morethe waitress never came back to our table after taking our order. We won't go back.
